Boo’s Perpetual Grow Journal

Happy Thursday all. I can’t believe it’s been 12 days since I posted here last….:eye-roll: Sorry about that. I’ve been busy working on the house and canning fresh fruits and watching the grand baby and doing stuff for my mom and the time has just flown by. Happy Bastille day!
So, the lovely White Widow came down today. She was showing more signs of mold and it was over a week before she finally dried out so I decided it was time. It won’t be a big yield but, but on the upside I get to drop another seed! Now I need to figure out which one. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Wedding Cake is doing well. I am a little nervous about her getting moldy but honestly, looking back I think the problem with WW occurred a while back when I had guys here working on a gas line in the basement for a couple of days and I closed both tents so they wouldn’t mess with anything. I don’t think WC was in full flower yet but WW definitely was. It was pretty steamy a couple of times when I opened those tents. Oh well. Life lessons.
A friend of mine was asking about autos and why his is so small. I tried to explain that sometimes they are little minis and sometimes they get very large but small doesn’t mean they won’t yield well. This is a pic I sent him of WC today:

She is not quite 17” but she is stacked and so far maintenance free.
Now for the outdoor ladies. We have had a TON of hot weather and rain for the last week. That means that the 3-day wet cycle with feeding hasn’t happened for like, 10 days. I’ll start with the Pineapple Upside Down Cake:

She was born on April 13 which makes her 13 weeks old. I’ve topped her once and I like her structure so I’ve just let her grow, and she’s done pretty well so far. Per usual around here, she looks like she’s beginning to show signs of flower.
Dream Queen was born on 4 May so she is 3 weeks younger and was topped once. She has almost caught up to PUDC in height.

She is a beautiful plant and I have also let her grow freely. Here is the issue she’s having:

Those leaves are on the lower third of the plant. Like I said, I’ve not really had the opportunity to feed either plant for about a week due to the rain. Both are on 5 g/gal MC with Si, SNS 209, and Fulvic acid in each feed. I was able to feed both of them yesterday and I bumped the MC to 5.5g/ gal since I felt like they both look a little pale. Do those leaves look to you guys like a Mag issue or Cal and Mag? Other than those leaves on DQ (and a few bug bites here and there) they are both plugging along. We had a tornado roll thru here in early May with good sized hail, and my roof and gutters (along with my mom‘s roof, gutters and garage door) are being replaced. They start my roof on Tuesday so I need to move these guys out of the way of flying shingles and nails and…etc.
Any thought on DQ’s leaf issues? Thanks so much for looking in and for advice!

Congrats on the harvest of that chonky shorty! Well...shorty by your auto standards, not mine. :cheesygrinsmiley: Sounds like the swampy tent was the cause of the mold. TwelveCoffee just had to trash a flowering plant loaded with mold because his tent has been 85% RH in flower.

The outside duo are gorgeous with a beautiful open structure, though I do wish you had put the screw-eyes into the pallets before you showed me the pics!

I'm thinking Mg on the yellowing but not getting to feed them for a week will do that. 5.0 probably would have been fine but 5.5 will catch you up faster. Maybe rolling it back to 5 for the next watering and finding something to throw over the pots next time the rains roll through to make it possible to feed more consistently would help even things out.

Hi Boo, you grow such beautiful, happy looking plants. Your leaf issue looks like what my Bruce Banner #2 has going on. I think it's a magnesium deficiency. Idk for sure.

I have the screw eyes, it’s just been non stop rain for the last week. They will be installed this weekend! That’s a good idea - going back down to 5 g/gal since I want to leave some room for a bump during flower, and also covering them during the rains. Maybe just a trash bag would work?

Beautiful Wedding Cake, Boo! Lots of weed on that little lady!
Looks like the awesome outside ladies are ok with the rain- I think once their feeding gets back to normal those leaves should green up again, if not, maybe add a little calmag to their feed ...

Congrats on the harvest Boo!

I'd make sure there is plenty of air circulation around that chonky Wedding Cake, just to be on the safe side.

Your outside girls are weathering the storms and will likely be heartier because of it! (As long as they survive the roof replacement. :) )

Your plants look gorgeous, Boo! Congrats on the takedown on the White Widow! I hope she has the effects you're going for despite the early harvest.

Damn, that's a lotta frost...

:ciao: Happy Thursday! Thought I’d drop a little update on the Wedding Cake before I spend the day with my grand daughter. WC is 7 weeks in flower today.

Theres a lot of cloudy trichs there but seems to be a lot of clear too. Her pistils are starting to shrivel onto the buds and there are foxtails all over her. She is still drinking every 3 days so I’m going to wait a little while and see if she slows down. I’m obviously nervous about mold since her buds are so thick and close together.
:nervous-guy:
A few weeks ago I pulled a couple of stems from the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Dream Queen in a half assed effort to make clones. They’ve been in a glass of water in my seedling cabinet under the starter light. I noticed this in the PUDC glass today:

A big long root!
PXL_20220721_130515496.MP.jpg

New, green growth along with sex!

Turns out that both PUDC stems have roots…. Now what? Put them in a solo cup of ProMix and under the tent light? I have clones! :thedoubletake:
