Boo’s Perpetual Grow Journal

All these years we thought the cabinet had no key...zoomed in to the top left below the shelf.

Yep, that's it. Fits perfectly and still works. Amazing. Maybe I should buy a Lotto ticket! The door doesn't shut easily so I'm going to need to adjust that and seal up some light holes. I guess I'll paint it white inside.

my "dealer" came through with a big score for me.
:yahoo:

Now to start the H2O2 search for bud washing?
hang two blurples in there for seed starting
I can't see needing two blurples in that cool cabinet for starting seeds. And depending on how big you want them to get in there before moving them to the tent, you might be better off with some CFLs with the height restriction in there. Blurples can get pretty intense for young 'uns.

YOIKES!!! Forgot about that! :yahoo: I think I also need to figure out how to get a good pic of the trichromes for help determining chop timing. That little negative magnifier you suggested is not currently available.

Maybe ”blurples” isn’t the right word. I’ve got the two little lights I started out with and have continued to use when starting seedlings. My thought was that I would have two separate levels to do that and also be able to remove the middle level if I decided to use the cabinet to put a bigger plant in. I need to check into CFLs as it has just occurred to me those other lights may be too wide....:eye-roll:

I hope you are well and thanks for stopping by! :thanks:

Not a whole lot going on here tonight so I'm going to post a pic from yesterday. The Cindy's in the tent are chugging along. Tomorrow will be a week since flipping to 10/14 (I think ;)). The taller buds are measuring an inch and a half wide on the top, and they are dense. I'm a little frightened! How will I dry and cure these?!! I've done it before, with the PEs but they were fairly airy and not super big but it worked out and I did get a decent amount of decent smoke. A new adventure in paradise!

I like the slo n dry method myself. You can always break the bud down into smaller sizes but I don't think you have to worry about mold if the conditions for drying are met. If I use the fridge I shoot for humidity levels around 45-50% and temperatures around 40-45 degrees F.

These are the newest additions - Dreamberry auto and Ultra Lemon Haze from @autoseeds. This is my third time germinating seeds and the First time that I had 100% germination. They germinated within 24 hours and went straight into Promix HP where they currently reside. The Dreamberry has some discoloration on her first two leaves, not sure what that is. I really like how the U Lemon Haze's leaves are so flat and open.

I don't have room in a fridge so I dry in a cardboard box (or in the tent for big harvests). The RH in my neighborhood tends to be in the high 50s so I don't usually have to worry about over-drying them, but that varies from place to place. As close to a week hanging and then two weeks of burping in jars or turkey bags and then sealed with Boveda 62s for the cure.

Congrats on the babies! Looks like something is eating the DB to me. At least that's what mine look like outside when they're being noshed on at that age. I spray them with my Dr Bronner's unscented castille soap spray at that age. Too young for neem.

Hey Boo, like Shed, I used to use a loupe to take closeups w my phone (before I got the fancy camera) and sometimes I still do.

they are also perfect for just looking at trichomes without taking a pic. Just looking. I use mins all the time. Just bought a new one actually ;) as I am always misplacing it. Can never have too many!
I got this one.

And on the funky cabinet you’re looking to repurpose, Dutchman built a little box last year and I’ve saved this for when I make mine. You want flat white paint and Dutch painted the interior of his with a mold resistant paint like what’s used for laundries and bathrooms. Seemed a good idea to me :)

My fridge space is also lacking so your suggestions sound like a plan!

These two are actually inside the house at the moment (my actual house vice the Playhouse). They just came out for the pic. The Bruce Banner - which is a few weeks older - also had some splotches on the first leaves. It seems to have outgrown it. I'm sure a good spray won't hurt! :thanks:

they are dense.
How will I dry and cure these?!!
As they dry, even dense buds shrink a bit, which opens up some airflow deeper into the buds.
I just hang mine in a doorless closet, with a little computer fan about 6 feet away, aimed in their general direction- if the hanging buds move from the airflow, the fan is too close...the fan is more for air replacement than it is for drying- it just keeps fresh, dry air moving into the drying space.
The humidity in there averages 45%, and in 5-6 days they're dry enough to go into the jars to start the burping/curing process.
