Here are the Med Grow limits:

Maximum number of plants

Indoor Production Only
325 (1) If the production area is entirely indoors, the maximum number of cannabis plants that may be under production at a production site by virtue of a registration is determined by the formula
[(A × 365) ÷ (B × 3C)] × 1.2
where
A is the daily quantity of dried cannabis, expressed in grams, indicated in the medical document that forms the basis for the registration;
B is 30 g, being the expected yield of dried cannabis per plant; and
C is a constant equal to 1, representing the growth cycle of a cannabis plant from seeding to harvesting

Outdoor production only
(2) If the production area is entirely outdoors, the maximum number of cannabis plants that may be under production at a production site by virtue of a registration is determined by the formula
[(A × 365) ÷ (B × C)] × 1.3
where
A is the daily quantity of dried cannabis, expressed in grams, indicated in the medical document that forms the basis for the registration;
B is 250 g, being the expected yield of dried cannabis per plant; and
C is a constant equal to 1, representing the growth cycle of a cannabis plant from seeding to harvesting.

Indoor and outdoor production
(3) If the production area is partly indoors and partly outdoors, the maximum number of cannabis plants that may be under production at a production site by virtue of a registration is determined
(a) for the indoor production period, by the formula
[(A × 182.5) ÷ (B × 2C)] × 1.2
where
A is the daily quantity of dried cannabis, expressed in grams, indicated in the medical document that forms the basis for the registration,
B is 30 g, being the expected yield of dried cannabis per plant, and
C is a constant equal to 1, representing the growth cycle of a cannabis plant from seeding to harvesting;
and
(b) for the outdoor production period, by the formula
[(A × 182.5) ÷ (B × C)] × 1.3
where
A is the daily quantity of dried cannabis, expressed in grams, indicated in the medical document that forms the basis for the registration,
B is 250 g, being the expected yield of dried cannabis per plant, and
C is a constant equal to 1, representing the growth cycle of a cannabis plant from seeding to harvesting.

Rounding
(4) If the maximum number of cannabis plants determined under this section is not a whole number, it is to be rounded to the next highest whole number.

Prohibition — production of plants

326 (1) An individual who is authorized to produce cannabis plants under this Division must not cultivate, propagate or harvest them
(a) indoors and outdoors at the same time; or
(b) outdoors if the production site is adjacent to a school, public playground, daycare facility or other public place frequented mainly by individuals under 18 years of age

Hey Old Salt,
Do you have a link for this?

Thanks. :peace:
There's no link. Request a copy by e-mail from: cannabis@canada.ca. I received a copy within minutes. Here's my email:
Subject: Request: Regulations to support coming into force of the Cannabis Act

Body:
Please send me a copy of the Regulations to support coming into force of the Cannabis Act in advance of publication in the Canada Gazette.

Thanks in advance…

Old Salt

It's a lllllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggg document. The part Ian quoted starts on page 184 para 325 (1).

The indoor formula seems to be about the same... My wife and I have 6g between us, that allows 30 plants. Under the new regs, it's 29.2, rounded up to 30...

Hi All,

I looked at the numbers too and they are effectively the same. Their calculations for outdoor plants (yielding 250g/plant) is beyond my gardening skills. I get about a third of that. I concede that I'm growing in planters and pots, not in the ground. But yes, it looks fair.

Peace. :peace:

I find 30g to be hit and miss so far. I have a nice flowering area, about 8' x 3' with 2 400w lights. My problem is my veg area is just 2.5' x 2.5' and has an outdoor led light like you might mount over a doorway. I can't really get them very big before I flower them :( I did get 45g off a plant but generally avg about 30g. I'm working with the wife to find another space for veg, and purchase another 400w light but in an apartment, it's hard to find more room. We're in a 2 bedroom apt, so the spare room is my grow room / workshop. Both rooms, and the bathroom are on the same electrical circuit, and each room has an air conditioner, plus the 2 400w lights etc, so adding another light is not an option in that room. In fact, I have to turn off one of the air con units just to be able to vacuum. I want to keep using perpetual harvest, so far I have managed to keep myself medicated :) So, once I get a better veg area, I expect my yield to increase.

Why not divide your flowering area in half. Shift your lighting schedule so that only two lights are on at a time. For example:
7:30 AM to 7:30 PM flower 1 on
7:30 PM to 7:30 AM flower 2 on
15:00PM to 7:00 AM veg on

Isnt 30g per indoor plant low? Shhhhhhh dont tell them.

I should delete your post. Now they know . . . :ganjamon:

But as of today, I can keep a kilo on hand - for emergencies. I got my ACMPR cert today for 3 grams. :cheer:

I like your thinking, but I would have a hard time making the flowering areas light-proof. As it is, only the small veg area is light-proof so it doesn't leak light while the rest of the room is dark. I suppose I could build walls, even if just the white/black plastic sheeting (that I'm using now) but enclosing two flowering area introduces the need for individual cooling as well... just seems like a lot of trouble.

What I may end up doing is making the flower area smaller, move the veg area to another room, along with one of the 400w lights. This would put the light on a different circuit, and let me have more room for my workshop in the flowering room :)

That’s a SweetSue sized emergency

Delete that sucker haha

Man oh man I’m struggling to get even 15 grams per plant oh ya that average is wayyyyy too high.

Hi All,

Is the "legalization" of cannabis on October 17, 2018, a tribute to Gord Downie? It is the first anniversary of his passing. :rip:

The 17th will be a Wednesday, not a Monday like you would think. Hmmm...

Peace. :peace:

It really doesn't matter what the intent was, lets get everyone to spark one up in Honour of a beloved Canadian Icon!

We miss you Gord!

It's official . . . in Ontario . . .

  • Stand alone LCBO-style stores - up to 80 stores by end of 1st year (150 by 2020)
  • LCBO will run an online store that will open when Federal legalization occurs
  • Licensed producers will be the only source
  • Minimum age 19 years of age
  • Existing illegal dispensaries will be shut
it"s unfortunate that that in both Ontario and Quebec it will be the LCBO and SAQ only that will control the retail market..

There's more provinces in the same state. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, and NWT all seem to have the same provincial, or territorial lock on sales.

The RCMP in Nova Scotia are getting in some practice for next year.

I had five plants stolen from my back porch last night. They were all high CBD/ low THC strains, Nightingale and V.C.D.C., growing in coco coir. I really hope the thieves can, and do grow them out. I'd love to see their faces when they first smoke it. :D:laugh::rofl:

I predict a lot of this next fall. I wonder if insurance companies will pay for these types of theft. I wonder if they've even considered it.
