Brightlight's Strain Fest: Organics & LED

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Hey Brightlight!! Your ladies are lovely!! You will have a harvest before you know it!!

Hello Jade. Thanks for visiting...glad you did. 9 wks. since 12/12 so you're right. Smell is crazy, the whole house smells whenever I open the tent...what we all love!

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

A few more pictures...all at 66 days. Both White Master Kush's & the Em-Dog were harvested today at 68 days.

WHITE MASTER KUSH
The purple plant was 85-90% cloudy/opaque trichomes. Bud appearance was too mature imo. Incense, pepper, herb scent. Tasted a couple of leaves...strong peppery taste. Interesting & way more tasty than green ones.

The greener WM ended up a nice lighter, yellow lime green. Trichomes 90-95% cloudy/opaque. Similar fragrance to purple WM.

EM-DOG
Trichomes around 65-70% cloudy/opaque but a couple of ambers at this stage too. Buds looked plenty mature so I decided overall it was a good enough time to harvest it. This plant without a doubt was the most fragrant...floral, perfume scent. No OG fuel type smell at all.
IMG_109232.JPG

See the male flower? I saw a few seeds on smaller bottom buds on Em-Dog & both WM's. I think the green WM was the culprit.
Em-Dog & purple WM were its next door neighbors. Other plants don't appear impacted (hopefully).

CHEM 91
One Chem had skinnier buds all along but gained some good girth to almost catch her sister. Overall, the buds look good to me, but fewer, shorter trichomes, not much fragrance. IDK as never grown straight Chem before.

BELLADONNA
The white trichome layer on most buds surpassed even The White influence on the White Masters. A promotional seed...but everything I've grown from Paradise has been good & made me happy. A cool plant with its heavily coated, white smallish buds. Buds look very mature to me but trichomes not much past 50/50 cloudy/clear. Even so, I'm going to cut it very soon, since she's got a lot of sativa in her. I recently saw a harvest trichome picture of a Kyle Kushman 70% indica that was virtually 100% clear! I generally seem to cut earlier than most, but that picture made me scratch my head. ???

This grow is quickly winding up. I'll follow up on the harvest of the last 3. I like living bud pics best, but maybe I'll get a couple of nice dried buds to take pictures of down the line. A short rest/respite from growing would be nice, but I'm going to start one more right away before I will have to take a break to deal with more shoulder surgery, likely a replacement...Ugh. Thanks as always for visiting!

MERRY CHRISTMAS :Namaste:

Thanks for the best bud porn I've seen in a while Bright. Awesome! I wish I could try your buds >.< ...

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Such a beautiful grow brightlight. :bravo:

I had a deep green pheno and a light yellow pheno on my WiFi grow. If the White Master follows the same traits, your purple pheno will be something VERY special. The pheno that turned yellow was still good, but in comparison it was a 7/10. The dark green pheno was a 12/10 lol. Simply the best mmj I've ever grown.

I'm very excited to hear your smoke reports. The emdog also has my attention. I can't wait to hear how she smokes and what traits are prominent. The strongest mmj I've ever had was a cross by a local guy he called juggernaut. It smelled exactly the way you describe emdog.

I'm waiting in anticipation brightlight. Have you taken any testers? I know, I'm totally like a kid LOL. ..:volcano-smiley::circle-of-love::goodjob::cheertwo:

Very nice indeed. Chem '91 and EM Dog are supposed to be excellent strains, I hope they are some good smoke for sure. Well, it's always nice to try something new :)

Those are some beautiful sheaves you're bringing in there, Brightlight. Tremendous to see. Thank you.

Good to see you Con. It will be interesting to see what the breeders can do with bringing a 1991 clone only to seed. Besides the Cali version I also have a DinaChem. Then there's the DNA version, which I don't know anything about. Are there others I should know about?

Thanks for the best bud porn I've seen in a while Bright. Awesome! I wish I could try your buds >.< ...

Next time you're in CA SoilGirl, swing by & you can try some & take some for the road.

Hey doc. I haven't forgotten you wanted Em-Dog report/info. She's hanging in the garage right now. 3 days later & the garage still reeks. You're getting me antsy to try the WM after your WiFi comments. They're also in garage helping Em-Dog smell up the house.

Those are some beautiful sheaves you're bringing in there, Brightlight. Tremendous to see. Thank you.
:bravo::bravo::bravo:

Hey Mr. T. I had to look up the word "sheaves". Haha. Thanks for your kind words.

Wow, that's the stuff. Exceptional ladies BL. They all look so delicious!

Very happy for you BL! :peace::Namaste:

Thank you CareStaker. Still have the main event...the vape test, but the grow has been a good one, minimal problems.

Hey BAR. I have a McD's fairly close by & have been known to hit up the drive thru for munchie fixes.

Thanks to all for dropping by!

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

After having seen some of your thoughtful comments in some of the most interesting places, I had to check out your work. Your journal has been a great gift during this holiday season. Koszonom szepen.
I admire both your growing skills and your broad knowledge of plant genetix. Your outdoor grow was lovely. One of my gardening heroes is Masanobu Fukuoka. He wrote The One Straw Revolution, and I think this might resonate strongly w/you. It did w/me.
I got in late on this one. If/when you start another, could you let me know? Feels more natural when you can follow in real time.
Thx and happy holidays!

Amazing....Wow, I wish that I was as talented and I envy you of the facts and information you know. I feel like I'm in daycare while you had already graduated from university; point of view, LOL

So how's it going over there, bright? I guess NorCal is slowly preparing for the next outdoor season, right? :tokin:

Welcome Ranger! Thank you for your kind words & for intro to Masanobu Fukuoka. I briefly read a little about him & will pursue in more depth. You are a Renaissance grower who also speaks Hungarian? Despite my poor updating schedule that I intend to improve, I plan to continue this journal. I have seeds sprouting right now. I finally found a link to your journal that worked.

Hi Brightlight,

How did that emdog and white master turn out for you? Hope you're doing well my friend :Namaste:

Brightlight Brightlight - Gotta keep pestering you for that emdog review hehehe...

:circle-of-love::Namaste::peace:

Hey Dr. Sorry for delay. My bad. I'm not very methodical when it comes to testing strains. I usually have to try them a few times...preferably at least once after a self imposed no 420 day. I try to do this 1-2 days a wk. but often miss my target. Anyway, EmDog is good & getting better with a little curing time. A slightly different kind of OG. Last try it all of a sudden had what a cool young Rasta friend aptly describes as a "mule kick". I will add more detail coming up soon. Mini preview....Chem 91!!!

Amazing....Wow, I wish that I was as talented and I envy you of the facts and information you know. I feel like I'm in daycare while you had already graduated from university; point of view, LOL

Welcome FairyFHaroman. Thanks for visiting & your very kind words. What little I know, I'm happy to share. There are some very talented growers who visit here, however, so be welcome, join in & feel free to ask about anything....they will know.

Yummy looks amazing.

Welcome Dank420Girl! Thanks for visiting. Your 5+ pounders are already legendary. I really enjoyed it since we had a couple of the same strains.

So how's it going over there, bright? I guess NorCal is slowly preparing for the next outdoor season, right? :tokin:

Hey con! Last night I hear this thumping on the side of the house. Since I keep gates locked, it sounded like someone was climbing over the fence. Checked it out & saw nothing. Happened again later! Now I really look around & still see nothing. This morning I see raccoons or something had ripped up soil in 2 growing spots looking for grubs or whatever. So yeah...looking at the dug up dirt made me start thinking about getting soil ready pretty soon. After heavy, heavy Dec. rains, Jan. had been bone dry & mild so weather makes it seem like outdoor season is close!

Happy New Year Friends! Back soon with some pictures, harvest review, & intro to new grow.
