Autos v. Photos - A 5x5 No Rules Fight for Yield: A Jon & NickHardy Gig

Organic Garden
Strawberry Banana and Blue Dream

Raised the light from 8” to 14” today. It’s 680 watts. It’s enough for one plant or two like these. I can’t measure the light when the reds and flower boost are engaged, it won’t give me accurate readings. So I have to do it by eye and feel and intuition and hopefully with a little bit of knowledge. Doesn’t have to be the entire Akashic Record. Just a little. Lmao. 14 felt better than 8, and I really like this plant and don’t want foxtails. Lol. So if the light is a tiny bit on the high side that’s okay. Widens the light field anyway.

Here’s both plants with focus colas and such.

I love this California Super Soil. The results speak for themselves. I’ve grown this Strawberry Banana five times before, as an example. I’ve never once come close to anything this big. Psych.

Beginning to wonder. I know factually that my G8 C3 is a superior light to the FC-E6500. However….the G8 has been running almost continuously for four years. This is only the second grow ever for the FC-E6500. I’m starting to wonder if my diodes have degraded in the G8 to the point where the FC-E is now a better light? I know that happens. Hmm….Reason I’m wondering is due to the density of the Trizkit buds. They are not hermie. But they’re hermie dense. Like super ultra dense. I don’t remember feeling denser on the vine ever, not in my grows. And I’ve done nothing other than what I do. It’s forcing me to think the difference is the light.

A clone would tell?? If you had a clone and ran it under the other light that would give you clarity that it's not genetic? Could just be a hulk like pheno?

Enjoying the show over here bro keep it up

Hey @Greenvein - yeah. Although all that would tell me is which is better now. I think I’ll have to do a ppfd test at various distances to really see to what extent the G8 is compromised. I know what it was when I got it cuz it was extremely close to the given par map. Like mostly within 10 or 20 points close, which is way for an app. It still gives me great density and frost, but not density like this. On the other hand, it could just be the strain too. Like most things I find in growing - you never REALLY know. All we do is give everything our best guess. Lol!

More pics. We work so hard to get them to the point where they’re actually photograph-worthy….may as well take some pictures. In 163 pages I’m quite sure I’ve babbled enough.

The Tridiculous Trizkit

Just trace the side branches on the branch in the first photo, and see how ridiculously productive this plant can be. I don’t even know how it’s standing up it’s so heavy. It’s chock full of dense, mostly golf ball sized buds. I figure she has maybe ten days to two weeks. We will see.

Trizkit Trichome Watch

This can drive you crazy if you let it. Lol. I’m going to try to wait two days before next check.

Yeah, good luck with that.

That reminds me of the old Tootsie Pop commercial. The question was posed, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?"

The usual guesses were dozens or even hundreds but the answer in one of them was three; lick, lick, BITE!

Same here. There is ZERO chance you make it two days before checking again. Just sayin'.

:p

Perhaps, @Azimuth, but what I can do is just not show you.

Blue Dream auto organic

Lovely plant. Completely untouched start to finish. She has every leaf she’s ever made, even the bottom two three-finger leaves are still green. No clamag, just water, kelp, fish, EWC, and RGR. The only small flaw I can see here is a touch of overwatering (see bent end tip or three), which is now corrected, thanks @Gee64.
She’s so dense I could play ping pong with this cola. This plant is what I used to think was what all autos were like in terms of size when I first began growing them. She’s so cute in her littleness, next to the beastly Strawberry Banana. She’s obviously ahead of the SB and will harvest after the Trizkit. Smells like a summer breeze, full of promise and hope.
