Big Buddha Cheese: Part Deux

I believe my Canna nutes are inorganic.
Nitrate is the N source.

I do like growing in coco, don't have any plans to switch.

Looking at the plants this morning, day 10, I saw pistol activity on all. I guess I must be remembering my past grows where the activity seemed more pronounced, but then I looked at the pics from last grow, the parents of this grow. It was the same point that I began seeing pistol activity and not until around day 17 or so that you could see definitely see the "Pom Pom" effect of the plants.
Just getting antsy I guess, have been growing for straight since spring of 17', six grows and need a break. I say that and I know when this run is finished I will be ready to plant some more seeds, but alas, I am going to take a break.

Need to edit last post,

Going back to older pics and journals I have been growing almost continuously since the spring of 15'. Wow, did not realize this. Only had a three week break when I had nothing growing.
In order:
Summer/Fall 15 White Rhino and Exodus Cheese,
Fall/Spring 15/16, 16 Clones of WR and EC
Summer/Fall 16, Critical Kush and Cheese, had major irrigation issues with this grow.
Fall/Winter 16/17, Super Citrus Haze and WW
Spring/Summer 17, G13 Haze
Early Fall/Early Winter 17/18, Barneys Farm LSD
Winter/Spring 18, Clones of BF LSD
Winter/Spring/Summer 18, Monster Crop of BF LSD
Fall/Winter 18, Big Buddha Cheese
Winter/Spring 18/19 SOG, clones of BB Cheese.

Did not realize how tired I am, :)

Man you've been growing as long as I have. I have been telling myself "Someday I'll get as big as yields as he does what I have the same amount of experience". LMAO

I know what you mean though man. This last clean up session, emptying pots I kept thinking, "I can't keep doing it this way," but was really just trying to keep myself from saying I can't keep doing it in general. I have too many health problems, it's just getting harder and harder on those. That's not even mentioning the tedium... I hate how much of a paradox a good yield is when you're excited about more but then immediately realize how much it's gonna suck to trim it all.

Really like the looks of this for day 12, shaping up quite nicely!

Group shot, I think they need a slight trim, but gonna wait! Love the color of the plant!

What I think will happen if I wait, the lower buds will let me know which ones to remove, that have no chance of making it to the top of the canopy and will end up producing thin popcorn buds. I have been removing some fans, very few actually. Just some blocking major light.

Got roots.
Made up an 18 gallon rez mix 2/9 and yesterday had about two plus gallons left in the rez so I added Great White and Subculture II to the rez and dumped it all in the last cycle of the day @ 7:45 AM. Then cleaned the rez and added a fresh 18 gallons, the nutes and the supplements. Let that sit for 12 hrs to stabilize, pH'ed it at 4 PM and let that rest and stabilize till the first cycle of the night @ 9:15 PM.
This pic was taken this morning, all of the pots are looking like these two. This pic was taken prior to the last cycle of 1.45 minutes. You can see the salt build up on the top of the pots, that does not get totally soaked with each cycle and the fan is blowing on it 24/7. I plan on a mild nute flush at the end of this rez on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Have been running 3 cycles during lights on, 1st - 9:15 PM, 1:15 minutes, 2nd - 2 AM, 1 minute, 3rd - 7:45 AM, 1:30 minutes. Getting at least 30% runoff over all three cycles, last cycle is the largest amount of runoff to flush as much unused salts from the root system.
Going to add a cycle to the mix, 9:15 PM, 12:45 AM, 4:15 AM and 8 AM. This will increase the time 45 seconds to the total cycles. Main thing I want to be sure to get is the runoff needed to prevent salts buildup in the root zone.

Drinking about 18 gallons in 5 days with at least 30% runoff.
EC 1.1 and pH drifts from 5.8 to 5.9 daily.
Have not removed much foliage, only a couple of massive fans blocking other plants.
Root system is doing fantastic, just love me some Great White and Subculture II.
Happy, we are at this point getting pom pom's sooner than their parents did, started at day 11 compared to day 17 with their parents.

Very sad today!
The lady that I made FECO for a couple of weeks ago, she was still getting up to speed on it, 0.5 grams a day, and after months of trying to get into MD Anderson's program, passed away!
Waited too long to start the FECO program and took too long to get into the MD A's program.
Makes me angry and sad that she was not able to get access to FECO legally and sooner.
Be at peace Ms. Henry, your pain is over.

Same pot 4 days after a weekly addition of Great White and Subculture II.

Gotta love Great White and SC II.
Tomorrow morning, prior to final cycle, I should have around two to three gallons left in the rez. Will be adding Great White, Subculture II and a little Mammoth to the rez and run a little mini flush. For the first time in awhile I checked the runoff, about what I expected, my EC is stable at 1.2 and the pH is within limits at 6.15. pH of the solution going into the pots fluctuates, at the start of the days cycles is 5.8 and by the last cycle it is 5.9+/-. I rarely check runoff.
Then on Friday morning early, begin pulling each plant from the tent and doing a 21 day pruning/defo. Not sure how much I will remove but I know I really need to go fairly heavy as they have run out of grow room. It is dark under the canopy. When I put them back in the tent I plan on rotating the plants from the back to the front. Have basically 5 rows of plants so the front plant will go to the middle, middle to the back and back to the front. May even flip side to side also.
Here are a few pics showing how thick they are.
Right, center and left sides of the tent.

The whole mess!
1728556

They are doing well, just too much mass. I have never run this type of grow before so I am unsure of how to prune. I know how to do a vertical grow but this is new to me. Will probably remove everything but the mains and maybe three to four upper side branches. Take fans from branches that have already produced enough leaf to supply the bud sites with the energy they need.
Have been searching YouTube for ideas on how to prune a SOG or semi SOG. Hopefully I won't fuck them up too bad.

Tomorrow is day 21 and pruning day. Not sure how much to take off so this morning I pruned a plant and would like some thoughts.
I pruned this plant like I do my vertical grows.

Too Much, Not Enough or Just Right?

What the lamps see, did I leave enough leaf surface?

This mess is definitely ready for a trim!

Update: Day 21 12/12

Trimming day, started at 5 AM, finished at 9:10 AM. Was really not sure how much to take off,
@ Sedan, thanks Bud, your thoughts help me a lot. So good or bad the deed is done, took about as much as I normally take on my vertical grows.
Just a few before and after shots. Same plant in all 6 pics.

Thinking this would be called lolly popping?
1730183

I also rearranged the plants, moved the taller ones up front and to the perimeter, put the shorter one to the back and center. Thinking I get better light at the back and center compared to up front with no reflective material close to the plants.

Well we shall see how it goes.

Don't think I over did it. I know when I trimmed this heavy in my vertical grows they did well. 1 plus G/W, so we shall see.

Made a new rez mix today, added P/K 13/14 at 2.4 ml/gal, compared to the 6 ml they recommend in the Canna Grow Guide. They only recommend it for 1 week at week 4 of 12/12. I will be adding it to this rez and the next (which should last 4 days each)/ That will cover the week but then to the third rez refill @ 1.0 ml/gal, to give me the total 6 ml they recommend.
This is my first time to use P/K 13/14, have been using Liquid KoolBloom and have been getting burn, my bad I believe because I was using 3/4 rate for the last 4 to 5 weeks.
I was at 1.25 to 1.35 in my prior rez fills but now it's 1.5 EC, don't expect any burn. I am getting more runoff now, which is good, at least 30% over the lights on cycle.
Today's pic's,
