Well the mail fairy brought me a special package today, all the way from Thailand! A while ago, Nick Hardy threatened to send me some brass balls - like, actual brass balls. We joked about it and I saw some pictures. Then I sorta forgot all about it. Until today. The picture below shows my brand new pair of brass balls! Get the controller Monday and I’ve got this grow somewhat back on track. Oh and in my panic I bought 3 more 60w strips like the others yesterday. They’ll be here Friday/Saturday as well.
That’ll pop my total wattage up to 1315w - the extra 15w being the UVC to combat mould, PM and creepy crawlies. I’m going to hang that permanently in the tent and just use very occasionally.
I’ll have to put a camera in there to see what it looks like as it must be used in a sealed box, in this case the tent.

The new res this time I went a touch hotter (9 ml/gallon of Remo flower instead of 8) Stats are:
Ph: 5.68
Ppm: 1260
Temp: 66.8
Those are the only three stats I concern myself with..
The roots look pretty clean considering the method. They’re increasing in mass each time. I *think* the 5 will be enough space to take her through, but we already know she goes long, so if I need to I have a ten gallon res already prepped. When I did this with the Watermelon Wedding Cake I needed every inch of the ten gallon res.
Upstairs she looks great and is a constant battle to kill the immense amount of crappy side branching this strain creates in the stretch. So far so good.
Coco coir. People use it to buffer pH in DWC and that's why you'll find recommendations to add it in hydro. Potassium silicate do the same and more in water cultures, potassium bicarbonate also work well as a pH up buffer.Forgive my ignorance but aren’t you supposed to add cal-mag with hydro? Its really all about the Calcium in soil, especially if you can get a myco colony going. Ha , guilty as charged I use 4-0-0 + Fe from seedling to harvest. May account for why probably my leaves remain green to the end (apart from where I have occasionally burnt or otherwise mistreated them! I guess through laziness - one 20L jerry can lasts a couple of grows. What off the shelf product would you recommend for late flower?
