i think i got near a yrs worth of cbd left. i gave a bunch away. when i switched to hempy i didn't have much and overdid it for a couple three grows.

To be fair my cupboards are starting to look the same as I end up buying more than I need everytime I go shopping.
it's just off my flower room. i run the veg space where i live.
it's across town which makes for a hilarious drive once in a while when i have to move the plants in my jetta.
edit : i was making that trip for a few years before legal too
Reminds me of some video I seen a while back where some guy had his truck packed with clones and plants driving down the freeway at a time when it was illegal hoping he never got pulled, surprised he never got pulled as he never made any real effort to cover the plants or the window's.

just pulled the trigger on a bunch more @Weed Seeds Express genetics. got probably a year and a half worth of grows waiting. a few are going in to the future vault. 2 fem packs and an auto fem. stay tuned ...
having a look at the girls tonight. we're close to ceiling on both MC and BE. might be pulling the MC back a touch. we've pulled the calmag back modestly. i'm running hot but balanced.
i wanna see if can cool it down a touch. am gonna check where i'm at for ec on the next feed. the plants seem to be feeding a full stage ahead of where i want.

all my cbd plants shame the thc plants for production. doesn't matter if they lean sativa or indica. they just produce stupid big.
did my taxes. cdn gov't is just gonna cover my seed expense. wonder when i can add that to my future deductions ?
it's still a win. that's why i did both on the same day lol ..

I made your VG infusion over the weekend and was surprised at how thin the end product turned out. I guess I was expecting it to be at least as thick as the input VG. Same nice color as in your pics, though.
Is it normal that it thins out as part of the heating process? I covered the jar pretty well with tin foil when it was in the IP for both cycles, so I don't think it got watered down from the steam, but who knows.
Maybe the heat destroys some of the viscosity of the VG? Or maybe it was operator error.

mine is usually a touch thicker than the original vg as it will carry a minute amount of the plant material. even more so with a second pass. sounds like something was wrong.

had a second look at your post ...
if you are using canning jars then don't use tin foil. put the tops on, seal them, then back them off 1/4 turn. also make sure the water you add to the instant pot only touches the bottom of the rack.
also you can adjust the recipe, but if you keep to the proportions, if not the exact measurements, it will work great for beginners. i also recommend a double cook with the appropriate cool down period.

Ok, thanks. I was planning on using the canning jars next run to see if it made a difference. Sounds like operator error.
I scaled it way down for this run but used a higher percentage of bud. I used 1 gram per tablespoon which I think is about double your concentration, but I can't see how that would have made that much of a difference.
But, glad to know my original expectation for the thickness of the liquid was on point.
Great tutorial, btw. I ran it like you suggested, two heating cycles with a full day cool off between runs.

the jars are actually a bit better. it's a bit cleaner.
i'm just stupid old school and like the metal bowls lol.
there's a myth about the added surface area in contact with the oil or vg making a difference when using a bowl. not just with the instant pot method.
i don't think there is anything to that, but you could try it if unsatisfied.
i mostly use a metal bowl that pretty much seals against the side of the instant pot with the foil on. i always infuse 750ml of whatever i am doing, oil or vg. if making a cooking butter i will scale the amount back, but run the same proportions.
the proportions in my original vg infusion post are about tops for what you can get. whether oil or vg. more bud past that point doesn't net you a stronger product. maybe even weaker.
we gotta get you figured out to work good though. it's should be more or less easy.
i'm concerned that it is thinner. vg also has a tiny bit of alcohol. it should boil off in the process a bit as well. it's part of the reason trichomes migrate to the liquid so well in the instant pot. another is heat under pressure.
it can only get thinner if there's too much liquid introduced, either in the system or the bud. it is possible the bud was too wet. otherwise it boiled in some how.
The buds could have been less dry than optimum. I water cured them for about a week and then dried them to just above 50% humidity as measured by a humidity meter inside a closed mason jar. I didn't bake it or put it in rice to dry it further than that.
But that's potentially the issue. Or the other could be that my foil cover wasn't as tight as I thought and with all the steam in the pot some got up and under the cover.
The canning jar lid loosely fitted likely solves that issue by allowing the mixture to burp if necessary, while keeping the moisture out.
I'll give it another go after next harvest.

Just popped three Blackjack Beans from @Weed Seeds Express !!!
Usually soak seeds in a one percent Humic Acid solution for 24 hours.
After about 16 hours two of them had tails while soaking in the HA solution.
Probably not that uncommon to get tails while soaking, but never happened to me before.

Love the tomato cage grow/garden. Had about fifteen of the nice colored cages that I gave away to some youth garden.
Really wishing that I kept a few now. Maybe I can steal some back?

the hempys continue to stretch and build
we bumped the feed up a bit. i've only got about a 1/2 gram left for head room on both the MC and BE. they continue to pull a bit from the lowers, and we are watching to see if it heads higher. i cleared some of the spent leaves out of the bottom.
one or two might be pulling from a bit higher. hoping to hold where we are at, but can lean in to the nutes just a little more if i have to. it's easy to go from slightly hungry to overfed and crispy at this point.
one of the outer branches got damaged and needed some support. i hope there is enough left to get through the rest of flower.
the buds are getting some dark in them. we might get some purples or something.
a few trichs are starting to show up too. even on the smaller ones.
everyone is mostly a pistil factory though at the moment. with the continued stretch they may need to get tied to the cages soon.
for now they're ok on their own. as they fill we'll give them some help.

so far i find their seeds crack with little trouble. they all get a harder to germinate as they get older though.
i just re-invested. i could actually get some a bit cheaper but have liked their stuff so far and wanted to stay with one of the sponsors.
that wouldn't be a great example for the youth lol
They're really starting to stack bluter, looking good!
Remember, once you back off the MC, you're losing the N. That might make the yellowing worse!
