Happy Thursday all. I can’t believe it’s been 12 days since I posted here last…. Sorry about that. I’ve been busy working on the house and canning fresh fruits and watching the grand baby and doing stuff for my mom and the time has just flown by. Happy Bastille day!
So, the lovely White Widow came down today. She was showing more signs of mold and it was over a week before she finally dried out so I decided it was time. It won’t be a big yield but, but on the upside I get to drop another seed! Now I need to figure out which one.
Wedding Cake is doing well. I am a little nervous about her getting moldy but honestly, looking back I think the problem with WW occurred a while back when I had guys here working on a gas line in the basement for a couple of days and I closed both tents so they wouldn’t mess with anything. I don’t think WC was in full flower yet but WW definitely was. It was pretty steamy a couple of times when I opened those tents. Oh well. Life lessons.
A friend of mine was asking about autos and why his is so small. I tried to explain that sometimes they are little minis and sometimes they get very large but small doesn’t mean they won’t yield well. This is a pic I sent him of WC today:
She is not quite 17” but she is stacked and so far maintenance free.
Now for the outdoor ladies. We have had a TON of hot weather and rain for the last week. That means that the 3-day wet cycle with feeding hasn’t happened for like, 10 days. I’ll start with the Pineapple Upside Down Cake:
She was born on April 13 which makes her 13 weeks old. I’ve topped her once and I like her structure so I’ve just let her grow, and she’s done pretty well so far. Per usual around here, she looks like she’s beginning to show signs of flower.
Dream Queen was born on 4 May so she is 3 weeks younger and was topped once. She has almost caught up to PUDC in height.
She is a beautiful plant and I have also let her grow freely. Here is the issue she’s having:
Those leaves are on the lower third of the plant. Like I said, I’ve not really had the opportunity to feed either plant for about a week due to the rain. Both are on 5 g/gal MC with Si, SNS 209, and Fulvic acid in each feed. I was able to feed both of them yesterday and I bumped the MC to 5.5g/ gal since I felt like they both look a little pale. Do those leaves look to you guys like a Mag issue or Cal and Mag? Other than those leaves on DQ (and a few bug bites here and there) they are both plugging along. We had a tornado roll thru here in early May with good sized hail, and my roof and gutters (along with my mom‘s roof, gutters and garage door) are being replaced. They start my roof on Tuesday so I need to move these guys out of the way of flying shingles and nails and…etc.
Any thought on DQ’s leaf issues? Thanks so much for looking in and for advice!
