Boo’s Perpetual Grow Journal

Thanks so much VG. I hope you are feeling better. One day at a time. Right now it is pouring down rain, lightening and thundering. This is a test for her. I'm tired of jumping thru hoops every day for that plant. I may cull her tomorrow...
Kyle is a happy guy. So what I take from this is that genetics is important and phenotype characteristics are brought out by the environment the plant is grown in. I had five C99 seeds from this non-sponsored seed company. One didn't germinate, two in the tent are very similar and the one outside is a weirdo compared to the other. I bought the Pineapple Express autos from same seed company. Of the 5, one didn't germinate, one was a SPOG, one went to flower several weeks after, the other two, the other two were similar. So I guess my lesson here is that perhaps I should buy from a seed source that has a better reputation? How do I figure that out? Buy more seeds? Sorry if I'm a Dolt. :hmmmm:

Happy Friday. Should I be worried about these?

Yes, pist
I don't know what you think it is but I don't see anything untoward in those pics except the raindrops! The top pics are just the bracts that grow at the nodes, and I know that @Amy Gardner likes to collect them separately and smoke them as a set!

Not sure what you are focusing on in the bottom pics. Pistils?
Yes, pistils! Thanks for looking. Do you mind having a trichrome check? Should I be looking at the head or the stem also?

Your ladies are looking good. Here’s a couple of thread on checking your trichomes that I’ve found to be helpful.

Thanks BigD! I have those charts bookmarked as well. I think I'm just having trouble seeing them well. I need to rig up a tripod or something so I can keep the camera still and also turn off the fans in the tent... Soon.

Some days I feel like I just can't win... The Cindy's in the tent look terrible and tired. The buds are fine but the rest of the plants is just exhausted looking. I decided to give the SNS 203 a go with the outdoor plants so I gave them all their first dose today. The really bad news is I discovered a rotted bud on my blooming outdoor Cindy and it had a caterpillar inside of it. DAMMIT! Not sure what to do about that, except shed a tear or two in her memory. Help?

spray your plants with some Monterey B.t. That’s what I use for caterpillars.
Great advice, BigD! Safer® also makes a BT concentrate-little tiny bottle, but it makes like 10 gallons of spray, and you can spray every day if you want to, right up to harvest.
it had a caterpillar inside of it. DAMMIT! Not sure what to do about that,
I had an outdoor Cheese last year that the caterpillars got to (Until I started spraying with BT)
I just dug the dead stuff (and the caterpillar ;) ) out, and left the rest of the bud to finish- by harvest time,
those buds were just as big and healthy as the untouched ones.
After digging the dead stuff out, I also gave the affected buds a couple of blasts with straight (3%) peroxide to kill any uglies that might be lurking in there.
If you found one caterpillar, there's probably more- look all the buds over closely- if you see any brown or tan spots on them, you need to dig into that bud, or at least spread it open a little to check for the little buggers- if you find one, pull it out with tweezers, and shoot a little peroxide into that bud where the caterpillar was- it won't hurt the bud, but it'll stop any rot that may be starting in there.
