Brix, Buds & Blades: Knifemaker420's Auto Perpetual Garden

Ive been looking around for a decent led and that sp-250 looks nice but they are pricey
Yeah the sp-250 is pricey but worth every dime. Also I found a great deal on it for 4-20 I paid almost $150 less than
Good luck mate, postman needs to hurry for you now
Yeah, doesnt he know I'm waiting over here lol

Your setup looks fantastic. The fan and filter look just like the ones I have from Vivosun. I can imagine you're getting antsy for your seeds. Don't know if this helps but the seeds I ordered from The Vault in Scotland took 18 days, odered on April 6 and arrived here in Vancouver yesterday April 24. Hope yours have arrived today before the weekend!

Thanks Hutch, yep fan and filter are from vivosun, and most definitely antsy.

Good to know about the timeline on your seed delivery, I placed my order on the 12th of april and tracking hasn't changed since the left originating country update. Looking like I'll be waiting a few more days yet. :-(

I spent about 30 hours reading through @Dutchman1990's amazing auto quadline journal and and seriously thinking a out trying to quadline my girls. Good idea? Wait for more experiance?
Hey Knife! I really appreciate you taking your time and going through my journal! I hope it helps you along the way and if you have any questions I’m back in action here from the wedding and honeymoon!
Regarding the quadline I would agree with the consensus and get a grow under your belt! If your running autos it’s good to test if they like being topped or not! Some will react better than others and if they don’t react well that’s when you can implement the use of LST! Bending and controlling how your plant grows with ties and clips!

Well, just wanted to say I might have the best wife ever. Not only is she ok with me growing my own smoke, she has very kindly given up a corner of her craft room for my tent etc.
When we bought our house I took over the whole garage for my knifemaking shop and she got the spare room. My original plan was to keep the tent etc out in my shop but after thinking about the amount of dust I create out there as well as the types of dust made (steel, wood, carbon fiber, micarta, G10 etc etc) decided it would be better off in the house.

Also I recieved an email this morning from seedsman saying they had accidentally overcharged me and to rectify the issue they are sending me 10 more Zkittles auto seeds and giving me 500 loyalty points.
Still waiting for my seeds to arrive but everything else is here and waiting.

Thanks again everyone who is following my first grow, hopefully I'll be able to get started soon.

That’s a good wife indeed! My wife let me take over our spare bedroom now so I’m going crazy soon! Can’t wait to start popping seeds and getting back into the grind!

Got my tent all set up and ready for seeds to arrive any day now I hope. I have the carbon filter disconnected from the fan as to not waste it unnecessarily.

Ran the light and fans for about 90 minutes and it held pretty steady at 77°F so I'm happy with that.

The humidity is low, so that may need to be addressed although RH should increase once I start watering the plants...
Thanks to @SmokeSara for the recommendation on the light.

StaySharp everyone

The new SP-250 looks great and I’m sure your going to be happy with it! Can’t wait to see this grow show take off!

Hey everyone, got notification that my seeds have reached Canada and are currently in the hands of CBSA (customs) fingers crossed they clear without issue and I will have them by the end of the week. Would be nice to be able to drop on the first of May....

Quick question in preparation for the arrival of my beans.... I have my 5gal pots set up with promix hp and plan to plant my greminated seeds directly into them. Ive been reading ALOT of journals (trying to focus on soil less growing) in some of these coco journals the gardener will "precharge" the medium with a light dose of nutes before planting the seedlings. Is this somthing I need to do with the promix? I assume that since promix is nutritionaly sterile that I will need to give the seedlings somthing to eat.... would a quarter dose of the m-g-b and voodoo juice be a good idea?

Awesome setup man! ill be following along. Im also using the pro mix hp for the first time, seems like great stuff so far and the plants love it! Just a heads up you will want to feed it some type of sugars with the mycorrhizae to keep them alive. I use organic unsulphured molasses in a small amount throughout the entire grow. It also gets them buds nice and sugary and plump haha.

Hope you get those seeds in soon knife! Regarding Pro-Mix I strictly run Pro-Mix HP and I don’t amend my medium with anything. The seed themselves will have enough stored nutrients and energy to break ground and get going. Usually once you see the first sign of a full leaf (3 finger) is when you begin feeding. I personally start low with about an 1/8 of the recommendations of the manufacturer and then work up from there! Seedlings don’t need much and people charge coco because it’s getting watered more frequently. Pro-Mix I find personally retains enough moisture for a few days and you don’t need to water as frequently as coco. This is just MY OPINION as I’m sure many have others to add as well! Start simple keep it easy! Learn and build from your findings and experience!

...personally, I would amend the promix with some ewc's and some quality bagged compost...Lowes carried some sea compost last year that I used as part of my soil blend...enuff' goodies to carry the young'un's for some time... cheerz... :high-five:...h00k...:hookah:...
That’s a great point Hook but i don’t like the variables of things being unknown! Hard to determine exactly what’s in your mix and how much pot! With just promix your variables reduce and your able to dose your plants accordingly with nutrients!

Again IMO that’s just how I think and what works for me!

hehehe...we all have different idea's on how we do things, and that's kewl...I just put out what I would do...as do you...ultimately, the grower can make their final decision based on these different opinions...back when I was using "salts" with my soil blend, I would typically start feeding at 6 or 7 weeks, at 1/4 strength ...maybe unconventional...but worked for me...the past couple of years, I've embraced organic growing and can't see myself going back to that over sold nutrient rabbit hole...;)...cheerz...:high-five:...h00k...:hookah:...
