Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

Just got caught up bid......nice...+reps!
cool glad your here up to speed, may have some interesting changes soon,

I have run into this issue and not got the job because I know to much...lol
shes so damn likeable she always gets the job,she knows not to show more brains than they need to see,but her degrees might screw it up but not likely they need the position filled ASAP

Good weed guys.
ty and a top shelf to you to my friend!

so, im worried temps have been hitting high 80s in the flower room, the older gdp has developed some pale crispy leaves,i trim them off and examine her,she looks very healthy otherwise and is still packing on weight,my guess it its heat, gdp is proving to be a touchy and picky for me,so far i have been growing gdp for 6 months and am yet to taste this ledgendary strain, frustrating! the younger one gdp2 looks fantastic so far and may surpass its slightly older sister, last night i opened the tent to be greeted by a limp og kush, i can no longer skip a day of watering, and i think i need to transplant her to a larger pot or set her smart pot in a bigger pot and fill it with medium she perked up fast after a drink but i feat one more of those wilts will hurt her to a bad result, she looked good after30 min but something must be done to combat heat,i think my co2 generator needs another 5lbs of sugar ,but im broke, i wonder if some old honey would work if i turned it back ito a liquid lol
mead anyone? lol the test of the plants looked stellar cheese stretched nicly and will even out the canopy, im all out of bpn organic nutes,as well as vita blue, seaweed, all the sns stuff is gone except the pm/fungicide & veggie wash,i have tiny amounts of the high brix stuff left, well plenty of tea, amaze, pgr&bloomit, kinda worried how im gonna keep it organic, i do have plenty of bpn 3part &2part as well as liguid blue bloom booster, if i cant find an organic solution i may be forced to go back to salt based ferts,at least its bpn and i know the plants love that stuff, its just bad timing for all these issues to hit at once,i have faith in myself that i will manage, due to the past expirence i have had with disasters,(those of you who have read my journals know what i mean) but damn cant a guy get a pass! this is the part where the universe drops a bounty in my lap just you watch! (being positive fingers crossed):high-five:

well i dropped the power to 75% and saw a 10 degree drop during lights on for the high its still lights on and 76f right now i still have one more drop up my sleeve and can add more co2 generators, if i can get a swamp cooler fixed ill be in like larry flint:thumb:

Oh yeah bid, I can't wait to see what the heat does, I've had 106 already and they're still alive...that's 106 outside!

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

well fortunatly its down to the 60s at night when the flower rm is on im running 81-86f with the ballasts turned down to 75% power so im ok at night but veg during the day worries me that t5 puts out some heat! i have it turned down to only 4 bulbs on but daytime temps make the whole rm in the high 90s so im shittin french danish! with this record breaking heatwave focused on our area 4 corners im trippin like a 60s *cid test :bitingnails:

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

I hear ya about the heat...I'm in the four corners area also(did I read that right?) & it's so hot....my tent was 86 today.... Your plants look great...That OG Kush is droopy in flower just like my wonder woman...Was it extra perky in veg like her too?

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

ok so i just finished up some brix testing on the girls heres my method i found some nylon mesh perfect for a strainer very pliable like cloth, i take 3-4 nice looking leaves from around the plant nothing to old or brand new just from around the upper third of the plant, place them in the mesh and squeeze till they are nice and juicy then twist it till it produces a few drops i drop them on the prisim check to see its covered completely with it closed then read this is what i got tonight, seems the blue dream went down a little only reading 24 brix heres the pics

thanks omm it has to many tops to count! your only seeing 1 side of it the other side is even more tops but smaller at this point,it keeps getting crispy leaves but still swelling daily so i wonder if its not just consuming them i just watch it close and keep feeding them the high brix goodies, i really think theres something to the high numbers im getting and coco based medium, i wish i had gotten a refractometer sooner, your beauties are nothing short of fantastic too buddy! :high-five::thanks::circle-of-love:

So, using the refractometer, the more sugar a plant has in it the better the weeds gonna be? we use em back home all the time, the cannery tells us where they want the sugar for a certain crop to produce a certain product, we check the brix, and they get harvested at the brix level the cannery requests.

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

correction!!in the pics above i made a mistake i stated the 13 brix gdp was 37 days flower and the other gdp 21 brix was 50 days that needs to be reversed the 13 brix gdp is 50 days and the 21 brix is the 37 day flower plant it was late i was tired and got a lil dyslexic (i am dyslexic with numbers) it happens when im overtired my brain forgets to fix it so i flip and get things wrong concerning numbers,(i love smartphones that let me pick ppl by name & pics)..sorry for the mix up guys but at least i got the brix numbers right, :circle-of-love:

i gotta add im super excited at seeing the high numbers!:thumb::Love:
i think its the amount of minerals, mykos combined with the bpn nutes & coco allowing the plants to uptake at an accelerated rate,:thumb:
in the veggie garden i noticed all the plants in coco had higher brix than those in soil,i have tomatoes same species & age but some in soil some in coco, soon i will be able to test this theory on cannabis once my soil is done cooking and i can pick a plant to clone, best candidate right now is the chemdawg,so we'll see, this is exciting stuff i have tested the blue dream at least 6 times now and 24 is the lowest i have gotten! :cheesygrinsmiley::thedoubletake: i had to prop up some branches on it last night! first time for that strain, and some other notes on that plant,
its by far the most trich covered bd i have seen its developing glands on stems and larger fan leaves undersides are as covered as topsides, its aroma is the most intense:adore: if i even slightly brush aganist it the room fills with its fruity scent and even an hour later spiffy says "i smell her perfume on you! that other woman you cant deny being with her!" when are you bringing her home for a 3some! (:adore: spiffy) , this round of plants are just amazing!:kiss: if they had not been slightly heat stressed i think i might be seeing even higher brix readings and there would be less fried leaves,
but hitting high 80s for the more cold loving strains like the purples has taken a toll, but all things considered im thrilled with how this run has gone,:rocker:
im about to hydrate a 5k block of coco for the next run to go along with the soil im cooking and the larger containers i'll be using im planning on 3gal smartpots being the smallest ,i would like to find some of the 7 gal paint buckets,or nursery pots,i also have some cloth dollar store reusable shopping bags that look to be 5-7 gal, so if they can handle the weight of the medium thats another option,:goof:
but im really seeing the benifits of bigger containers:idea:
the only thing im planning on putting in the 1-2 gal pots is plants destined for breeding,:woohoo:
i have a few more pics of the girls from last night i will up today, the ones i did not test, the exodus cheese is looking good stretched up to even out the canopy and starting to flowerset nicely, sour diesel#2 is looking good and cresting well i expect it will put up some nice flowers.

well...yeah according to what docbud, curso, icemud, and several others have said the high brix cannabis is super duper superior with better flavor longer stronger no cealing high, with no down the more you smoke the higher you get & better you feel clearer mind while still being mega high, and they have ppl begging for it not wanting anybody elses produce, thus becoming high beix snobs, it makes sense that the healthier the plant the better the meds, i should be able to report on this in a couple weeks,a couple aregetting close to harvest!:thumb:

Hyehey, I have a question about the bud rinsing you did, If I remember you were washing it to get rid of airborne contaminants?, like cig smoke, dust, stuff like that? I'm sorry bid, and the results were?, and you did it in warm water....I wanna try it as my weed patch is in my bedroom where I smoke like crazy! I have just one non organic run under my belt, and the taste changed dramatically...same strain....I gotta get the rinse figured out.........timing could cost me weight. I have a feeling that there is a market somewhere for patients who are allergic to these contaminants, the sticky ass ganja has got to be loaded with these! Loadie gets congested sometimes when smoking.......

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

i followed what curso said he did,i think i told a few ppl that the result was uber smooth and tasty smoke it is how i will be doing all my flowers from now on, the method i used is as follows, get 2 containers i used pyrex pans one time, big salad bowls another, this next time i think 5 gallon buckets will be needed, in the first one combine 1tsp baking soda and 1 tsp lemon juice per gallon and hot water i used water that was 140f then in the second i put frigid water at about 50-45f i added ice to the cold water to bring it down that far but not much colder you are not making hash lol, i dunk and gently agitate in hot for about a 45sec to a min then inti the cold for twice as long as you did hot is the general rule here its basically blanching like you do to green beans or asparagus you want them to slightly cook and then get shocked out of it with the cold and stop them from cooking very fast, you will notice they look really bright in colors, and the waters will be nasty depending on how dirty the bud was, then i hang as normal to dry i set up a little assembly line type area with a cardboard box lined with paper towels at the end, so they drain off a while before hanging, i have gotten more agressive with the temps, times and aggitation since the first time i was worried about trich loss but i checked with an eye loupe and saw no ill effects even after doing as i just described, you could replace the lemon juice with white vingar if you have no lemon juice, but the juice is better, and thats it, do that and after drying and a weeks cure you'll smoke the smoothest bud ever and wonder why bud washing was not more common a practise :high-five:
i:Love:bud washing

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

Here's Curso's description - it was originally Doc Bud's idea - it makes great sense, and everyone I read who used the technique loved the results:

This pic is after the wash and hot/cold rinse. After I washed the branch in the lemon juice/soda/water, the first rinse was in water hot enough to steam, bath water basically. The cold needs to be at least 40 degrees lower than the first rinse. I found that holding a branch in the "hot" water for 15 seconds and then the "cold" for 30 seconds gave the best color. Basically the time in the cold has to be double what you had in the hot. Don't skip the cold...it stops the "cooking" process and you might end up sorry if you do. (not sure what will happen, I know what happens to vegetables when you let them "air cool" they turn to mush).

And here's Doc's recipe - IIRC, Curso changed the proportions a bit:

Good question! Here's what I do:

1. take off all fan leaves and really large sugar leaves.
2. Immerse partially trimmed buds in solution of 1 cup lemon juice and 2 cups baking soda in 5 gallons of water. Agitate for 30 seconds.
3. Immerse in second bucket filled with RO and agitate for 30 seconds
4. Immerse in third bucket of RO and agitate for 30 seconds
5. shake off as much water as possible, hang as usual and dry.

At the end of the drying cycle, trim off the dried up leaves that remain on the buds, being careful to keep them for the hash bag.

The buds come out so dang clean, with the best flavor I've had so far. They're super plump and stinky when you hang them, and they burn super clean.

That's what I'm doing.

Curso's True High Brix!
