BigBearNTX Perpetual Auto Grow

Lots going on in the Bears neck of the woods...... :thumb:

I would have done more, but that bit of cob yesterday knocked me out. (I would say “knocked me the fuck out” but momma raised me not to swear.) I’m going to let it go for another couple of months and then grind and extract the goodness from it.

Nothing wasted from yesterday’s harvest.

I dried my buds for about ten hours yesterday in the dehydrator - my theory being the less water in the bud, the less water soluble material gets extracted by the alcohol.

Decarbed at 240F (115c) for 50 minutes. Maybe an hour since I left it in the oven for a bit after I turned it off. Ground and into the freezer.

Three washes with the ethanol, and I have about 500 ml of extract. Got it in a hot bath on a hot plate to condense down to about 100ml.

All my trim, plus stems went for oil. Plus some trim I had in the freezer from my last harvest. Leaves and small buds had been dehydrated before storing in the freezer. Decarbed this morning, broke it up with my fingers, and into the pot.

Stems were dried for 24 hours and then cut up and put in the coffee grinder. Except for two large stem pieces that were too moist to grind.

The left over bud from the QWET also went into the oil pot, as did the coffee filters I used for straining the alcohol.

I’m hoping for two 50 ml bottles of tincture and about 2 cups of coconut oil.

Part of the tincture will be used for gummy bears, since I’ve had a request. The oil will be used for regular edibles - cookies and brownies. I may use some oil for a batch of chocolate truffles.

Waste not, want not!

**i would have saved and processed the roots as well, but it seemed like too much work getting them clean. I may still, don’t know.

Like it... I didn't get around to brewing up anything yet. Maybe tomorrow. How much leaf did you use for your 2 cups of Coconut Oil. I have about a pound or more of trim in my freezer and would like to process it all down. I was think of using a large Crock Pot. Opinion?

I can’t really tell you a wet weigh since I dehydrate my leaf before freezing. It was a mason jar full of dried leaf though. Plus the scraps.

It works. I got pretty buzzed from licking up the drips of oil. o_O

Hope you are surviving the harvest.. ;)

Type and strength of ferts used? I have some Osmo+ pellets mixed in but supplementing with Tappin Roots Essential Grow and Tappin Roots Solid Bloom 10ml/5ml per gallon.

I started growing in August and had a fairly rough start. I had attempted to start one plant every month so I could have a continuous harvest. Unfortunately my soil had fungus gnats. I spent three months fighting gnats and it severely stunted and effected my first grows.

For this grow I’ve decided to do hempy buckets and so far so good. The gnats vanished immediately once I got rid of the soil. I tried to do Osmocote+ only, but it wasn’t enough and so I’m supplementing. I’m using Tappin’ Roots brand nutrients because I found them on clearance at Home Depot in Denver and I’m a sucker for a deal. Lol

This is my Pineapple Express auto at two weeks, in her starter hempy homestead, a repurposed sharps container:

A picture of her root development at 3 weeks when I transplanted her into her 3 gallon bucket:

Here she is at 4 weeks as I’m starting her LST:

Here she is tonight at six and a half weeks and about two weeks into bloom:

It’s been a very interesting journey so far. This grow is looking like it may be a success. I’m very hopeful!
Looks good. Sativa dominant it appears

Hi. Late to the party. I had fungus gnats in my last grow. Aside from all the stuff you were recommended I would add Nemasys Sciarid fly killer which I got on amazon (live in the UK). They are a form of nematodes. It works in combo. You need to kill the larva as well as the flies themselves to break the cycle.

If I grow in soil indoors again, I’ll definitely get some!

Just a quick shot of the tent in anticipation of the Saturday update.

The plants in the black pots have been topped this week, that’s the three Ducks and a CBD Crack. The CBD Crack still in its nursery pot is ready to transplant tomorrow. The ruderalis and WW are still struggling.

And just to show that what I’ve learned from growing cannabis works for my veggies as well, shots of my eggplants and tomatoes. They look pretty robust, which means that my homemade veg box will work for a mother just fine.

She gave me an ounce and a half. I had severe cal-mag deficiency at about 8 weeks; my fault, not the genetics. I treated with Epsom salt and home made calcium supplement, but it wasn’t enough, I should have purchased commercial cal-mag at the time.

I harvested right at 100 days or so, but then I like amber in my trichomes. Probably could have taken her down a week earlier if I wanted more buzz.

The smell is straight up citrus and pine. Very nice.

Customer Review: “Weed is good. Seems like maybe even a little stronger than what we usually have“

My nutrient lines calmag is basically a micro additive aswell and is recommended to be used every feeding so hopefully wont run into those problems. Im gonna be using the deepest 5-7gal pots I can find. Or a close alternative like some builders buckets or something.

Whew.....right in time.....thought I was gonna have to ask for pictures.......... saved my virtual life. :p

Everything looks good, even those small mutated plants......hope they bud well. ;)

Hope you are well, and today is a smooth sail. :thumb:
