Brightlight's Strain Fest: Organics & LED

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

PotChimp just harvested what he thinks is a ThaiDawg. :cheesygrinsmiley: It was supposed to be a Thai Stick S1, but it's ... just not, heheh. And there was a Chemdawg in the tent with the Thais. So he maybe has a Thai Stick x Chemdawg. And more seeds. :slide:

Why don't we ever hear about a ThaiDawg? I looked through s'finder a little bit and didn't come up with much. That seems like it would be a good combo, no? :hmmmm:

Yes sir Gray...sure do agree with you. The closest that I've come to Thai x Chem may be the 2 Emerald Triangle's: Lost Coast OG & Cherry OG. ETS seems to adhere to belief that original Chem had Thai & Pakistani in it so its Lost Coast is what I saw as a "modern day update" with ETS' own Thai & Paki x Chem 4. Their Cherry took the LC OG & added its Cherry Thai. I had mentioned that that the Cherry is very Thai like...at least what my brain remembered as Thai propeties. :high-five:

Thanks con. Excellent, additional details on story that I think is most credible. I used to grow the "B" aka Chem Sister from clones sourced in Boulder Creek. Good but not as dynamic as the 91 seeds I favor. I like 91 & #4 over Sister & D, but D's no slouch. Hope you sample lots of Cali herb on your upcoming visit.

Drive by... You know alot of peoples don't realize autos have come along ways from the earlier plants,of the 'lowriders', strains. Breeders have been crossing alot of good genetics into them, making good smoke over the mid-rangers we saw in the past. Damn near as good as regular plants. maybe better. And now these 'Super Auto's, that have a longer veg cycle, make up to kilo plants. I have one over 9' going. Up to 145 day cycles. I need to catch up on my scrip's. Which I will soon.... Yeah NCW...I've seen your pic of that giant Thai in your garden. Very impressive! I just saw another pic of same Flash Seeds Muay Thai super auto in new HT...nearly 2 lbs. in 145 days. A towering plant! Wow! I grew 5 plants in the recent dedicated auto grow, but still too much of a rookie auto grower to say whether they're of comparable potency. I'd say close but need more experience to judge. Learned they do very well under "only" 300w of LED.

I'll do another auto grow at same time last indoor photos go into flower next spring. Good use of my veg tent at end of indoor season. Here are the auto strain seeds I've accumulated through promos & freebies: Chemdog, Ultra Lemon Haze, Bubba Kush, Sour Diesel, Gigabud, Blue Dream, & MK Ultra.

You know what's really cool, you can time the auto's to finish flower in mid-summer when the sun's high in the sky. Like End of June or early July. I now wish I'd have started that Muay Thai, the first of April. Mine I started on 4/20. Live, learn, and when we die, we are going to forget it all anyways..... Keepem Green

Still need that answer, if yes; I need dat cut lol

Not sure I understand your question SN. Vader? The Key Lime Pie seeds I have are by Burning Bush Nurseries. Indoors I only grow from seed, never cuts/clones. Precaution against pests. Ok w/ clones outdoors sometimes if something I really want/need. :Namaste:

Hey bright, I just went through the last few pages...holy cow, I just got some serious knowledge dropped on me. The autos came out great that WW was huge and the white MK was crazy looking!!

Great to see you back brother. Hope things are going well for you. See your new journal & going over today. I just started a new indoor batch after skipping the annual outdoor run to take a break. :passitleft:

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

It's good to be back around. Life can be funny, I had to take a break from everything for a while but have been trying to catch up over the last couple months. I didn't have a grow planned for a little while still but one thing led to another and....

Anyways good to see you're still doing your thing:high-five::bravo:

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Hello!! Back from my grow break & ready to go! Time away from what I love to do was good. Rejuvenate & energize my growing. Had gotten a tad stale imo. Lots of time to think on what & where to change things up & to go crazy buying seeds. Here's the line up...

Chems, ECSD, Haze, Deathstar, Sensistar & Cookie genetics
IMG_283613.jpg

Front row left to right:
Thug Pug Genetics Dead Banana (Deathstar x Banana OG)

Dr. Greenthumb/HSO Dedoverde Haze (was Orig. Amnesia x Haze now NL x Haze)

CH9 Luther Dogman x Trainwreck (LD is Chem 4 x Sensistar)

Back row left to right:

DinaFem DinaChem (true Chemdog line from JJ-NYC branch of Chemdog family tree)

Loud Seeds Headband (ECSD S1)

In House Genetics Gelato 41 x Dosido

In House Genetics DPD x Dosido

Pic taken at 4 wks. from seed except Dead Banana 3 wks. & Gelato 41 2 wks. from seed.

Changed up soil...highlights include small % of peat added, much greater % humus, castings, dairy manure, aeration, insect frass. More detail coming up. That insect frass in higher % has been fighting off the gnats. That yellow sticky in pic has dead gnats from last auto grow not this one. This time only a few spotted in a month. Zero in soil tub that cooked for 2+ months. Couldn't believe it. Still using BT as safeguard but best I can remember. For those familiar with benefits of chitin you know how good that shit is! Gonna talk more detail on frass & chitin later as think it is special.

Great to be back growing & hope my growing bros. & sistas are still around.:passitleft: :Namaste:

:welcome: Welcome Dutchess! Thank you for compliment...very nice of you. I'll head on over to your garden later today, but tell you what, you feel free to ask whatever you like over here because there are experienced & highly talented pot gardeners who visit here. Just hope some haven't drifted off during my break from growing. A lot of strain talk & seed collectors too. :Namaste:

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

God Bless you Brightlight.
My tents at 14" and I want to flip Oct.1. Im tired of them and want to run 8 clones. I popped the seeds July 1.
Are they too small to flip and should I defoil them? If so defoil heavy (all but the few top leaves?) or just a few fan leaves here and there. I plan to up pot after sexed. I read the defoil thread.

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

4D....defol is personal preference. I keep it as light/minimal as possible depending on shape/size of plant. Indoors yes since light for most comes only from above. Outdoors almost never, maybe a single leaf here & there. I'd caution against the heavy defol since leaves are photosynthesis factories, foundation of all growth & flowering. As far as when to flower...depends on your available space & overall setup. I grow in 2 gal. all the way & usually veg for 5-6 wks. :Namaste:

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Nice lineup. To me anything with sensie star is worth looking into. Damn all the strains around now adays. Gets confusing. But I'm looking foreward to seeing ya up and growing again. I just started a new indoor myself, close to the same age. Keepem Green
