BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Organic Coco Perpetual

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

Hey BID, how do the plugs work without the tray and dome? I didn't find the kit locally, just a small hydro store that had the plugs. The few high domes I see in stores are ridiculously priced though. Is there a decent place to get those at a reasonable price?

Any good garden center should have the trays, in separate pieces or sets.

i have never used the plugs without the dome personally, but i have seen where other ppl have turned them upside down like a traffic cone, and pushed a hole into the bottom with a pointy (sterile) item, a dome can be anything that works heres some pics of my first 2 domes

the next one was the bottom of a veggie tray/sampler,the top was from a cake that was in a plastic travel box from the supermarket, i used a regular 3 setting heatpad, set on low, wrapped in a towel or 2 however many layers i needed to keep the temps right, my new and current dome was not very expensive except the plugs and heatmat 20$ each, but the tray pieces were a couple bucks each the clear dome piece was 5$ maybe, obviously the new system is nice and works well but in all honesty my success rate was just as good in the old diy setup,,i still have them floating around in case i need them, since they still work fine i like knowing i have them for backup, and they get used for cloning and seedlings of other plant species, hhope that helps guys,,,(hint) if you skimmed thru mu journals you could see step by step how i got from 100% diy to where im at today, and i hear they are a pretty good read to boot...just saying

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

if it were not for diy i would have never started growing my own meds indoors thats a fact, i could not see dropping the kind of $ needed for a proper grow setup (even a small tent kit) not knowing if i would be any good at it,or even like doing it,
, but finiggiling together a few things i could pick up at any hardeware/home store, for under 50 bones was doable, and made it much easier to justify saving up and dropping 5 c-notes on gear several times now,(then theres my sugar mama that spoils me stinking rotten), so yeah diy is a pretty big deal to me lol

ash: not trying to be a rectum, just seems i have covered this subject a few times recently, and i know the info is here a multitude of times in dozens of journals and diy/how to threads, a little quick search will have you looking at the info faster than my slow old butt can get it for you, not that i mind in any way im here to to help, so part of that is helping you find stuff :cheesygrinsmiley: lol and if youhave any trouble finding stuff dont ever hesitate to ask, again thats why im here, im contemplating starting a new "helpline" thread ,its been done before but they lose momentum after they get long ,

ok im still prepping the flower tent update from last night its a pretty big update pic wise should be up in an hour or 2:thumb::thumb: oh just for poops & chuckles heres the diy aero cloner i built and use for a storage tote now

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

so i tested out a 5k block of roots organic coco aurora brand and i gotta share my findings and opinion i will go do a full review later, but its the worst dirtiest coco i have ever seen it 1 block i found several foreign objects a ring off a pop bottle, countless rocks, straw, non coco twigs and it was full of sand heres a couple pics of what i got from just 1 tray (my tray is one of those self sifting cat boxes with 2 reg and 1 sifting tray and a snap on scatter guard ) keep in mind this is just a small bit of the block i would break off some chuncks put them in the tray and hydrate i would fill the pan up ad stir thoroughly then lift off the strainer pan and slowly pour off the water and so forth i noticed there was something tan it the bottom and here ya go a butt load of sand

i washed pan after pan with this result, i decided to do a crude test and taste it for salt and as i suspected it was quite salty!!
this is outrageous!! and the packaging out and out lies here i'll show you what im talking about

20130617_185853.jpg
as you can see its bull all the way! and slingblade should be pissed and demand a refund he is where i got this block to test
as i understand it he has quite a few blocks
and had some issues when he used it i can see why its full of salt and trash!!
bottom line ..can you use it? sure BUT!!! be prepared to put in some time cleaning it up and picking out the trash rocks and salt, or your gonnakill plants using it right out of the bag hydrated,
im growing some great plants in this stuff but i never use coco without flushing, but this stuff took far more time at least quadruple any other coco i have tried, i will stick to my coco tek from gh never seen any sand whatsoever

Wow, that's some nasty coco
In OZ if its quality it's ADHA approved (clean and PH balanced)

Re: BID 5.1 Digital Dual JDL 600s - 4x4 - Blue Planet Nutrients - Organic Coco Perpet

Wow that's cheap, it's $20 for a 50lt block herein OZ. H&G is $28 a bag. All equipment is much cheaper in the US I think. Everything is, We pay 70% more for iTunes content for eg.
