Feel free to post a link to it here!
I learned a lot reading through the journal I've linked below. It's a perpetual journal so he might be starting up another round soon.
Awesome, thanks I will. One other question I had is about starting seeds in rockwool ive never done it, is it worth using it or should i just start the seed in perlite

I've never used rockwool, but it should work fine. I know some growers have used rapid rooters and jiffy pucks to start their seeds, and just planted those in the perlite like they would in soil, so I don't think there would be any issues.

Day 21

Both plants have been fertigated, and I raised the light a few cm. I'm thinking I'll be able to top them in a couple of days. They're working on their 6th nodes, and I intend to octoline them.

That's it for today, thanks for looking in!

Day 22

Up to my old habits again
I cleared off the bottom two nodes after taking the pics.
And I'm too lazy to go back down and take new ones :)
GSC is ready to be topped, but I want to do them both at the same time. Keep the timing in synch.

Damn they are going to be bushy!! Break out the fans!!
They've already got a couple on them, nice and gentle though. Enough to ruffle the leaves.
We're already here. :)
😆

Day 23
Vivosun has started giving me a handy little graph of the tent conditions for the past week, so I'll be posting that as the conditions update.

I topped them today, before taking the pics.

@Melville Hobbes whats your VPD goal?
Uhhhm...yes?
Lol, I don't really have one. The plants get what they get.
The "lung room" is a finished basement, the majority of which is really well insulated. The temps outside the tent don't vary much, and the humidity varies by season. We'll be getting down into the 30%s over the winter, and maybe the high 20%s if it's a dry one.
The plants will mostly keep the tent well above ambient, and in veg the inline fan is set to turn on/up at 60%.
In flower it's always on to keep the smell under control, and it'll be set to raise its speed if the humidity manages to get above 45 or 50% to help prevent mould.
When I didn't have a controller I just always had it on low, unless the hygrometer showed it was too high.
If the GrowHub wasn't so easy to set and forget I'd probably still be doing that.

Copy that! I wasn’t sure if you were following a VPD schedule of some sort considering you have all the info :)

Regardless plants look happy :)

Day 24
It's not really showing in the pics, but GSC is starting to show the faintest beginning of a magnesium deficiency.
I'm adding 0.5g of magnesium nitrate to the 4 litre jug of feed.
Looking at Cherry Bomb, she doesn't seem to need more mag, but I'd like to see her darken up a little, so the mag nitrate should help her too. She's also drinking a lot faster than GSC.

Thanks!
Honestly I haven't seen anything that makes me think I need to stress about it. I've seen a grow or two go sideways when the grower tried chasing numbers, like runoff ph.
I would also have to change the environment of the whole house to shift it in any meaningful way.

Those fan leaves are perfectly huge and purty! Looking fine in there. :thumb:

Day 25

Cherry Bomb seems to like having leaves touching the perlite. It won't be long before those leaves are completely shaded, so I'm considering removing them.
GSC is a weird little knot of leaves, lol.
You'd never know she's days older than Cherry Bomb.
I like seeing the new growth starting to poke through to the canopy.

I do love those big fan leaves!
Steady hand on the topping, and they're getting to the size that the algae is in the shade (just like you'd hoped)!
Maybe that's why it's turning black :D

I was trying for a goal but after some time I’ve realized I can only do what I can and then it’s all just monitoring it and hoping they like it lol

Plants are looking perky and I love the all perlite. Never seen it before but it’s working great in your grow.

Thanks Wayne!
Switching from soil to perlite hempy really was a bit nerve wracking at first.
I kept waiting for things to go pear shaped. But I'm a lot more comfortable with it now.

I keep thinking I must try hempy but it's hard to move away from coco
I've done LOS, NFT, Flood n Drain & SIP/drip grows, but haven't moved since I started using coco [which is effectively a manual flood n drain due to watering frequency]

Just can't quite get my head around the concept
:hookah:

Lol, I keep thinking I should try coco!
It's the ph thing that's kept me from it. Although now that I think of it, they say the same thing about hempy 🤨🤔
Hey, maybe we should do a joint grow sometime! I'll grow one plant in coco and you grow one in hempy.

I , for one, would love to see that Mel! :)
