Boo’s Perpetual Grow Journal

Your plants look great, Boo! Does the Safer's BT have the same ingredients as the homemade BT spray @BeezLuiz uses on his?

And, for this ⬇︎? You absolutely are due for a good outdoor harvest.

OMG. They are both really going to town! But, I KNOW it ain’t over til it’s over and you’ve been there from the beginning of my outdoor grows….I think I’m due for a good outdoor harvest! :high-five:

Only took me 146 pages of adventures to get here but better late than never.

Your outdoor girls are great, and Im waiting to see the auto girls.
I’m honored that you went on that 146 pages of adventures! Welcome DV8!

So, it has rained here every day for the last week and the outdoor gals have been showing me bud rot. I have been cutting off the buds that have rot on them and so far there have been no little🐛 in them so that’s a positive thing. I’ve also been spraying the cut areas with a 50/50 H2O2/water solution to hopefully kill any remaining spores around the area. The rot has mainly been on Dream Queen, of course because I’ve gushed so much about her. Weather forecast is sunny and glorious for the next week so I’m hoping it will slow down a bit and allow me to drag them along for a couple more weeks. In my efforts to get a good look at all sides of the largest colas I snapped the stalk where DQ was topped…..aaaaarrrrggghh! But, a little glue and some electrical tape fixed it right up!

Here are a few pics of the outdoor gals in their current condition. First, Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

She is still as beautiful as ever. That’s it for the outdoor ladies - please say a little prayer to the canna gods that I get these ladies across the finish line without having to fight to much with Mother Nature!

The autoflowers…are 4 weeks old now and about 2” tall. Oof! Tangie has just started to show flower.

I had them in my seedling cabinet in the basement and they clearly did not like the environment. So I did this today:

Round 2 re do! I set up my little SMD light upstairs over the washing machine where I’ve had very good results before so we shall see what happens. 🤞

That’s all for now, thanks for looking in! :peace:

All I see is amazing outdoor plants! And some Spogs® in the making. :)

I hope the weather dries out and stays that way through harvest. :nervous-guy: I would hate for you to lose a lot to rot after last year. 👿
Thanks Shed. I’m hoping the new babies sprout without issue…and I will cull the Spogs. :cheesygrinsmiley: I really feel like the outdoor ladies could be ready to harvest by the end of September - and I WILL harvest before then if I’m forced to. There is a LOT of weed on these two gals so I’m trying to remain calm about cutting chunks out here and there. :meditate:PUDC is just covered with trichs. She shines like a diamond! 💎

Beautiful ladies out there, Boo! Sorry to her about the rot- hopefully, the weather works in your favor till the girls are done...🤞
So I did this today:
I was thinking the same thing, I really hate to advise someone to start over...but, sometimes, there's nothing else to do...
Best of luck on the replacements..:goodluck:
But, a little glue and some electrical tape fixed it right up!
If something is going to crack, "right down the middle" is the best place for it to happen...

:ciao: Happy Thursday! Things are rolling along here. I’ve been busy with the grand baby and my mom and the house, and the plants! Not complaining! I think I’m going to take Dream Queen down on Saturday. She continues to have little spots of budrot here and there - nothing too major - but I’m sure something has to be lurking in those two very tall colas that I cannot get to now that I split the stem… I looked back in my notes and she has been flowering for 9 weeks now. HGCC says 8-10 weeks, AND I have pulled a couple of un-infected nuggets and Holy wow! What a happy high! 🕺 I wish I could do it tomorrow but I’ve got a bunch of family plans, so Saturday it is. I will try to get pics! :peace:

Sounds like a fun time at Chez Boo! When HGCC says 8-10 weeks, do they say that's outside specifically? I usually read outside harvest times listed by month like "late September" or the like.

Of course, if you like the high and the plant is rotting, off with its head!
The HGCC site doesn’t specify whether the 8-10 weeks is indoor or outdoor, but the way she looks, the buzz I got off half assed dried bud, and the “the plant is rotting” …. OFF WITH HER HEAD(S)! :cheesygrinsmiley:

AND I have pulled a couple of un-infected nuggets and Holy wow! What a happy high!
Sounds like Saturday is prime harvesting time!
Happy harvesting, Boo- that one's gonna take a little while..✂️

fun time at Chez Boo
I don’t know why, but “Chez Boo” really makes me laugh. 😂😂

Congrats on the monster harvest, Boo! 💪 That Dream Queen reminds me of your Chocodope a bit. 🤎

Happy Tuesday all! :ciao: How about a little update? I spent a few hours on Friday and 7 hours on Saturday taking down the Dream Queen. I’m glad I decided to do it because there was plenty more budrot that I couldn’t see. I’m guessing with the amount I found this weekend and the amount I’ve been cutting out daily for the past week or so I lost about 2-3 ounces. Oh well! I got the rest!

A cola at a time…
PXL_20220916_234013509.MP.jpg

Washing all the nastiness off the pretty buds.
PXL_20220918_131009217.jpg

The carcass. I was so, so tired by the time I finished. I hung them to dry over night and then dissected the rest of the plant into buds, making sure there was no hidden rot to surprise me. I‘ve got paper bags full of buds in the fridge and will likely transfer them into large jars tomorrow and start the burping process. I’m so glad it’s done and need to make sure I’ve got dinner and lunch pre-made for the next harvest! :cheesygrinsmiley: Up next is Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Not sure if a I’ve shared the genealogy of this one so here goes: Parents are Cookie Monster and Pineapple Trainwreck with grandparents that are OG Kush and GSC on the Cookie Monster side and Pineapple Express and Train wreck on the (obvious) Pineapple Trainwreck side. Humboldt site says 45 days flowering….yoikes. I’m at 70 days flowering and was gonna wait a little while longer.:p Anyway, she’s really gotten fat over the last week or so. Her buds are not as tight and hard as Dream Queens were - which is probably a good thing! Here are some pics.
PXL_20220918_134421152.jpg

She’s got some pretty good sized colas.
PXL_20220918_134520934.jpg

You can see she’s not quite ready yet.
PXL_20220918_134443004.jpg

She has this interesting double bud at the end of one of the colas.
PXL_20220918_134641196.MP.jpg

This is one of two of her main colas. She smells amazing.
PXL_20220920_203420901.jpg

At the end of the day the sun hits her just right and she sparkles like crazy. I wish I could capture what it really looks like - this pic doesn’t do it justice. So far, one of the two seeds I dropped have sprouted and it looks healthier than the first one. Fingers crossed the C4 shows up soon or I’m gonna need to try again! That’s all for today. Thanks for looking!

Well done getting the Dream Queen down before it was all just a bad dream! What you ended up with looks great all clean and green. :thumb:

The Pineapple Upside Down Cake has weeks to go (the 45 days flowering thing is for folks who flip, not those flowering by the sun). Their website says "SEPT. 15 – OCT. 1" for those outside, and I'd put you at the far end of that if not beyond based on drinking.

I hope the weather holds up! :goodluck:

Seriously! Growing plants for 6 months and having it all go to shit at the end is a nightmare!

Duh. I totally missed that sentence on their site. :roorrip: I agree, with your estimate.
I hope the weather holds up! :goodluck:
We’ve been dry with low humidity and temps in the 50s overnight for more than a week with the next 10 days supposed to be more of the same. 🤞

Congrats on harvesting that big, beautiful girl, Boo!
9 or 10 hours well spent...
Hopefully, you'll encounter minimal rot on the PUDC when her time comes...

Beautiful outdoor plants, Boo! :welldone: Congrats on the Dream Queen harvest and nice work minimizing the bud rot loss. Outdoor growing... got to expect some losses due to pests and Mother Nature.

That PUDC is seriously a good looker. :thumb:
