Bomb Seeds Detonation Time! - 420 Magazine Sponsor Grow & Review - Indoor UDWC LED

Re: Bomb Seeds Detonation Time! - 420 Magazine Sponsor Grow & Review - Indoor UDWC L

It all worked, but I wanted those bad ass white roots you see on YouTube.

Ha. Mine certainly aren't white. They are healthy looking, though.

Day 19 (from rapid rooter)

They are exploding with growth. Some upward & some outward. Ppms are still not dropping. Hmm. pH rises a little but no real swings.

The ravages of the Ca deficiency are more evident on Ice - but only the lowest leaves.

Day 21 - from rapid rooter - Update & Advice needed.

pH - slightly rising daily (~0.2)
ppm - very slightly rising (3 - 4 ppm daily) - pH down is raising it?????
Running 1/2 nutes with full cal-mag dose added 4 days ago

Both plants

Ice Bomb

Here is my question: What do you think? Is this still the residual damage from the lack of cal-mag or it this telling me it still needs more?

Re: Bomb Seeds Detonation Time! - 420 Magazine Sponsor Grow & Review - Indoor UDWC L

Hello. Been subbed and stalking ..lol. interested in bomb seeds. Anyways, when i jad this "cal" issue and added cal mag tjat also didnt help me much. After futther research ( checking ppm and ph run off and compare with ph and ppm watered)... i noticed my only issue plants had high ppm "out" low ph. Furtger research indicated i was giving more nuteients then needed. The plant leached excess nutrients (leached excess nutrients are more acidic). I watered at 180ppm from r.o. water with extras being calmag.... off they went back to growth land.

Just a thought if you have ppm and ph meters available. I find that your run off tells a huge story to get dialed in!! Gives u more tools anyways!! Good luck!!!

I have a ph meter and a TDS meter and I love using both I don't use my TDS that much but I do use it esp during flush or any problems

What’s your res temp looking like? New growth looks good to me.

Yes, the new growth is strong & healthy. Res temp is 69 - 71. When it gets near 72 I knock it down with a water bottle - one late in the day usually. Air temp is 70s. Humidity 60 - 70%

Could be the old marks, as the leaves grow the old scars grow too and it can seem kind of alarming some of the "damage" you might stumble across lol

I'd say if your ph n ppm are good now it's just a mark from earlier :3

I am monitoring it daily with meters. Since I am hydro, it is essential to know where you are. So far the Berry Bom is in the lead. The Ice took the biggest hit from the cal-mag problem.

Great. That's what I wanted to hear. They are due for full nutes starting Friday.

Day 25 (from rapid rooter insertion)

I am getting frustrated here. After my cal-mag issue, it looked like I was getting into a groove.

Friday — res & nute change. Normal dose of cal-mag.
Saturday — growth spurt. All is well pH 6.1 ppm 1244 @ 7 EC 1.77
Saturday night - a big swing up in pH to 7.8 with falling ppm 1191 EC 1.7. So they are eating but the pH spiked. Res is falling very slowly. I knocked the pH down to 6.0 & went to bed.
Sunday - move evidence of cal-mag problem on Ice. Is it the same or just the continuing problem? Added ½ dose of cal-mag (making it a heavy dose as per bottle directions). This also raised the ppm to 1315 EC 1.86.

The Berry Bomb is chugging along doing well with only minor evidence of a problem. The Ice Bomb has been hit hard. The new growth looks fine but the plant is much smaller than the Berry. I trimmed the worst of the rust damage off of the bottom leaves so it is looking a bit forlorn.

On the plus side, I did finally dig into my ABS stock to solve the ugly dripping humidifier vacuum cleaner hose. I have no idea why I had so many 1 ½ ABS 45s hanging around. Some long ago plumbing job. I augmented these with a few more fittings & now I have a semi-permanent ducting system for Shennie's leftover humidifier. It works surprisingly well although it needs monitoring because of the wonky controls. It cools & humidifies. Note my use of the 45s on the moisture trap. I didn't need to glue it so I can dismantle it in minutes.

Next Up:

I will have to build my scrog screen this week & think seriously about topping or fimming.
What height does everyone use for their scrog screen above the pot? 10 inches?

Top after the 4th node?

Seems like the SCRoG trellis height depends on when you add the screen. If you start off with a screen and allow the plant to grow into it 8 to 10 inches would work just fine. The first time I did it I added it too late. There was no way I could get the screen that low.

I was told that once the plant is topped the growth of the taproot stops (in length)So if you had issues with roots you might want to wait a while before topping. Seems like your roots are doing really well...

Re: Bomb Seeds Detonation Time! - 420 Magazine Sponsor Grow & Review - Indoor UDWC L

I like topping at 4, just to have a bit more room to work lol

8 to 10 inches is good for a scrog

Try cutting your nutes in half, I bet it would save you some trouble. Should be closer to 4 to 500 ppm right now imo

Re: Bomb Seeds Detonation Time! - 420 Magazine Sponsor Grow & Review - Indoor UDWC L

I topped the fourth node so after the 3rd...off both mine, took a day for recovery and boooooom they are bushing nicely.

All of the nodes are still squished together so topping may need to wait just a bit.

Makes sense. The plants are only around 5" so I have this week to build it. The roots are fine but I agree, I'll wait until the end of the week to top.

Since the plants initially liked the full nutes, I am hesitant. That said, I need stability, so I compromised & dropped them 20%+ through dilution. EC 1.1 ppm 803. And I will let them destress before I break out the scissors.

They look healthy and happy to me.

Yeah, the tops & the roots. Those first few leaves though . . . damage is on me & my idiocy.

Thanks all. Please keep helping me. :Namaste:

Berry and ice bomb, nice! I have these 2 strains. I'm going to follow along so I can get an idea of what to expect. Happy Growing!

Re: Bomb Seeds Detonation Time! - 420 Magazine Sponsor Grow & Review - Indoor UDWC L

Ok. I have a technical question that has absolutely nothing to do with DWC... that I know of. Y'all seem pretty bright so here I go.

I have a plant that sprouted the first leaves, then then one set of leaves with multifingers, then nothing. When i say nothing I mean theres not even a little microscopic leaf waiting to grow. The crotch at the top of the plant is completely without features. Anyone seen this? I was told to top it, but there's really not a lot to top. The roots are going off, but there doesnt seem to a future in this plant. Sorry for highjacking the thread...
