Boo’s Perpetual Grow Journal

Here are a couple of trich pics. There seems like a good amount of cloudy in there. I'm thinking if I am forced to harvest early it will likely be a jittery buzz. I could possibly grind this with some CBD to get the effect I desire...?

Looks like mold to me so cutting it back will get rid of what's visible but those spores are probably all around so it will only progress in other areas too.
So, chop chop? It is still wet and humid here and supposed to get into the 90s again today. Fun times. As I've been sitting on the front stoop researching bud rot one of the giant woodpeckers we have around here landed in the top cable of the power lines, got shocked and dropped from the top to the ground. He is still alive...and now in a box by the porch. Poor thing. He seems to be coming out of it but that was a loooong fall.

You can take the moldy areas off carefully as you said and keep it in a salve bin and hopefully that's all that's affected. @InTheShed puts all his waste in his salve bin but I'm not sure if he classifies mold as waste.

I don't have a salve bin. I've been cutting sizable buds off every other day or so. It is catching up to me.... I'm gonna take her, all ready rolled a morning J to prep for the deed. Wish me luck! And thank you as usual for your help!

Nope, in fact I do a tighter trim when I bud wash to help with the drying afterwards. Let them hang dry for a few hours after before putting in the fridge if you are doing the slo and dry method
Ok. Here are pics for you (and me). I think they are almost done? A few of these buds have had the bud rot already cut out and a few still need minor surgery. They are very thick and dense. I could only attach 10 pics so that's about half of them. I'm thinking since I've got the drying rack thing maybe I should break them apart into smaller sections?

Yoikes!

Big buds are great for bag appeal but when you have issues such as rot the smaller the better. Don't go crazy or they'll dry too fast but cut any big ones in half or thirds and you should be fine.

That should take the edge off the jittery!

Poor thing. Birds land on high tension lines all the time so I wonder if that line is safe generally!

You're in the perfect conditions for rot so chopping was the best idea. What did you wash in?

I tend to toss moldy buds as the salve bin has grown to 5 boxes of leaves, roots, and stems. Don't save.
So I thought a tight trim would be best for budwashing. Too much?
Never too tight for buds with spores floating around.

I'd be concerned about low and slow for buds on a plant with mold. I'd want to drive the moisture out as fast as possible.
they'll dry too fast
I think that's a great idea. I would try to get those buds down into the high low 60% ranges ASAP. Fans on high, especially if the ambient RH is high.

Are these broken down small enough? I need to do more trimming still. The Rh in my house ( where I am trimming) is 52 right now. Have not washed them yet. Sticky fingers!

The colas were stacked and pulled apart like orange slices...in big slices! That was good since I found some bud rot that wasn’t visible from the outside. :high-five:

It was quite surprising and I wondered about the safety of it myself! We had it out front with me for a while and it started to perk up a bit. I remembered that there is a wildlife sanctuary not to far away and they were glad to take it for rehab. So that was a good thing.

I used the H2O2 method vice the lemon juice and baking soda method.

p
This plant is so big there is no reason to hang on to them. :meatballs:

I found that out today!

buds in the dryer, fans on high! :cheesygrinsmiley:
Im tired now...:thanks:

Sorry to hear about the rot- that's a real bummer...:(
Even with the early harvest she should give you quite a bit of good smoke- tempering it with a little cbd
is a good idea if she proves to be a little too "zippy" for you.
And there's always a chance that she'll smoke alright as-is ...
