Brightlight's Strain Fest: Organics & LED

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

That is one healthy lady brightlight. You're right, we're pretty spoiled now days. The 80s and 90s people were being put in prison for years for growing. The only thing available was clones if you were in the know. Occasional bag seed I'd you were lucky. I'm much happier with the way things are now. :thumb:

Louis is a stunner, Dam, she's nice  I hope that's a look I'll soon see. Looks a bit more thin leafed, with sharer serrations, than my Buddah Tahoe. If I had to to guess, after reading up on the lineage, that yours is the Louis crossed with Tahoe Kush, and I got the Louis x Tahoe OG. I enjoyed the synopsis, I'm really looking forward to how they both turn out. :Namaste: TheBlaze was also saying he enjoyed her. :cheer:

Howdy brightlight,

I'm going to make my purchase soon and wanted to get your input on a solid sour strain. Which sour would you recommend as the cream of the crop? I've never tried real sour diesel. I had a dinafem version but it was nothing like the descriptions I've read. Not even potent.

Hope this message finds you in great spirit my friend!

You're right dr.....still smile in slight disbelief that conditions & acceptance have come so far in my lifetime. Yet still a "stigma" surrounding its use let alone cultivation. But at my age don't care much what anyone thinks anymore & always happy & grateful that I can access & grow such great strains.

I've stuck with the Cali Connection Sour for years now. Listed as AJ cut it has never disappointed. I recommend the plain SD or the Sour OG/818 Headband. The recent DNA Sour Kosher was a real pleasant surprise & now has to be in the regular rotation. The DNA SD is also listed as AJ origin. TH also has a potent SD that I liked in its Sage n Sour & Ultra Sour.

My outdoor Buddha was a huge yielder. Close to 10 branches snapped off in late season rain. Not the fattest buds....decent even sized but full up & down the entire branch. The high was similar to straight Tahoe. Enjoying watching your grow on it.

Great results BL and some great buds in the jar! Congrats! I love your photo journal...Great pics and concise description of your grow. Trying to keep up with my journaling today. Have a great day!:cheesygrinsmiley:

Thank you brother light. Those are some solid recommendations. I'm getting all giddy just thinking about it. Heading over to Bonza right now to finalize the deal.

God bless you BL, not many people I would trust with this amount of certainty! :thanks:

Sounds good. The big 420 deal promotions are coming up! I've been reaching for the Sour Kosher a lot....really nice. I can't imagine anyone not liking this type & level of effect. Forgot to say before that I really like the SD in the Connoisseur SSSDH too. :passitleft:

Been awhile since I drove thru, That last pic remind me of the Cripit I had awhile back. Looks great GL in the season and Keepem Green

I'm ashamed to say I've missed this journal...until now. Being the lazy SOB that I am, I'm not going back to page 1, but if you have room for one more, I'm in for whatever lies ahead. Loving what you're doing, BL!

I do remember your Cripit pics....back when I 1st joined & remember thinking "holy moly!!" You PNW guys cook with those Stoney Girl strains.

Welcome Major....good to see you. For the outdoor growers/fans who aren't already following, go see the Major. Love in action.

Hey beast along w/ your ever-present pipe. Some autos coming up.

Today's update fueled by Ghost Train Haze #1. Tester from bottom tiny buds that air dry quick. If it works ok, things can only get better. RD strain description includes "powerful amped up high". Definitely higher on the voltage meter, real soaring initial buzz but not jittery/tweaky. So much interest I had to check it out. Good 1st impression. Would be a good one to try when going for sheer power type strain. Cutting tomorrow, pics soon.

SSSDH Harvested last wk., I had great anticipation for this strain. I grew out a full pack of regulars outdoors over several seasons. It easily hit the favorites list, maybe even top 5. Seed availability is irregular. Happily I finally landed a fem pk. While glad to get them, mini disappointment that the fems seem to be newly created version still w/ SD & SSH but not the RezDog original cut in the regulars. Oh well so what. Didn't matter. Man, I love this strain. Smooth, easy acceleration like driving a V8. Plenty strong & genuinely euphoric. Feel Good Special strain. Picked at ~75% cloudy. About right I think even though buds starting to look past peak. Smell still there...floral, vegetal along w/ dank type SD smell. Some SSH woody, nutty notes. Mid green w/ silvery trichome coverage. Perfect cannabinoid matches to my receptors.

Autoflowers
While current batch was flowering I started 5 autos in my veg tent. It's a 2x4 w/ 300w LED. I bought the TH MK Ultra Mind Control Box, which was a good deal giving me some MKU Autos & MKU Bubblegums along with the MKU's for very little more. 3 MKU Autos went in w/ a Dinafem White Widow & a Dinafem OG, both freebies.

All I can say is damn these autos are a lot of fun. Probably some beginner's luck, but they grow nicer than I ever imagined. I'd only grown 2 ever, both outside. A few quick impressions: grow fast like nothing I've ever seen, pistils before 4 wks. of life, stretch like mad, very easy to grow, MKU's look real close to ready to pick at 60 days total, yields look to be more than expected. The MKU's list "9 wks. flowering" so I didn't know whether that meant just flower or life of plant. It's got to be the latter. The Widow & the OG lists 70-80 days.

Check out these MKU pictures. Genetics clearly expressed in phenos....tall OG, squat G13. Smallest plant got 3 nodes busted off but was always odd w/ some twisty leaves, then albino flowers. A couple started producing chlorophyll but others stayed white. Under magnification lots of trichomes & also leaves, but all white. The photo MKU's ended up being a fine herb but gave me some trouble & weren't my best plants. These autos are easily better plants than the photos. Knowing entire cycle would be accelerated, these were grown using both organic & non organic products. I tried to use as much organics as I could but not everything.

Very cool albino expression!!

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Hi Brightlight,

That albino is trippy. I had some buds like that but I bleached them when they got too close to the LED. I hope yours turn out good. Mine were total crap lol!

SSSDH sounds so good. I've got 5 regulars I really need to grow. Everyone that reports on that strain has nothing but great things to say.

I'm really liking conesuer genetics. The White and the Strawberries and Cream were both fantastic. I've got their East Coast Cookies which I imagine will be phenominal. What other of their strains have you grown out?

Rare Dankness pure power is about the same conclusion I've come to. With the Venom OG being one of their most potent, I'm a little scared to try it lol!

I haven't seen anything that floats my boat on the 420 promotions. I'm going to hold off if nothing better pops up. Attitude and seedsman both have blah offerings IMHO.

Your garden looks phenominal. I wish I had a veg space I could play around in. But for now any Auto Flowers will have to go outside.

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Cool. And those white crowns look coated with fat white tric's...... Nice flip ya got growing on Keepem Green

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Great update and reports BL, and the photos are so clear I can taste them. I'm stoked to hear you are still enjoying the SSSDH, and that the fems didn't disappoint, that's a big relief. I do still have those regs that are supposed to be from the old stock ;) I love it when my brain is like - 'yay, you found the right weed' haha. Enjoying the show brother.

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED
