Bluter's Happy Home For Hilarious Hempsters

I ph my MC in coco, it works so I just go with it.

there's a lot of jesus walking on water associated with mc ... don't drink all the kool-aid .. :cheesygrinsmiley:

It works so I can’t knock it, I usually add some more calmag in flower but that’s it.

i don't even add the cal-mag. might try some BE this go. it's just mc minus n. i been hot in flower and this may pull it back a bit. hard to say. you drop so little MC for headroom and add so little BE that it may really be no difference.

And then some. It sure does like to wreck my pH in RDWC though. No idea why really, but damn if it don't. No roots in water yet, but it's drifted up a good bit this week.

There has to be something trivial and/or stupid I'm missing with it, but I'll give it one last ride and fight the pH for veg at least.

Now for my dutch buckets, I think I'm going to swap over to coco from perlite after this run finishes up in a few weeks. It's been alright, but I'm pretty sure most are aware that I'm not a fan of washing 14 gallons (~54 liters) worth every run.

Is it really MC - N? What else is it missing? Honestly, if that was the only diff, I'd be quite tempted to drop MC a gram or two, and make up the diff with BE in flower.

I have a feeling there's more to it than that though. :(

i really think that's about it. and that's exactly what i'm contemplating.

i get mid - late flower issues with mc. usually flips between not enough/too hot with no happy middle ground. pretty much wind up hot.

i figure the n is getting in the way, and i could maybe run a bit cooler with the BE overall.

It seems to help me at mid bloom.

right where i hit the wall. i run hard in flower though. i could probably use co2. that's getting a bit extreme for me though.

the darkness needed during dark time. he said total darkness was important then said the full moon was not too bright.

Well, if you look at multi-part mixes, that’s exactly what they do in flower: back off the N a tick.

GH trio goes from equal parts of micro/gro/bloom in veg, doubles those parts on flip week and next, then backs off gro and raises bloom so you’re 2/1/3 parts of m/g/b entering mid flower.

Most others do the same.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a 1-part base with an additional flower part to work it out.

TPS has a one-part formula, but I haven’t tried it. Would run me about $104(US) per run in the bigger rdwc. Not terrible, but not $20 of MC either.

I am going to try the TPS multi-part series ($94/grow) in my bigger rdwc shortly, which is about what my GH mix runs me.

When I do the next dutch run, I may roll with tap and MC and nothing else just to see what happens. Or I may stick to the RO since the water is pretty chewy. Then again, maybe I’ll do a half n half.

well,, one important thing,, it does seem that several of us are having similar issues. including the best of the best of growers on here

the too much n seems popular,,

there is progress ..

couple small issues. i marked them with the :420: stickers.

coulda transplanted deeper. was having a rough time when feeding so put them in taller than i should have. it shouldn't affect anything long term. yeah i know, lazy ..

the cbdream and couple others consumed some leaf setting new roots. if they'd been closer to the res i wouldn't have had anything show at all probably.

showing as a cal mag and general nute deficiency

i was tracking a bit behind on ramping the feed schedule as well. getting ahead of it. next feed i'm sitting right between normal and extended veg at 4.25g/gal. haven't been running hot enough for tipping yet. the tops and everything new coming in looks good too.

the power plant and gorilla glue are fairing the best.

hmm. .. changing pics became a pain

the 420 sticker marks the gorilla glue. she has a little tipping going on lower down since transplant. rest of the leaf looks like it might have given some up in the trans plant as well. again not so worried, but will keep a look out.

final gorilla glue being shy in the back.

i have to top and start training next feed or so. not certain what i'm doing with these. was wondering if uncle ben's technique or a variant would be hempy friendly. just to change it up. and cause i kept breaking stuff quadding :cheesygrinsmiley:

if anyone has a ubt linky on the site here give me shout. gonna have to look it up. i think @Mr. Krip has one in his last journal. maybe i can tease it out.

hope everyone observed the 11th hour today. lest we forget.

I've spoken about it for years and probably have it in my first journal but Sister @Amy Gardner did a recent write-up here:

Hubba Hubba! Bubba Hash & The Bright Lights Of Redemption: Amy’s Indoor v2.0 With 420

Thanks for the shout out MrKrip! I had intended to make a thread with that and add some pics (some of yours and some of mine :cheesygrinsmiley:). I should get to that sometime soon. Seems there is still interest and need.

Hi bluter! :ciao:
Here’s a follow up post. The one Krip linked is where I posted the original Uncle Ben’s text and this one here is my followup to that, with pics ;)

@arteekay had some pretty impressive grows - topping as early as the 2nd node - even with autos - getting 4-5 oz dry from small plants. It's too bad he's not active anymore - his journals were incredibly detailed and they had some impressive grows.

And @Emilya has some pretty cool training going on in her current journal - basically training the plant so that the tip follows the rim of the pot in a circle, all the nodes then grow up to the light.

i've let them grow in a few nodes. i'm gonna have to cut them back to train. i'm probably goin higher than the second node. will have to see.

not settled on where i'm going yet. i'm pressed for time. i'm at least topping and tying a few branches down. this grow might just have to be sloppy.

hi guys ... here's your morning hempys just after an AM feed ..

gonna have to drop the floor this wk if i don't elect to top. will probably leave it where it is and top. decision time on training.

everyone is looking good, other than some battering the lowers took early on. all the new stuff is going busters. sitting about a 1/4 gram or so under extended veg strength on the mc.

might have seen a tinge of cal mag ask - usually indicates a tiny bump in MC, but this is the first feed at this strength, so will hold steady and monitor. still on nothing but the MC / RO for a couple three grows or so.

edit: should add for anyone watching - i left an extra day between the last feed.

you can feed hempy on a schedule. X amount of feed to X amount of water fed to every plant every other day, according to plant growth stage.. it's great for beginners that way. :)

i left the extra day as i could tell by lifting the buckets they had plenty left in the res by weight. being as they were recently transplanted, i wanted them to dry out more. this encourages feeder roots to branch out in search of nutrition / water, the same as they would in soil, and promotes a healthier / stronger plant.

weed likes dry feet.

also with the increase in size, i switched the little 2-speed 6 inch fan from gentle breeze to give 'er. :cheesygrinsmiley:
