BeezLuiz & LiquidIntel Are At It Again: Outdoor Grow Season 3

I'm feeding them liquid grow nutrients from Emerald Harvest at the recommended strength of 2 ml/gal for seedlings. My adults photo period plants are currently getting 7.5 ml/gal.

I just gave her a good flush and will follow up with some nutes tomorrow.

Doh! My brain has been mush lately. Here's the correct photo.

Now, Luiz, if I could trouble you for some additional information - on the front labels, there should be a net weight. What is it for each, and what size bottles? I need to account for the density of the liquid.

It’s not a big deal - just makes the analysis more accurate. For example, 2ml each Grow A & B, if it’s 1000g for a quart, you would be providing:

28 ppm N
5 P
23 K
11 Ca
3 Mg

If it’s 1200g for a quart:

33 N
6 P
28 K
13 Ca

3 Mg

How about this?

IMO it's Fe def as well. Penny is right HH in that it starts at the top, but the yellowing always starts from the inside of the leaf and works out, where a N def would work inwards from the tip. It's the only def that resembles that.
So while Felipe does his calculations the below image will show you what will cause a lockout/demand of Iron.

All the green arrows pointing to Iron decrease the availability of the Iron to the plant. All the black arrows pointing to it increase the demand for more iron. So if you are feeding high amounts of P and K you're really playing with both the demand and availabilty.
Strange only one chemovar is experiencing it.

I like seeing this graphic shared around! :thumb: It says so much in such a tidy package.

One thing I noted early on though - where’s sulfur? Sulphate is an anion, presumably antagonistic with nitrate and phosphate (and chloride). So what gives, Mulder? :hmmmm:

In that case, 2 ml of each Grow A & B provides:

29N
5 P
24 K
11 Ca
3 Mg
3 S
0.6 Fe
and decent amounts of micros

Seems nice for seedlings.
Thanks for the math :high-five:
Are the Bloom bottles similar?
Yes indeed, they are similar.

Seems like every time I see that diagram, I'm too high to wrap my head around it. LOL :Rasta:I'll have to look at it in the morning.

So what's it telling me about my plant?:hmmmm: Should I add some iron?

Not sure. Coincidentally(?), the soil in the LP cup looks darker than the others. Maybe it’s just the photo. Is that cup wetter/heavier than the others? Is it possible that the medium is finer-grained (like from the bottom of the bag)? Excessive water retention/lack of fresh air in the root zone?

If I was to compare it with MC at roughly the same stage as the plant then the Fe amounts MC provides would be .795ppm. Plants don't use a lot of iron so my guess would be a lockout from something. Overwatering or bad pH in that cup of media would most likely be the cause imo.

BTW, your older plants, at 7.5 ml each of Bloom A & B, are getting:

86 N
38 P
162 K
43 Ca
22 Mg
11 S
2.1 Fe
and decent amounts of micros

This seems a bit light on Ca and Mg, but it wouldn’t matter if you have enough in your water.

Regarding the LPa. I came across a journal way back before I grew my first two that had the exact same characteristics as your current one. I'll see if I can dig up the photos but it did the same thing as yours is now and stayed that way through the grow (can't remember how it finished). Not sure if it's a genetic mutation or what, but hoping all the best for it! I'll always have a soft spot for those Lemon Potions now :D

Here's my current Pink Kush CBD, love how fast the colour comes in.

I think I had just watered it. Took the picture before watering the others. Here's what I did with the soil (I did the same thing for all the plants), I partially filled the solo cups with FFOF, but in the past I've had questionable results with FFOF on seedlings. (I know most people have never had any issue with FFOF being too hot, but I've suspected some issues on a couple occassions.) So... I add a couple inches of Seedling Starter soil on top of the FFOF, and plant the seed into that medium. Then as the seedling grows, the roots eventually reach the FFOF soil for more nutrient-rich growing. It's worked pretty well for me so far (unless that was a contributor to the Lemon Potion issue).

This is certainly a possibility and likely my issue. My tap water has been a bit weird lately. It's been fluctuating between 7 and 8+. In the large pots with 20 gallons of soil, I've never needed to worry about pH, but with the tiny solo cups, there's maybe not enough soil to buffer the pH and to be honest, I dropped the ball on these seedlings and didn't even check the pH. On all the previous plants this year, I was adjusting the water/feed solution when they were seedlings.
This seems a bit light on Ca and Mg, but it wouldn’t matter if you have enough in your water.
I do use tap water, and also on the mature plants, I use @Emilya 's homemade CalMagPhos solution, so I'm sure they are getting enough Ca. Plus, they look pretty dang good if I do say so myself.
And good luck with the Lemon Potion mutant. Maybe it does that if it actually has CBD in it? Apologies if that was my seed.
:laughtwo: Yes, indeed, this one is from you! If it makes it to harvest, it will likely get sent to the lab for testing!

Lemon Potions are just strange little growers.

Pink Kush CBD was one of the prettiest plants I've grown!
