Hello there Holler!
Thanks for your kind compliments, but to be honest the real stars are the plants/strains/genetics, because as I have no help with my cannabis grow, I try to keep any unnecessary babying and fussing to an absolute minimum.
I think Autos are easy but I have only ever grown stuff from 2 breeders who have been in the Auto game from the beginning here in Europe. I was never a fertiliser happy gardener and when I started growing cannabis last year, I just continued my easy on the nutes tendencies with my Autos and they loved it. They are quick and rewarding if they like what one is doing.
You're a well experienced farmer, so I probably don't have to tell you that the early veg fert kick will only work with autos if your substrate is pretty empty of nutes. The only auto grow I messed up (well stunted) was my first one, cos she just did not take kindly to the veg nutes at 14 days. She responded by sitting there doing nothing for nearly two weeks.
Thanks for the good wishes, I will be taking down 2 of my girls at the weekend - probably a week too early for the AM but I am away in 10 days for work and the Supreme Leader is pleading ignorance; plus he hates nature (bugs and any sort of wild vegetation)

Hey Bapple! I think that there are so many opportunities for autos. But of course we are still pretty far from having truly hybrid homogenous
seed sources. They still tend to flower at different times and are not very uniform in appearance. The things so far that I have seen for autos are.
-You can use up that wasted light in a grow room during vegetating by scattering some autos in pots in gaps in your grow canopy. They can begin flowering and finish shortly after flip. It's like free weed for the same electricity.
-Being able to flower "out of season" sure will make it a done deal as far as LE is concerned. My outdoor autos are literaaly growing in a sea of green and would be a challenge to spot. But the best part is that they don't even really start looking until September. I could have 2-3 staggered crops harvested by then.
- They are what I call a poor lazy man's weed. Even if you just plop them into a bucket with any commercial potting mix and keep them watered. You will harvest a crop.
- By flowering your crop during the peak of the summer you can time it to avoid some of the molds and mildews that plague us here in the fall.
- It's really nice to be able to grow some different varieties that normally would not finish in my climate or would take too long to be viable in a room.
- Lastly ....It's FUN!! if handled properly the little stinkers really grow! They absolutely dig the heck out of Appalachia!
I'm sure there are others. Have fun on your sojourn I always love coming back and seeing how my fields look after being away. Sorry for being so long winded. As always, best of luck in all you grow!
