Boo’s Perpetual Grow Journal

And we’re off again. All heads are upwards. I’m going to need to do some tucking and defoliating soon...

Actually, I did supercrop them on 30 May. The two in the tent were bent completely in half. I waited for almost two weeks before flipping to let the side shoots get positioned as new tops.
Ok wow! They’re really going nuts then! :D They were pretty big at the start so not at all surprising I gues!!

carry on!! :laughtwo:

The Cindys indoor and out are doing well. I have to say that I am pleased with the ones in the tent. The husband come in this afternoon and helped me position them better in the tent - have a 12” height difference is really helpful!). My seedlings are 50/50 so far. The Zkittles came up great. The Bruce Banner germinated fine bun ever made it out of the soil. I dropped another one a couple of days ago and will likely put it in soil tomorrow. ive been thinking about lights lately too.... should I be at 100 percent now?

i could edit the above but will just add to it by saying “the” husband should say MY husband came in and helped. Fine bun? That means that Bitch never grew! Fine bun...I think I will try to make a fine bun tomorrow! Sorry... The Bruce Banner #2 is getting a root. Hopefully this one works. I think seeds are too expensive. Just throwing that out there...

All four 99s are still alive. The two outside are over 6’ tall in certain areas. I need to supercrop them again soon. They are drinking a gallon each every two days - using the lift method. It has been hot and humid with an almost constant breeze for at least a week now. Unfortunately it is the time of year for Japanese Beetles and they have discovered them. I guess I will use Neem Oil on them.

The two inside are doing well. They have continued to stretch in the areas that weren’t supercropped recently, but they seem to be slowing. There appear to me to be lots of flowers. Will try to attach a pic. Taken Saturday, 27 June

I’m wondering if I should defoliate. All of the side stalks have buds at the canopy and thebushiness of the leaves on the two plants is the tops of the branches that I supercropped. Hopefully that makes sense. I’m still using only Dynagrow nutrients because I’m a pussy and afraid to use MC. ;)

The second Bruce Banner I dropped has popped up out of the soil, which makes me happy. :)
The little Zkittles seedling seems to be happy, so hopefully all continues in that direction.

I‘ve cured some of the Pineapple Express and it’s a good smoke with the kind of high I enjoy. After a conversation with my daughter about giving MJ a try again, she took me up on the offer and is really enjoying the PE as well. I told her I would grow something for her if she did some research and picked something out. And she did! However, I am having trouble finding the strains she mentioned (Durban Poison, Green Crack, Super Silver Haze, Blue Dream, Cherry Pie). I would like some of these in an Auto. I’ve seen journals with the Durban and the Blue Dream but haven’t had much luck finding them in some of the sponsor sites, and since I don’t have a vault of seeds yet I need to order something that will come quickly once I order. I will caveat that by saying that the “seed bank” aspect of some of the sponsors is a bit overwhelming for me since I don’t really understand what is coming from where...stoopid, I know. Auto seeds has a Dreamberry auto that is a cross between Blue Dream and Berry Ryder. It sounds delicious but...I’ve only ordered from a non sponsor and recently from Dr. Seeds (and was very happy with the quick delivery!). Anyway, suggestions appreciated. Hope all are well and continuing to stay safe out there. Peace.:peace:

The pictures from yesterday didn’t do the flowers justice. Hopefully these two show a little better the number of bud sites I have. They are 17 days post flip. Still wondering If I should supercrop those few tall nodes
CF6A90B5-5BF5-4CBD-B178-C88E18FD5E5C.jpeg
or leave them be. They are about 14” from the light at the moment.

I swear the two outside look like they’ve got some pre-flower going on. Will grab a pic when I
can get a good view.

Looks great Boo :D

FYI - You can also ‘supercrop’ in a slightly different way. You don’t break the stem completely or bend it over. You just pinch slightly in one of the top nodes spaces - as high up as you can while still being able to get your fingers between nodes comforatbly, where things are still soft.

So you just pinch enough to bruise it. Sometimes it breaks the pith in the stem a little bit and the tip goes a bit floppy but they stand up again very soon.

This can help to slow down that particular branch a bit.

Only do it if the plant is still stretching. There’s no advantage once flowers are ‘set’. Yours look close to set that’s why I mention that bit.

So that’s just another option to full-on supercropping. I don’t think you’ll gain anything from a full supercrop now..

I have also heard that technique I’ve described here called ‘supercropping’.

@Weedseedsexpress has the Durban, green crack, super silver haze and blue dream.

I didnt describe that very well - words are hard,

So - when you pinch, the tip above does bend and fall over, it flops. And they stand up again very soon - just that time allows the others to catch up, apparently. I will try to find a post i made where I showed it... I think i posted one... :hmmmm:

EDIT: ok this post. It’s a good example, too, because what I do there is actually halfway between what I’m describing and the HST version you are using here LOL! And you’re using it to great effect I might add!

In the post below mine (that I linked there) @Graytail mentions this method I’m referring to and a bunch of growers I used to follow used to call that supercropping too. It’s just a bend of the tips like I mentioned before, and they stand up again very soon.

So in my linked post I do it a little bit lower down, but not as low as the HST version and, like the ‘gentle bend’ version, the intention is that that they stand up again quite soon - which those ones did.

I use the the gentle tip-bending version when/if I’m trying to help an already relatively even canopy to stay even :) It’s good for little ‘slow down!’ tweaks here and there as needed.

Alright. Here are pics I promised last night. I’m still figuring out how to quote certain sections of posts, add names to pictures, Etc. I love my iPad but there are differences between it and a laptop... first pic Is the little glass flower screens.

I couldn’t find the third one - maybe in the pipe in the shop. Second pic is the GRAV.

I sure love this little guy. Tiny little bowl on it but really the perfect size for just enough weed and the little flower screen works so well in it. I’ve never liked metal screens.

Third pic is of the massive knuckle on the Cindy in the tent. I am going to need to do more super cropping but will practice on the ones outside first. Fourth pic is of both plants in the tent. They are a little droopy but I am getting them a little drier than usual to help work on my watering practices - I plan to reread @Emilyas watering tutorials again tonight.

I am going to need to defoliate soon but wanted to wait until after their next feeding which should be tonight or tomorrow. I think I will give them half the recommended MC at that time. Quick question - how much should I expect them to take in, in a 5 gallon bucket before it starts to run off? These two were tall and lanky so I just bent them in half. Fifth pic is of the Cindys outside the building. Although I thought I had made them more 90 degrees you can see that one of them isn’t truly “flat” I’m going to fix that soon. ;) You can see the growtent through the window, and they fact that we haven’t finished painting that one panel!

That’s it for now. Stay stoned my friends!
Kushman chiropractic. Grab a stem, and with the other hand quickly twist. You will hear or feel a pop or snap from inside. Then you can bend and tie.

Or you can squeeze till you feel a pop but this is harder and more destructive than kuskmanns method of supercropping.

Hi Amy, thanks for stopping by! That squeeze method is interesting and I will definitely keep that in my bookmarks.

You described it perfectly! I know the feeling of the branch before it is at that breaking point now (Thank you @InTheShed). I’m eager to try it but getting a little paranoid with the ones in the tent because they are marching along fairly well and the flowers are getting bigger everyday. I will definitely try it with the two outside. I’ve got at least one, maybe two more cropping opportunities with them. I swear they have preflower stuff going on....need to get a pic.

Hi VG, thanks for stopping by! I’m looking for autos and not seeing those -but it could be user error! I ended up ordering from Auto Seeds: Dreamberry Auto and Berry Ryder Auto plus I got two free Ultra Lemon Haze Autos and one free Auto Chemdog. Hopefully they make it soon! Have you gotten that new glassware broken in yet? :bong:
Sorry. I missed that you wanted autos. It was late. I'll blame that. Lol

They do have 19 auto strains but none of the ones you listed.

I haven't tried my glass hammer yet but the bong is the best one I've ever had. The BF even likes it and he doesn't usually do bongs.
Got him so stoned the other night, found him standing in the kitchen laughing at the AC unit.

LOL. Thanks for that! I haven’t laughed out loud for a while.

Yay sproutlings!

Feel free to stick with the DynaGrow if you want to use up what you have, but there's no problem changing horses in mid-stream to MC if you want. I did it when I ran out of Fox Farms in the middle of my Peyote Critical last year and it didn't miss a beat.
Im not sure what is going on but one of the outdoor Cindys appears to have the beginnings of bloom...? Have a look and please offer an opinion?
Well, the days are getting shorter, and BeezLuiz said his outdoor plants are showing pre-pistils already.

Hi Mr. Shed! Thanks for stopping by. :thanks:

Yes, YAY for sproutlings! A fresh start. I think I will go ahead and finish out the Dynagrow foliage and bloom and then move to the MC. I am almost out of both of them so it’ll be good to get rid of those little bottles. I also bought a big bag of Pro Mix HP so the wee new ones are in that throughout their grow. That is a really interesting mix - I’d like to make my own, perhaps in the fall when there isn’t so much maintenance going on for us on the property. I’m already looking for a cheap used cement mixer...lol. Why work harder than you need to, right?
Only one of the outdoor Cindys is showing pre-pistils, which is curious to me since they are literally side by side. The other one is at least a foot taller... Should I start the Bloom nutrients now or wait a week? I guess I need to do a super, well no, a MEGA crop on those ladies soon. We are still getting 14 hours per day here in Central VA but the daylight time is dropping by almost a minute a day now. Full moon tomorrow too.

This is our first full-time year here at the property and I have noticed the shift in the movement of the sun and have had to do a little kabuki dance with various shade loving flowers all of a sudden since they are getting to much sun. Just having the opportunity to notice little things like that brings me joy since I finally have time to pay attention to them and, well...breathe. So, yeah. The outdoors are starting to flower! Yay. And thank you for confirming that 1. I am not crazy and 2. I am learning. :cheesygrinsmiley:
