aww shucks! im just a poor cripple with needs to deal with, i started a long time ago with cfl,s tinfoil on the walls of a closet in a old single wide that was condemned, growing bagseed with miracle gross soil and nutes growing in coffee cans, and desire to learn everything i can, it just takes time and patience, im nothing special, but thanks for the ego boost! and welcome aboard, the "bidtrain of skitzo" where its all a split second away from me changing everything with 0 notice!! cuz thats the fun i have!! i hope you had fun watching!

You mention on a post in page 22 of this thread about spraying the CS and letting her "self pollinate"? I thought when you spray with CS you need an additional unmolested fem to pollinate for seed?

yeah i went overboard but it will work out to the good for my breeding program at least,
on the cs question, yes the best way is to use another clone but in some cases you cant like with autoflower strains you cant clone if you have only 1 and want to keep the gene pool closed to just that strain ,well you dont have many options, with the cream caramel auto i had just the one seed so when i harvested it i left the lower branches to play with i put 2 other auto strains of pollen and on another branch i used cs spray and left it to pollinate its self so from one plant i got many seeds 2 crosses and some self/fem seeds oh and about an oz seedless from the harvest of the top i love breeding tech!

Do the resulting seeds become auto's as well? Not sure I like the idea of auto flowering..

auto blueberry awesome! if the breeder did a good job
yes they should be basically like a clone since the only chromosomes involved are from the plant in question so the auto trait should be strong,i just would not cross auto with regular strains the resulting seeds will only be about 15-20% auto and need to be bred repeatedly for the auto trait to become homogenous again
i actually love autos ,but i too was not sure in the beginning, but after growing them and smoking them,i see the value, it can grow in places and at times non auto strains would not work so well, and i have read of growers keeping them in a window sill with good southern exposure from seed to harvest, no worries of light leaks,they grow well under fluros/hps/mh/sun i have yet to have a female hermie on me, they are tougher and can handle cold and high winds better, most are mold and bug resistant, the issue is seeds since you cant clone, but i took my first couple auto males and went for seeds so now i have more auto seeds than i can use in 5 years, and some interesting crosses to try, i got very lucky with my Himalaya blue diesel and got 1 male 1 female so i ended up with about a full cup (8ozcup) full of hbd , most breeders dont offer males but short stuff does! (wink wink nudge nudge) i went thru the sponsor castle
sometime with certain strains i feel the males are the more important plant, if you mean to breed, especially with autos, i crossed every auto i had with the hbd male lol and im about to make a grip of new crosses when the babies grow up!!

Awesome video journal. What a cool way to document your grow. Im definitely going to throw a few of these in my journal. Your mother plants are awesome. Any tips on how to start a mother garden would be great.

you could do that ,but not all cs sprayed strains react the same some need the pollen sacs removed and manual extraction of the pollen is needed, i would spray the lower half collect pollen then pollinate the top buds to get the maximum amount of seeds the reason for this is top buds do a better job producing fully developed seeds and this ensure good coverage if you apply the pollen with a q-tip or paintbrush thers a thred by granny420 that goes into great detail on feminized seed production on autos ,i have put the link up a few pages back if you cant find it with search ,good luck its a fun adventure

just remember shop bought cs liquid is poisenous and it cant be injested or smoked, so if you buy the cs done get smoaking any of the stuff you spray, the seeds will be ok and the plants grown from them seeds will be ok, its just the shop bought cs solution is not to be injested in any way, BID has got a guide on how to make your own safe cs,

ok i have been lax in updates 1000 apologies my friends & family, today will bring new pictures and possibly video,if i have the patience,
you guys are gonna yell at me, i popped a couple more auto seeds they are crosses i made last harvest, you want names dont you? ok "BLUE CARAMEL"= hymilaya blue diesel dadXcream caramel auto mom, and "SUPER BLUE AUTO DIESEL"=himalaya blue diesel auto dad X super automatic sativa mom, i cant wait!
im giving away quite a few after i see them grow for a week or 2, theres a patient i have been more or less sponsoring, he and his mom are very poor and very sick, it seems the only thing that gets her to a point where he can get his mom up and out of bed and functioning is my weed! she cant afford the 95$ an eighth the only collective/compassion club wants for their "donation" me i will give my last gram away to a sick person and all i want is to be able to give more, even if it means im gonna spend more days in bed myself, because to me thats what this is all about, the industry so far is not much different than wall street in my exp, i know there are many many others like me out there but i have not met them around here at least, just regular type business, it makes my heart hurt to think they dont give anything away, ok fine keep your top shelf blue cheese,chemdog,jack herer for your wealthey patients, but cut loose with some decent 2nd 3rd shelf meds for FREE!! greedy mofos!! i know growers donate free of fee meds for the poor sick ppl ok ok im getting worked up here ,i know have some meds,,I CANT I GAVE IT ALL AWAY AGAIN!,so im done till the small wwxbb,bbgum and chemdogs are finished in another month at least,,,

PREACH IT BROTHER!! It's an awesome experience to see that your hard labor helped to improve someone's quality of life, even if it is just getting out of bed, it's a HUGE improvement to simply lying there getting bed sores.

I know you, you're going to be growing anyway, because it's something that you love and believe in, so why the hell not help the indigent or non ambulatory?

ok picture time
first is flower tent 1, with chemdog and white widow x big bud except 1 lone blueberry gum clone,

next is chemdog then wwxbb closer up 8.9 days in flower

now for some real close ups of the clones that have been in flower for 4 weeks now,, i will start with the bb gum then wwxbb then chemdog

just the one shot coming up is wwxbb

now chemdoggy dog!, it has a wonderful aroma not sure what it reminds me of, except for just really fine cannabis ! im so anxious to try this one, never grew a plant till now thats on the LEDGENDARY list

now some close upish stuff of the big girls

ok 1 of wwxbb lol seems like alot of bud for 8.9 days gotta love glr for veg,flowering happens so fast, seems like it has cut down overall flowertime on some strains by up to 2 weeks compared to not using glr, next is the seedlings looking good to me in their coco homes

now for the mid sized clones looking great under t5 glr, trained and getting ready for the scrog,the 2 in cups were put in flower tent 1, perpetual and all that jazz

and with this great new light (oracle garden supply 4ft 6 bulb t5 30,000 lumens,312 watts,6500k $209.95 msrp) temps are awesome in tent2 with only a 50cfm fart fan for exhaust

, bring in the scrogggggg!!!!!!!!!

ok thats it for now, ,i noticed the chemdog clone in flower has some odd leaves on top, but all the new growth has that high brix shine, telling me they are in really good health they smell great too, so i'll just keep an eye on them ,
so i was wondering how you guys keep a clone like for holding it, not trying to grow it fast, in fact the opposite, i want to keep a few clones that i take later on, to hold back for breeding or whatever but i dont want them to grow fast, is it just a matter of giving them little food and low light, i will go look for an anwser, but if you have a method i would love to hear it

in a pic about half way down the post with clones and seedlings, there are 2 2lt bottles with tubes in and out attached to some 1/4 drip line. Whats up with that?
