The algae isn't dead yet. I may come up with a temporary shield for the top of the pot to get some contrast between the plant and its background.
Here are some screenshots of the tent conditions, for those who are interested.

And on to the plants

I actually like it. It looks like grass.
Well I'd prefer if it weren't there. It's interfering with the pics too.
I felt the exact same way about SIP! Slow slow slow HOLD ON!!!
I have heard that there can be a bit of a stall, going from a regular pot to a SIP. Luckily, the soil in my outdoor SIP was moist rather than wet in the top half, so it didn't really stall when I transferred it from the solo cup.
I think it's because my SIP has a small res for its size.

GSC is looking like she might be brushing the top of the res. I should know for sure when I compare these pics with the ones I take tomorrow.
I think Cherry Bomb is looking pretty happy too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Looks like the algae is here to stay.
It doesn't seem to have noticed the H2O2.

Babies looking good MH, how far down does the algae go?

If you cover the Perlite to block the light, it will limit the algae growth. Paper plate, plastic bag, etc... :thumb:
Yeah, I thought about doing that, but the top of the pot is the only point of significant oxygen exchange.
Since the algae isn't actually hurting anything I think I'll just wait until the leaves shade the soil. If that doesn't kill it, at least I won't see it anymore.

Thanks con!
Since the perlite is opaque, it only goes down about 5mm. It does need light to survive, as MedScientist said.
I am wondering why the peroxide spray didn't do anything though.

Here they are today.

Have a good one!
The little girls look good.

They're both growing well, especially Cherry Bomb. She seems determined catch up with her big sister. In fact she's bigger than the Pink Rozay, even though she's younger.
They're both on 1g/litre Mega Crop.

Dang, that algae would drive me nuts. It seems to be getting a deeper green. But, the plants seem okay so far. :thumb:
Yup, it looks almost black in some spots. It's mostly harmless, although I do wonder if there's a chance it could trap moisture against the stem and cause damping off.
I'm continuing to spray hydrogen peroxide to make sure that doesn't happen.
Just think of each as a single palm tree growing on a small lush island!
That's a nice image, but I think I'd prefer a palm tree growing on a beach of nice white sand!
The little girls look good.
Thanks Ramblin!

GSC is feeding exclusively from the res, and Cherry Bomb is ready for that too, based on how fast she's moving.

I'll be posting these tent conditions every Wednesday, for those of you who are interested.

I switched to the veg recipe, and unplugged the heat mat under the pots.
This means the night temps are going to be a couple degrees cooler, and the light will be a bit more intense.
Otherwise, things are going well.

They are starting to get their feet under them now. We are all going to blink and they are going to be 4x their current size!

Had some wet snow today, about a month later than usual.
Temps are steady, but humidity has dropped. That doesn't bother them though.

Yeah, I really don't like the seedling phase.
But I do prefer working with seeds rather than clones.
I like not knowing exactly how they'll turn out, and the possibility of finding something special.
plants are looking good Mel! Can't wait to see this grow in flower
Thanks Stizz1e!
That's one of the best parts about switching from soil. I don't have to wait as long!

Now I just keep them fed and get out of their way!

Thanks for checking in!

Do they grow that much faster? I've never grown in anything except soil, but a fungus gnat situation in my purple tent has me reconsidering my medium

Have you tried mosquito dunks for fungus gnats?
Might help you get rid of them until your ready to try something different.
If you go with Mel’s method you will get a good increase in growth speed. :thumb:
Great job Melville. :high-five:

Stay safe
