BeezLuiz & LiquidIntel Are At It Again: Outdoor Grow Season 3

I'm thinking your 3 big girls are the perfect size for me next season. I grew a couple that got out of hand tall a while back and I couldn't maintain them properly.
Thanks Stone. I wanted to focus on smaller plants this year as I had similar issues as you regarding being too tall. I'm really happy with their size this year. I just hope I can repeat it next year.

Yesterday was a scheduled visit from my pest control guy so I had to relocate the plants out of harm's way.
While moving the Killer Haze, I realized that the branches are getting a bit unruly and floppy. I'm concerned that once the buds start stacking up, they will not be able to support the weight. So... after moving her back to her spot in the bark, I added some bamboo stakes and tied twine around each of them to help support the branches as the buds develop. Kinda like the wire cage setups, but this will remain mobile when needed.

Thanks HH! It has been really nice for my wife and I to go out into the garden each morning with our cup of joe. I tend to the girls while she dotes over the tomatoes. :Namaste:

It certainly is for us!

Here's an update on the autos both past and present.
Of the 6 autos in Round 1, five have been harvested and are currently curing at 62% rH. The weights were not terribly impressive, but we got a new variety of buds to try out soon. Not surprising, all the harvest times were a bit longer than what the breeders estimated. Here's a harvest summary:
Auto Summary.jpg

Sweet CBD got a late start so isn't quite ready yet. I'm thinking maybe another week, maybe two. I'll be surprised if I get more than 15 grams out of this one.

Round 2 autos were started on 6/26, but a couple failed to launch so a couple more were started on 7/2. One of which promptly died 3 days after sprouting, so we're just going with 5 plants in round 2. Here's the lineup and the breeder estimated harvest dates.

Yesterday was transplant day. I am super late getting these into a larger pot, but life events recently have moved my focus away from the grow. They are already into flowering at 26 days. Since I've never had an auto properly fill a 7 gal pot, I decided to put 2 plants in each pot. So the two DDa's are now bunk mates, and Ka2 and CMa2 are roomies as well.

And finally, an update on the Lemon Potion and its yellow leaves. Last week I gave the plant a good flush and followed up with a light amount of grow nutes and added a pinch of iron. I've also decreased the watering on it until the soil is completely dry. It seems to be improving slightly from before, with signs that the new growth may be coming in with more green. It seems fine other than the yellow leaves.

I hope you all have a great day rest of your week, and stay safe. :Namaste:

IMO it's Fe def as well. Penny is right HH in that it starts at the top, but the yellowing always starts from the inside of the leaf and works out, where a N def would work inwards from the tip. It's the only def that resembles that.
So while Felipe does his calculations the below image will show you what will cause a lockout/demand of Iron.

All the green arrows pointing to Iron decrease the availability of the Iron to the plant. All the black arrows pointing to it increase the demand for more iron. So if you are feeding high amounts of P and K you're really playing with both the demand and availabilty.
Strange only one chemovar is experiencing it.
hoowie! Think I Just understood that chart in a way I haven’t before. Thanks MrS. - something about your description there clicked :)
The flowering trigger is so strain-dependent. And apparently also depends on where the seed was bred.

You can use this chart, and information from the breeder, to estimate how many hours of darkness will trigger flowering, and about when that should be.

Hey - that’s still pretty useful notion even with all the (valid) debunkery that came after ;)

Where’d you source that chart from Felipe? I’d like to check it for where I am.

Whatta update!! :high-five:
:high-five:
The good thing about an iron def is it almost always corrects itself. Those yellow leaves will turn green again once you have it figured out.
That's encouraging info - Thank You!
Here's a photo from that one other LPa grow I was talking about
Looks just like mine! Must be something genetic that makes them sensitive to Fe uptake.
Love the pic of KAH sneaking into the shed :D such character!
I was feeling a bit whimsical when I took that pic. :)

It helped me to look at it again in the morning when I wasn't high. :Rasta:
I want a tomato.
You'll have to ask my wife. ;)
Thanks for taking care of Shed for me! :green_heart:

Hiya Amy! :high-five:

Looks like I overlooked your question - sorry!

This site looks to be even more detailed and helpful since you can look up cities worldwide.

:thanks: Cool - I’ve definitely seen that before. Too many numbers!
I just liked what you posted because it just had the hours there, no calculation or thought required at all!! Sometimes more sophisticated isn’t what I need ;) Sometimes I just like to be spoon fed info like that! Frees up my brain for other things, like deciding how much bud to pack in my pipe this morning :D

Good Wednesday everyone! :passitleft: I feel like it's time for an update on the photo girls. They are all doing well, just growing and transitioning into flower. They are drinking gallons of water every day. I've been feeding them each 2 gallons of nutrients every other day and in between giving them hose water until runoff. If I'm late with the food/water, they get all droopy and sad. It's pretty heavy fog layer this morning so pretty good for pictures.

I decided to pull the ladder out to get some top view pics and some measurements.

Gorilla Breath:
She's currently at day 118 from sprout / day 20 of flower and standing 52" tall. Probably not going to get much taller, but pretty dang large for only being in a 10 gallon pot.

Killer A5 Haze:
Killer Haze is 129 days from sprout and although first sign of pistil stigmas was on 7/2, she is taking her time getting the bud set going. She's still stretching, but starting to slow down - today measured 62" high.

Dr. S CBD:
Dr. S is also at 129 days from sprout and is furthest along in flowering. Very thick and bushy plant - gonna be a bear to trim, I've been told, and I'm becoming a believer.
