Autoflower Myth Busting Thread

Aye, DSLR but the macro lens isn't an ordinary macro lens......only Canon do one that goes that close.

The first pic I posted there was that lens fully "zoomed" out and the second pic was a crop from as close as it goes. Normal macro lenses only go as close as the first pic.
Very nice. That kind of hardware just isn't in the budget around these parts. Very nice work.

From one 14 inch tall plant, that is quite a success!! How did you make your hash?
:yummy:
Yeah, this plant did well. Her genetics deserves the credit. All I did was give her a chance to be her best.

The hash is just old fashioned water hash. I left the trimmings, and the lower buds in the freezer for a couple days. Then put them in a 220 micron 5gal washing bag (only lets anything under 220 microns through), along with five lbs of ice in the bag. Then put that in a 5gal washing machine with another 5lbs of ice, and filled with cold rocky mountain spring water (sort of). Ran three ten minute cycles. After each cycle, strained through five bags (220mic to 64mic). Interesting texture (not so oily). I like it as a topping in bowls of ground bud. :Namaste:

How did u germ ur NLs and how long till they broke ground? What precent amber were your tricomes at harvest and how long did it take you to get there? Argnc
She sprouted 4 days after being planted. I always plant directly into the pot that the plant will grow in. So, she was placed in a 7gal cloth pot at about 1/2inch into the soil. Kept the soil damp and covered with a wide-mouth, plastic, quart-size jar until she was a few days old. She had a little trouble shedding the seed case, but after that she took off.

I really have no idea as to percentage of amber trikes. I usually harvest a couple days after my first sighting of an amber in my magnify glass. I would make a bad guess at maybe 10% amber

I harvested her at day 73 from putting the seed in the soil.:Namaste:

Awesome thanks for the info man good to know. I did the same thing planted directly in soil. Waiting for the hope hopefully Lil girls to show them selfs. On e more thing might have missed it what light were you running?

I had a 300W GalaxyHydro LED overhead at about 1ft above the plant. Supplemented with four 4W LED bulbs at the four corners of my tent to give the under-canopy some extra light. Added a 25W UVb florescent for reptile terrariums above the main LED to boost the ultraviolet spectrum during flower .. Those LEDs really made it easy to keep a stable temperature in the tent, and the plant seemed to thrive too.

Kushtie , Is that correct 187 days .

Unfortunately it looks like I was about a week out with that guesstimate. Looks more like 180 days now as the WW auto I still have going was one of the five of the blocks on the right in my propagator here - Kushtie - Multiple Strains - 600W HPS & NFT

It's had a tough life that one! ;)

Kushtie , nice shots by the way , i'm a nikon guy .
Be safe .

Cheers bud.....hope I'm not tempting you to join the dark side :) A reversed 50mm f/1.8 and some extension tubes should work pretty well for the same kind of shots. The ease of use of the Canon lens isn't such a big deal when you're in a nice dry grow room and the subject isn't moving.

I actually bought the girlfriend her first DSLR for Christmas. I found a killer deal on a Nikon D3200. Photographer friend said Canon was where it's at, but after finding the deal on the D3200 I read up and it has nothing but kudos. I think the 50mm f/1.8 will be the next lens for her.

Oh, sweet. I just bought a set of those bags and have been freezing my trim as I prune these plants a bit that are about to harvest. I don't have the washing machine - think I have to beat the stuff up with a mixer or something.

How do you dry it so it is smokeable? I'm kind of anxious about trying this - never done it before - and I've put a lot of airy little buds in the trim bag that I would have dried out and smoked, otherwise.

Try some dry ice hash in the future... you'll never go back to the ice water ..... dry ice is so clean and easy

How does one make this?

Ok guys.. After a few weeks of waiting and reshipping the beans r finally here... I'm gonna need lots of help please and b prepared for some stupid questions, lol. Bought A-trains suggested nute plan. Got my 600 watt hps and mh. Smart pots.etc. I have a few beans germing now. Ok first when they germ how long after the seeds break open to wait to plant basically, how long should the "root" be. Also most importantly how deep to plant the germinated seeds? And then after they break the surface let's say if there in there final pot "5gal.". How can I get the tap root established in such a large pot w/o over or under watering? Thanks folks
