Barneys Farm Sponsors Grow: Gorilla Zkittles, Orange Sherbert Plus Many More

Hey all! Apologies for the absence. Yesterday was one of those days

They are looking great Prof :cheer: That plant is about to bust out that tent
Thank you Irie. The Phantom will be flowering in 2 days time. She'll need a little trim first then we are good to go
Looking great Prof and that girl is taking over the tent! She’s going to explode come Flip Day! Going to be interesting to see how much she stretches!

I’ve got some good news! My girls are growing strong and are doing well after the transplant!

They look really good Dutch. I'm currently having problems with mine again. I'm going to do something crazy later which I'll explain in this evenings update
appreciated mate.
Aren't you flying out tonight? Looking forward to seeing the possibly not so little ones. Safe journey home GG

I'll be doing a full update on the highs and lows of what's happened over the last 2 days shortly. Thank you for your patience and happy growing everyone

Flowering Day 11

Hey 420! I've not seen these 2 over the past couple days very much and I was pretty happy when I arrived home from work today. Both are looking good for Day 11 and I don't have many concerns so far. My only tiny concern is that the Orange Sherbert is a bit too bushy and may need to be trimmed lightly over the next few days to allow light to hit the bud sites...which she is covered in! She's flying. I'm hoping that there is a little more stretch in her though as the Gorilla Zkittles is still shooting up without any signs of stopping yet. Both are still nice and healthy looking and I've just given them a feed. The pots suddenly went dry on me and I think I know now when they need a watering. I've given them 12g of MegaCrop in 10ltrs of water which works out at about just under 1000ppm. Let's have a look at what we have today....

This one is going to plan and what a superstar of a plant. The Phantom OG seems to be pretty indestructible and only wants to grow more. She's due a feeding now which I'll do tomorrow. I don't know which way she's going to go in terms of structure. It may have an OG appearance with the buds in little clusters dotted up the stems or it may have some long colas. I'd prefer the latter lol. The thrips are all gone now and the milk is slowly flaking off. Just in time....

Can’t wait to see what happens when you flip her. Your right about being indestructible, I accidentally split 1 of mine and it is still hanging in there with some amazing growth in the last 3 days. 3 days between pics.

She’s definitely a big old girl and going to need a haircut before flowering! Can’t wait to see what she turns into though!

Thanks Irie!
It'll mainly be a trim low down. I'll have 3 lights for this one so I'll be able to get light down to the bottom of the plant with side lighting
Your grow is looking awesome. Sure they stretching real nice right now. Sure you cant wait to see buds though. Happy growing bro
Thanks CK! Hopefully we'll have some frosty mountain tops in there soon. The Orange Sherbert is already well under way to having some bud

love the leaf comparison Prof. Those girls are flying now and on the way to buddage. Please refresh my memory without having to thread scour prof , are you allowing them to grow untrained till finish or have i missed a heap of earlier training ? .
So glad to be home after the holiday from hell.lol
I ran up those ladders to my attic and sadly had no faith in the 10 day idea. Udoing that Zip was scarier than my first sexual encounter with zips!!! .Seeing at least green , instantly removed the four elephants holding the discworld off my back( sorry terry pratchett megafan.lol) The small light has kept them at bay until now and seeing the coty leaves consumed and crispy gave me hope. There are def signs of needing feeding and the coco was as dry as a nuns crotch/witches boob( delete as preferred ) Took the below pics before the feeding with ppm300 gh trio .

Considering you abandoned them and went on holiday, they look damn well GG!
They will make me pay for it to somewhere down the line , just like my other kids.lol
I am relieved and can get them under the 600MH tomorrow. Time to play catch up with Prof and Dutch hopefully. I am going coco with them as temps here are on the up and i cannot be arsed to fight the rdwc. Seeing as i have a dinosaur lighting rig , heat will get to be a pain soon enough ( and because i still cant get a Mars by hook or crook !)lol
Looking forward to cracking on now with so many folks like you to have eyes on them too in here. Fingers crossed.

Well we've had all the good news for tonight so it's time to get the bad news out of the way. The Strawberry Lemonade and Blue Gelato 41 have a bit of a problem. I came home from work and did my usual grow room inspection. I noticed that the slime mould had returned a little and that the other mould had also spread. I then got a smell of something a little off. I decided to look a bit closer and noticed something bad. We have root rot. It's really bad as well. Those cubes are a load of crap and I'd advise anyone not to use them. Not to worry. The game is only just beginning. We'll save these 2 and before long they'll be growing well enough to put into the DWC buckets. In the below pics the plants don't look too bad....

Blue Gelato 41....

Strawberry lemonade....
ORG_DSC00883.JPG

The Strawberry Lemonade has more slime appearing at the base. At first I thought that I'd just re -apply the cinnamon but it was too late. I can see furry mould deep inside the pebbles....
ORG_DSC00880.JPG

The Blue Gelato isn't quite as bad but it's still too late. The fur is there and there is also a slimy substance covering the net pot. It's time for some drastic action....
ORG_DSC00881.JPG

So what did I do about it? I did the only thing I could....well I could have thrown them like any sane grower would have but where's the fun in that. Instead I removed them from the pots and not so carefully took them out of the hemp cubes. The roots are like a sticky brown and smelly mess. Completely ruined is what they are. The cubes disintegrated when I removed them making it easy to take the plants out. Those cubes really are terrible....

Blue Gelato 41....

Strawberry lemonade....
ORG_DSC00886.JPG

I then chopped off most of the roots with a pair of scissors and rinsed them under a cold tap before putting them into my aeroponic propagator. My intention is to simply regrow the roots. I'm remaining optimistic about the whole scenario as I've saved a plant with severe rot before by doing the same thing....
ORG_DSC00887.JPG

The thing is that both plants don't look like they have no roots even when they we're in the net pots. I couldn't tell that anything was wrong until I had a good look. Hopefully they'll be still standing in the morning....

I've put the dome on with the vent fully open as I'm treating them in a similar way to clones. This is what I meant about not having a plan Shed lol....

Welcome back GG! Perfect timing lol. They look great considering. After that feed they'll be marching on in no time. In regards to the training with the OS and the GZ I've hacked them up quite a bit, mainly to remove damaged growth. They've also been topped a few time each. For now I'm letting them grow but I will hit them incredibly hard by the end of stretch. Almost every leaf that you see in those pics will be gone and in a couple weeks they'll all be replaced by many more. Hydra style! Then I'll probably have to do it one more time but not as heavily. The OS will be tied down with string shortly but I'll probably leave the GS as light is passing through her quite well at the moment. She's still getting the heavy trim though

Think you'll find that it is i who'll be playing catch up with you 2 lol
time will tell. you seem to have nailed the slime issue now so hopefully dwc will accelerate them nicely. Dutch's look brilliant from those mars lights , kills me i cant crack a sponsor from them. lol Hps v Mars side by side with same strain and room conditions. led is on my must have now list with electricity saving alone , Mrs GG getting nervous about high use again. lol
looking forward to this mate, will be a great learning process for me alone never mind any new growers looking in. Happy days.
