Boo’s Perpetual Grow Journal

Well, I pulled the SPOG today - virtually no roots. Because I am watering challenged... Shoot. I also harvested another PE that seemed stunted. There is not a lot of smokable stuff there (although my husband thought it was a lot! Lol. I truly appreciate his support. :) ). I took this opportunity to practice a wash and dry as I could. Tomorrow I will try to begin the curing process. there are a few styles of the process that I’ve read about, just need to decide.

I still have a PE in a 3 gallon pot and the other PE that was a few weeks behind the others and is doing well. I’m gonna try real hard to unscrew the watering cycle in them ASAP. That late plant has helped me realize what they should look like in a normal situation - I am a visual learner... It is hot and humid here now and will likely be that way for the next three months. My little Playhouse doesn’t have any sort of cooling or heating currently and it is hot and humid in the building and I can’t imagine what it would be like in the tent. So, it’s a little problem to figure out, darn Cindys refuse to harden outdoors. I’m sure that is another result of my poor treatment of them so far. More to come.
Oh. The bigger stunted plant that I harvested today - I trimmed it in the pot, and put that little thing back outside with the other two. Think it will grow again?

Ordered and delivered to the US in a week. My next project after the PEs. :)

Even in flower I use the lift method to tell when to water. I just water a day earlier in flower than I would in veg. If they're not drying out then wet feet will cause all sorts of issues, including yellowing of the leaves.
I think you are correct about the wet feet.... the SPOG had a very weak root system. I cut the other smaller one‘s stems off of the main stalk and put it back outside just because...Philippe Bleu had an interesting experiment with re-growing an auto so you never know! Its roots are likely screwed up too But I will have two more after that one! One question about the outdoor grows - should I have the pots elevated vice sitting on the ground? I hope you are well!

Hi all. Happy strawberry Rhubarb Pie day! I got the lights set up in the tent and managed to fit 3 Cindy 99s in it. I’ve got the lights set up and they are 24” away at 50% the power. One is on the deck outside the Playhouse. Dunno what I’m going to do about that.. I’ll try harden to harden it but I‘ve done the same with the PEs and no issues so.... The weather is so hot and humid here. 90 degrees today. I am posting some pics of they way they look today for input as to flipping the lights as well as the amount of light that I’ve started with. They have all twisted their growth towards the light. There will not be any new growth along that flat plane of the bent stem, correct? I need to prune them but I’m not sure where I should do it. I’ve seen pictures/diagrams here of leaves that you should and shouldn’t trim and it kind of doesn’t make sense to me because I also see people bending and topping and trimming straight up the stem, Yada, Yada, Yada.... what I would like to do is get them flipped and then start feeding them with mega crop. But I need to try to do it right because I want a harvest! Thanks all!

Once you flatten the stem, any node between the bend and the top should become an additional top given enough time, as long as you keep the old top flat. If the old top gets higher than the bend then the plant realizes that there is still a top on that branch and sends the growth hormones there. If you keep it down the lowers will get the hormones and grow up.

I don't think there's a single way to trim them all, as they have different structures in their own way. For example, the first pic plant has a lot of lower growth where the second pic plant does not.

And when you flip is always a function of tent space: height for stretch or width to keep supercropping (to keep them away from the light if you don't have the height).

Thanks Shed. They made it through the night at half power on the lights. We had a workman show up unannounced at 0630 this morning and I had left the big Cindy on the deck outside of my little play house since it won’t fit in the tent......needless to say it was a heart pounding beginning to the morning! ;) It is so humid here already today - the tent was dripping with condensation on the inside. Is that normal? I’ve got a hygrometer/thermometer thingy coming tomorrow. I’m going to continue to try to harden the Cindy. As hardy as they have been through out the last few months I don’t understand why they wont get used to it like the PEs did. Ah well, for now I am stuck until this dude leaves since he’s basically right in front of the Playhouse. Stay cool out there! :yummy:

last week there was a discussion on another thread of new glass along with bling and whether a bong was sentimental etc, and there were people chiming in about how children were gifting paraphanalia to their moms and dads. There was a beautiful cobalt blue looking bong that was shared and I thought it was gorgeous and recently realized (I think) that I bought that piece - maybe - a couple weeks ago in
clear glass? I also bought some cool little glass flower like screen things. Anyone know how to explain what they are and how they help? They seem to make. Very nice pull from the little guy. Apologies for being a grown kid in a candy shop! :bongrip:
Haha I think we all feel like kids in a candy store here, do you have a pic of the glass, might figure out what the glass flower screens are for.

Flower screens are just little bits of glass that you put in you pipe before loading it. It keeps ash from shooting into your mouth like a metal screen does.

I have gotten mixed up and have been posting what I thought were journal entries but I didn't post them HERE. Doh! So I will redo here. I have harvested the four Pineapple Express autos. I had some issues along the way which were totally self induced, and I hopefully learned from it. I do have some buds harvested and have tried a couple of air dried buds and they had a good flavor, smooth smoke, and decent high. So, all wasn’t lost. I decided to put only two Cinderella’s in the tent ( the two smaller ones) and managed to harden the two larger Cindys so they are outside/behind the playhouse. They seem pretty happy but they are experiencing a wacky weather cycle here with 60 degree temps in June, rain, wind, etc. The thickness of the bend on one of the smaller Cindys is amazing. It thickened up almost overnight. I will grab a pic tomorrow when lights are back on. I need to water/feed them tomorrow and since I switched the lights on Saturday I’m assuming it’s time for flowering nutes vice veg nutes, sooo I guess I will give them the dynagrow bloom nutes in the morning. I’m wondering how long it will take for them to go to flower - they are 100+ days in veg, curious if that makes a difference?
I dropped two new seeds this weekend and they were put into peat pots this morning. I’ve got a Bruce Banner and a Zkittles hopefully on deck for the rest of the summer. I plan to grow them outside. Fingers crossed. :high-five: Have a nice night!

High Boo! Finally made it over to join the show :ciao:

you might be remembering the Jane West by GRAV hammer/bubbler pipe i posted on my journal a few days ago... that I hanker after. I know they do other colours of that design but not a clear one As far as I know. Can you pot a picture of your new piece? And the glass flowers too!?

I’m super keen to see your C99 finish out - I have some C99 seed that I haven’t run yet

It looks to me like it’s already very crowded in that tent and it might be wise to consider just flowering 2 of them out in there. INce you change the lights to flowering times, the pants will grow like the clappers for a little while (the flowering stretch) so while we always want a pretty nicely developed plant before we flower, we also want to have enough available space left for the flowering stretch.

You asked a question back there about the moisture/humidity. Dripping tent walls in the morning are not desirable! And in flower that could be disastrous

WHen lights go out and temps drop, RH always spikes. Growers handle this in different ways, including using dehumidifiers, running tents open etc. My aim for RH is to keep it 55-65% during veg (lights on or off) and between 45-55% during flower. Currently I have autos in flower and a photoperiod still in veg and am hedging my bets a little at around 58% and keeping the fattest nearly finished auto near the tent opening and leaving it ope overnight when the RH spikes a bit.

ANyhoo! I didn’t come here to rave on about all of that! Stream of consciousness took over ... came to say :ciao:  :passitleft:

Welcome Amy! Thanks so much for the post! I did make the decision to only flower two plants in the tent. They were the smallest ones that I just basically supercropped in half. I put the other two outside and behind my little building. I will post a picture of both sets soon. I have been leaving the tent open during the day since the humidity has been so high inside AND outside but at least they get a little breeze and they look okay so far. They are 3-4 days from flip and today they had a little skunk/sweet smell to them, which was nice. I read somewhere here to rub the stem and see what it smells like (so many journals I’ve been trying to read at the same time!) and the stem was a little gasoliney I guess. Not bad though. I definitely need to tuck and strip some lower leaves and will likely have to bend a few more but I am pleased with the supercropping @InTheShed helped me with. There are lots of tops in the tent! The ones outside are larger and each have three bends. They are getting big...I need to figure out the next bends on them too.

I’ve ordered a couple of clip on fans and ProMix for my next auto grow as well as hygrometers for the drying and curing process. I need to look into a small ac unit and a dehumidifier. We recently replaced a nice, but older stove that had a convection oven in it which had a blower mounted underneath it to push air out. My husband snagged it and suggested I might be able to use it....I’m taking that as an offer to figure out how to utilize it and install!

The GRAV.... I met up with my “dealer” several weeks ago and we were able to sit outside and have a couple beers. That led to us finding a smoke shop and the rest is history. I had stashed it to “christen” it in my new space, and then saw your pic (and remembered I had it)! It looks like the same one only clear - need to go find it in your journal! Such a tiny little bowl, with a very smooth and clean pull. The little flower thing is great too! I need to clean it and then will send a pic of them. I’ve got a huge bong that my daughter gave me but I now notice how much I’m wasting using it vice the GRAV. It’s a great little unit. Now I am stream of conscience typing. Haha. Thanks again for stopping by and for the advice! :passitleft:

Yes! The three I bought are slightly smaller but the same design. That’s so funny. Have you used any of them yet? I got my three for $5. Pics tomorrow!
Not yet but I have a glass pipe that I haven't used in years and needs a serious cleaning, I just recently found some alcohol to make oil with so I'll use some to clean the pipe lol
