This community and everyone here is amazing. You'll learn so much from everyone!

And I really wanna make my way down to the southern mountains, but I haven't yet unfortunately. Right now I'm up here in Breckenridge but I heard it's beautiful down there in the summer! I'll have to go check it out soon, and maybe even live down there at some point

One of my VERY best buddies I grew up with moved to Frisco about 6 months ago. I'll be visiting this summer and will get a little fly fishing in! Ok, maybe a LOT of fly fishing.

When I decided to move to Colorado I spent a week in Summit county, Aspen and Durango and fell in live with the Durango area. Laid back and a college town. Lower elevation so not so harsh winters.

Look at how thick this stem/stalk is on this 23 day old plant!!

If you look closely, you can see some sugar on the lower leaves. Yes, sugar on a 23 day old plant. Wowza! I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but I busted out the loupe and yes....trichs are starting to show up!!

Started training the two larger plants with wire.

Hello everyone...I hope you're having a great day! Long week for me...glad tomorrow is Friday! :lot-o-toke:

The 2 bigger plants are doing good after the recent beheading but I'm kinda bummed out. If you notice...the one plant has a set of leaves with 8 blades. I thought we had 2 consecutive sets of 7 bladed leaves coming out but all the sudden this one grows the 8th. So I don't know. I read that it could be due to stress. I don't know...don't know what stress i could have put it under. I hope it doesn't affect anything with it if it turns up female because I'm liking that plant a lot! It appears to be different pheno than the other 3.

#3 is due for a topping pretty soon.

Hi Blighty and thank you for the kind words. They are currently in 1 gallon root pouches. I intend to put them in 10 gallon root pouch pots.

Have a great day!!

Thanks Beavis. I have Ten 1 gallon root pouches on standby :thumb: I just haven't used them yet so was curious about your ones.

Give them a misting of half strength de-stress if you haven't already. Don't over do it and try and spray the bottom of the leaves. You can spray up to twice a week and store the extra mixture up to a week in the fridge also. When we do any sort of heavy LST or topping we give them a misting of the stuff. It's amazing what it does.

They are looking good bud, no worries. Maybe the humidity is a touch low but other than that.

I like em! I bought the 10 pack too. I was a little concerned about overwatering as I read that is probably the most common newb mistake and that the cloth pots helped newbs prevent overwatering. So being a newb, I thought that was a good route for my first grow.

Ok, cool Nismo, I appreciate it. THat puts my mind at ease that I'm on the right path.

I'll be giving them a Destress foliar tonight.

We started out in plastic 1s, like we still use, and just weighed them. A dry 1 gallon pot weighs right around a kilo (2.2 lbs).

Thanks Beavis. I struggled a bit to figure out how to water when i switched to fabric pots at first but got there in the end. I love the way those roots grow but did notice my RH rise a little. I got good results starting seeds in the 1 gallon root pouches then putting them outside in the ground around May time.

That's awesome you found a method that gives you good results! Now, if I can only manage similar results! haha

Ok, did a little Destress foliar action on the 2 larger plants tonight...that stuff is dark! It's fun using the different tools in the Hi Brix toolbag.

Hope everyone is having a great night! I'm watching the US and Jamaica soccer match which the US is winning 1-0 so far. :tommy:

Quick update:

Topped plant #3 and gave it a Destress foliar. Couple more days and all the pots will need watering.

Made about 15 gallons of RO last night with the sweet little system DrCannabi recommended so I won't have to mess with water for awhile...and no more buying distilled from the store.

Today was watering day in the garden.

Plants 1, 2 and 4 got RO water with 1/4 strength transplant and #3 got its first GE drench with tea and 1/4 str. transplant.

Backfilled a little dirt in a few of the pots that had become compacted. Got weights of pots pre and post watering.

Plants 1 and 2 are starting to get some fast growing vegetative growth at the nodes.

I'll post pics tomorrow when the two bigger plants will get their Brix foliar.

2 older plants are right at 26 days. Been checking for sex and still not showing anything (at least that I can tell).

Houston, we have a problem!

Yesterday, Beavis went to school. The lesson yesterday was Don't Overwater Your Plants.

I had read all the warnings and was determined not to be THAT newb.....but I was. After some reflection, I can see that I have been using the wrong drench technique and also not waiting long enough in between waterings.

My two main plants, as you can see in the pics below, are showing signs of stress from overwatering. My problem with the technique is I was dunking them to 2/3 up but using so little volume water the pot would soak it all up and the water level in the bucket I was dunking in was only maybe a couple inches high on the pot. So, I need a larger container and volume of water to dunk in so that I can hold the plant at that 2/3 level the entire time and allow the water to get to the soil on top of the plant.

With the way I was doing this, the top 2-3" of soil in my pot were still totally dry. I was pouring drippings back through the top several times and I think this oversaturated the soil.

In Summary: Don't Be Stupid Like Beavis and Overwater Your Plants or they'll look like this:

Unfortunately, I watered them Monday night before getting the overwatering advice on Tuesday. So I sprayed with Destress and will let them dry out big time. Then I'll do a hard Rescue Drench per Doc's suggestion.

Hopefully I haven't done irreparable damage to these two plants. Luckily, I have two smaller ones, 2 weeks younger, coming up behind these. I've probably been overwatering the younger ones too but for a lesser period of time and they aren't showing stress signs yet....so I'll really dry those suckers out going forward.

I was really down and disappointed yesterday. I thought that with tons of research, notes and care, I could have a smooth first run. But now I realize it's all part of the learning journey and there is a learning curve just like everything else in life. I'm just thankful for this wonderful community for helping keep me between the lines when I veer off course.

Have a great day all!!

Upon instruction from the Brix team, after letting the pots dry out thoroughly and letting the plants wilt pretty good, I gave them a Rescue Drench today. The plants have deteriorated since posting the pics 8 days ago. At this point I think they are probably gone but it's sorta like a science experiment in that I want to see how they respond to the drench and see if I can sex them anytime soon...they are about 5 weeks old from seed. I trimmed up some of the lower yellow and almost dead leaves then drenched.

I have 2 plants on the JV team that are getting promoted to the Varsity Squad. 1 is 10 days old and the 2nd is almost a month. The month old plant has probably been overwatered too but not as long as the 2 larger plants. Month old plant got a Rescue Drench today too as it is very slightly showing some of the initial stress signs I saw in the larger 2 plants.

I drenched with 4 gallons RO in a homie depot bucket with 4 oz of Transplant and 24 mils Tea.

We'll see what happens. May need to chalk one up to experience and do a reboot!
