re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED
Wow BL...lots of cool memories , i bet. I'm 57 and love R&B but the only one i've seen is SRV...for 16 bones , back during the "Couldn't stand the weather" tour, here in my hometown. Cheers brotha! Never get tired of the blues!
SRV.....yes sir!
Keep in mind that I'm an old fart but when we started going to live concerts at Avalon Ballroom & Fillmore, ticket was $2. Last yr. I paid close to $200 to see Joe Bonamassa. When I started following JB, it was around $40. I'm about priced out except for an occasional favorite artist.
I'm so jealous. I love the blues. Well, I love a lot of genres, but without the blues we wouldn't have some of the genres we have today. It's just something about how they all play the guitar....gives me goosebumps lol
Good points SN...blues guitar can almost be a religious moment. Some great new artists out there....Gary Clark Jr. is my current top guitar player.
Hmm thx for that it seems it's the same thing as OG Kush from Humboldt. Everybody says it came from Florida, also known as Florida OG. The White might be S1 or cross with sth else. By the way Scott from RD crossed TK to some of his plant called it Lee Roy, and community agrees it has both structure and smell of genuine OG.
Triangle as orig. OG story I've seen. Others say Triangle is just great OG that made its way east to FL. IDK. The story I think is most accurate (guess we'll never really know, which is part of the mystique) is that OG is West Coast creation off Chemdawg like ECSD is East Coast creation off Chemdawg. Here is synopsis of story. More detailed versions w/ names out on web too. Sure you've read them too.
"Kailua Kid from the Sierra Seed Company believes that in late 93’ a grower in northern California got his hands on the famous Chemdawg strain. He goes on to say that this was shared with a fellow grower from Sunset Beach who claimed he had a male that was the, “secret ingredient,” for breeding. The male was a cross of Lemon Thai and an Old World Paki Kush (possibly where the ‘Kush’ came from), and was an ideal mix for the Chemdawg. The buds became wildly popular in Los Angeles by ’95.
The urban myth is that the original grower of the new strain was handed a bowl when his friend mentioned that the Kush he was about to smoke was “so good because it was mountain grown.” Upon further inspection, the grower detected the recognizable scent of his own crop and corrected the man by saying, “This Kush isn’t mountain grown, its Ocean Grown Kush, Bro!” From that point on the name Ocean Grown Kush caught on and was shortened to OG Kush over time.
Then, when the original grower fled the country in ’96, he left cuts of his OG with some friends in Downey, California. These phenotypes were eventually spread to San Fernando Valley and Orange County, and later became known as SFV OG, and Larry OG. The SFV is similar to the original phenotype but is known to possess more sativa attributes, and the Larry is thought to be a phenotype of the SFV and the original OG Kush."
