Happy New Year!

Green Crack
No experience with this strain, but had both Cali Connection & HSO versions so growing them together. Conradino knows his stuff & thought highly of strain. I think his was the HSO version. A couple of pictures in early flower....not quite 4 wks. of 12/12. The flowers look quite different....HSO has thick, very white, quill pistils & more slender buds while CC has fatter, rounder buds w/ more pistils. Leaves maybe slightly thinner on the CC. Both deep green, HSO a little darker. CC is slightly fruity smelling (like many CC strains) while HSO is sharp, flinty mint scent.

December Harvest
Dutch Passion Mekong High
Harvested last month. I've grown it outdoors but thought it'd do better inside with more light. This was the wild ass leggy plant that grew over 3' tall in a 2 gal. pot. A 75/25 S/I but the indica is only evident in its reasonable finishing time. This Vietnamese sativa reminded me of SE Asian strains through & through. A positive, smooth, clear high that gets me locked into whatever I'm doing at the time. Not the strongest but strong enough. For me not every strain has to "swing for the fences". A quality high that is enjoyable & handy to have around. Wish I could describe the smell...very exotic, very different...something like the inside of a cedar/wood chest or some kind of incense or spice.

Oh man let the best plant win. Good call on the crack battle CareStaker. This ain't Ronald Reagans' crack battle lol.

I know what smell your talking about brightlight, my kali mist has a similar smell to your description. The high sounds about right too. I'm wondering how much Vietnamese is in the Kali.

I've decided that hybrids are for me lol. I've got a strawberries and cream going from connoisseur genetics right now that is just absolutely amazing. Its Kyle kushman Strawberry Cough X the white s1 reversed. The thing is already making bud so heavy I've had to tie them up and I'm not even finished with week 5 yet. They're already filling in becoming dense and very frosty. Can't wait for the results of the test.

I wish more people would do this kind of test, buy 2 packs of beans from two different vendors and then take the time to grow them out side by side. Thanks for taking one for the team my friend.

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

very nice my friend :high-five:

loved the smoke report. I'm that way too with varieties, i prefer to have a lot of different highs in my toolbox rather than just one or two.

your flowering girls are looking fantastic, can't wait for that aswell :Namaste:

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

I've never had the chance to try Green Crack but have always heard and read good reports. It will be a real treat to see the side by side HSO/CC grow off. The battle of the Crack Queens is on!!

For me not every strain has to "swing for the fences". A quality high that is enjoyable & handy to have around.

Well said my friend. I feel the same way. Those trippy and racy "dude where's my car?" sativa's and heavy hitting couch lock indica strains definitely have their place - for the right occasions.
But in my case anyway, I find that my preferred go to strains are normally 70/30 to 50/50 (sativa/indica) hybrids that have the rough edges of both the sativa and indica parents smoothed away and offer an effect that works well for almost any occasion.

Anyways, thanks for the report on your Mekong High girl. The pic of those lovely sativa buds remind me of the old school imported sativas that used to come around back in the day. Brings back some good memories. :rollit:

May I ask how long it took for your Mekong girl to finish up?
I've seen this one listed as an 8 to 9 week finisher. If that's the case then this would be an extremely quick finish for a SE Asian sativa heavy strain.

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Top of the day to you Brightlight :high-five:

I am growing an HSO Green Crack outdoors next summer so will follow your grow with interest. Bought too many seeds in Amsterdam in December but now you have me thinking about getting some Mekong High seeds....it looks mega old school :thumb: I am also thinking of ordering some Columbian Punto Rojo seeds from Cannabiogen (all Conradinos fault )

Both plants look happy and vigorous, go Bright!!! :goodjob:

Crack Battle!

Haha, this should be fun. Love your Mekong, that's some very sativa leaning hybrid.

"Crack Battle!" Dutch Passion did a great job preserving the Vietnamese traits while shortening the finish. Some good "pro level" grows & interesting strain facts/story on DP website.

Seems quite a few Asian strains have that similar fragrance/smell. Yes sir doc...agree with you on hybrids. So many but some real good ones to suit every taste & interest. I keep getting sent off on different directions & The White is one of them. After the White Master I look at all White strains. Kyle Kushman always gets my attn. & respect. Man everything you grow is frosty! GC seeds were freebies. Together is good chance to check out the strain.

Alway a pleasure to pass by this thread:high-five:

Always good to see you swing by too!

Me to brother :-B I can get easily used to just one.

The more the better! Strains, strains, strains....we're addicted. :theband:

"Racy" isn't for me either. Can be physically uncomfortable. "Electric, psychedelic" is different & fine. After medical started in CA it was like a gorge out with all the new strains available. I'd vaped some Grey Mist & went to pick up a holiday bakery order. It was so racy as I was driving on the freeway I will never forget that drive. Whew! Mekong finished in 69 days of 12/12. Picked at ~ 50/50 clear/cloudy but buds & pistils looked like mature bud. Strong fragrance was still there.

Too many seeds...you're among friends here! Intend to grow all I buy but have had some "what am I doing?" flashes after another seed buy.

Good to see ya brother. Thanks.

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Great growing, bright. This HSO GC looks identical with mine. This variety usually expresses as slightly lanky spearheaded sativa pheno and squaty indica one. Both have the same euphoric high. For the finishing time I think it's the best sativa-dominant strain there is. I think I pulled mine after 5 weeks outdoor on 11/13. Nice buds of Mekong as well long and hairy :passitleft:

If mine looks like yours, I'm on the right track. Good bud description as that's what I'm seeing. HSO GC is shortest of this batch at 2' tall. CC GC is a bit taller. The HSO is farthest along of all 6 showing quite a few red pistils already. Will take pics soon.:thanks:

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Happy daze bright. Love the crack battle. The December harvest sounds great. And the buds look beautiful. Great work as always.
Love seeing your plants and buds they always look proper.

I agree Dusty. Some of the finest examples on 420 Mag. :Namaste:

Thank you DK, CareStaker, & doc. Compliments from accomplished growers are much appreciated. And thanks Rad & others for reps, also appreciated.:Namaste:

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Tent view at 37 days 12/12
MK Ultra, left front & back, CC GC center front, HSO GC center back, Sour Kosher right front, Tahoe OG right back. The Tahoe has acted slightly overfed w/ turned down tips throughout her life. I usually do a last FIM before 12/12, but canopies were so even I skipped it. Should have done the FIM as stretch powered up the main stems leaving canopies a bit lower from light than usual.

Sour Kosher
Photo is just past 5 wks. 12/12. Lacks the Sour Diesel skunky, fuel smell I like so well. Not fragrant yet. Getting frosty & very sticky....beyond sticky, syrupy is better description. Gooey to the touch. So far, so good.
IMG_224819.JPG

Tangilope
Tangie fragrance present but not as pungent as earlier Kosher Tangie. The stickiest strain of the grow. A strong sativa hybrid...fast hitting, slightly racy & antsy at peak. Sativa traits like smooth, uplifting, clear, happy, euphoric not good descriptors for this one. More of a power, electric sativa. This works when I want something strong.

IMG_218123.jpg

Jacky White
Pine, forest, hazey fragrance. Very frosty. Enjoyable strain...euphoric, positive well being, relaxation type high. The indica is evident in the high for both JW & Tangilope. Slight but noticeable. Mekong high was pure sativa with zero indica properties. While secret, JW's indica side could very well include some of Paridise's flagship strain Sensi Star. This strain is better than the rather scant attention it gathers. I stumbled into it. About 5 yrs. ago friend contacts me from Amsterdam saying his hotel is real close to a Paradise shop so pick a couple of strains out or he'd pick himself & hurry up because he's heading out to airport. Went right to Paradise website & quickly chose 2 sativa hybrids. That's how I got into JW & Delahaze.

Bulletproof Coffee
After making MBM butter I'm left with this "butter sludge". Heard of bulletproof coffee but never tried it so looked up some recipes. It's coffee, butter, coconut oil w/ dashes of vanilla extract & sweetener. Tasted pretty good even though I usually drink coffee black. A little kick to the caffeine & will be a good way to use some of the sludge.
