BrixNewb's First Grow & Beyond

All subbed up everything looks great on your end.

Thanks Spart, glad to have you along for the ride.

Not a ton to report today. The veg tent is moving right along, hit Budzilla with some De-Stress to help with the rootbound funk she had going on. Also chopped off her lower fans to expose some side branching to the light.

Grapefruit Diesel got a limb broken just for the hell of it. 24 hours later all the fans and bud sites are turned up to the light and she hasn't missed a beat.

Pineapple Chunk is moving along slowly but surely, really nothing there to report.

The auto girls are doing fine, a little slow in my opinion, but I am letting them dry out and build roots, so not a big deal.

Tomorrow or the next day I will snap some good pictures, should be about time for Cat Drench for Grapefruit Diesel.

Chocolope Kush is doing well, looks like a bug may have nibbled on my leaves. I had some small moths in the house, so maybe one got in there. If it progresses I will do an investigation.

Budzilla was rootbound, but appears to be recovering well.

Pineapple Chunk was a slow grower, so I knew it would be small. Flowers are shooting up nicely, but it's already yellowing the lower leaves. Very surprised to see this so soon.

Grapefruit Diesel got supercropped on one limb just for the heck of it. Within 24 hours all the buds and fans had turned up towards the light and it hasn't missed a beat since. The stretch is over thankfully, and I believe I won't have to supercrop any more branches. Cat Drench is just around the corner for her.

Ok, back with another large photo update. I decided to get some 3 gallon plastic pots to act as an intermediate stage between one gallon pots and seven gallon pots. Still working on my watering technique, so this will give me a bit more space in the small veg tent while I am working things out.

The autos are doing alright. Been letting them dry out nicely, then I fed them each about 14 ounces of Growth Energy water.

Chocolope Kush got upcanned yesterday. She was dropping from being rootbound and today she is drooping from being overwatered. That's ok, she'll be back.

Budzilla is doing alright, recovering from being rootbound and the upcanned. I am going to take Shig's advice and clone the main stem shortly. Want to get some more growth on her first. She seems a little yellower than I like, but I think she will be just fine.

Pineapple Chunk is really gobbling up those lower leaves! They are a bright shade of yellow. She should be ready for Cat Drench here shortly, got her Recharge a couple days ago.

Grapefruit Diesel was the subject of a couple of experiments. I supercropped one of her branches and within 24 hours all the fans and bud sights had repositioned themselves perfectly to receive the most light. A few days later I decided to try the same thing with two other branches. After 24 hours the branches had no noticeable response to the light, so I slapped some duct tape on the branches and set them back upright. She is sucking up her first Cat Drench and should get her second within the week.

After a little investigation it appears that the 3 gallon nursery pots may be a bit bigger than I expected. I went ahead and ordered some 2 gallon nursery pots and we will see how those look.

I also decided to top Budzilla and make the top a clone. Probably a little premature, but I am sure it won't be a big deal. It's in the Rapid Rooter and hopefully within a week we will start seeing roots poking out.

Veg tent update today. Budzilla is quite the little bush since she was topped. I have not done any defoliation on her at all, hoping to wait until she puts on some height. At this time everything is quite close together which will make thinning her a bit of a chore.

Chocolope Kush is recovering from being transplanted.

Nice problem to have! :thumb:

I am going to go ahead and take your word on that one!

Bloom tent update today. Got the auto girls. Not a ton of side branching, they are shooting pistils. Autos are a weak spot for me, I am slowly learning what they like. Maybe not, but we will see if I do better than last time.

Pineapple Chunk is doing alright. This is the pheno that refuses to grow in veg. After two months of veg I decided to throw it into bloom and see what I got. Not expecting a huge yield, maybe an ounce and a half. Nice trichome development on her.

Grapefruit Diesel is moving along. I would like to see more trichome development out of her, but there is still time left.

I tried supercropping a couple branches of her. This branch took well to supercropping. Within 24 hours the buds and fans had realigned themselves to face the light. I was very happy. As time went on though the whole branch curved right back up to the light and she is pretty much back where she started! Unbelievable!

The Grape Ape x Sensi Star I grew this time around was like your PC. It looked like a bonsai or "toy" plant. It refused to grow or stretch. It will be interesting to see what it does outside with all the soil, time and light it can use.

Yeah, Neiko told me about this pheno. It's shaping up like my Critical x AK47 I grew last run which wasn't as far along as the others when flipped. It's a learning experience for me. It will indeed be interesting to see what GASS does outside. I will be watching for sure.

Got a bloom tent update.

Blackjack Auto is a lanky little bastard. Starting to shoot out pistils. Nothing much to report.

Wipeout Express Auto is also a lanky little bastard. Pistils are there, still not sure about me and autos.

Pineapple Chunk got some LST. I wanted to open the plant up to more light since it's buds are already going to be small. While the buds are quite small, they are pretty resinous. I am thankful for that.

Grapefruit Diesel's buds are bulking up nicely. It has 6 tops and I think the buds are going to all be nice thick colas with no popcorn thanks to the lollipopping I did.

:goodjob: BrixNewb. That Grapefruit Diesel is going to produce for ya.

That you arteekay, it sure looks like she will be quite the gal once she is done. I am very pleased with her. She just got a Rescue Drench, so hopefully she won't skip a beat and those gorgeous flowers will keep on coming!

They are like the worlds most gorgeous cattails.

Indeed they are. I just sit and marvel at them when I open the door.

Back at it with another update.

Grapefruit Diesel is definitely a winner. I would say that I wish I had cloned her, but she is a bit stretchy for my liking. Almost maxed out in height. I think she will just squeeze in with millimeters to spare with the light as high as I can get it. Not super frosty, but frosty enough. All white pistils at this point.

IMG_006480.JPG

Pineapple Chunk, what can I say? She was the one who refused to grow vertically in veg. She hasn't stretched much in flower either. I am thinking I may see an ounce of bud from her. The pistils have started turning within the past few days. I guess she will finish first. She had some browning on the edges of her leaves so I gave her a Rescue Drench as per the Doctor's orders. Not sure it was soon enough to do much good.

Budzilla is one squat little bush. She was topped at the main node so she is about 8 lower nodes right now. Waiting for them to put on some length before throwing her into flower. I think we are still at least 3 weeks out.

IMG_007662.JPG

IMG_007562.JPG

Chocolope Kush is doing well. Had to trim some fan leaves to expose the lower nodes to the light. They look a little funky from being in the shade, but I think they will be just fine for the cloning within a few weeks.

Wipeout Express Auto seems to have some crazy leaf coloring going on. Not sure what it is, but I am not really worried about it.

IMG_005776.JPG

Blackjack Auto was treated exactly the same as Wipeout Express, but she is not having any crazy leaf coloring going on. Not sure what it is. They are starting to make buds. Excited to see how these turn out, but not expecting much weight.

Beautiful girls, BN!

I don't have any assistance to offer, other than to say it's not at all unusual for different strains to have different requirements, so you likely can't treat them all the same and still optimize each plant.

I'd agree though, nothing to really worry about.

:high-five: :goodjob:
