Auto Growers Unite: A Community Thread

That's what I was thinking the outcome would be as well, thank you for the insight. Would the extra stretch and smaller buds be the case if you were to do a photo plant from seed on 12/12? Or would It still have good bud growth just a smaller overall plant? All knowledge added to the archive is more than appreciated! .☀️

Very curious to see how that experiment will come out! Another factor I'm curious about testing is if you were to start an auto on 12/12 veg cycle then switch it to 18/6 when it flowers if you would get a shorter plant with incredible dense buds? Or would it set back the overall growth to much to have any beneficial effects??

You're just filled with amazing questions koality. These are more experiments for Bckush to attempt. Lol. I wish I had a lab with dozens of light Chambers and we could figure these out. But for know we'll need to wait for input from others cuz you've got me stumped. Photoperiods can do fairly well under straight 12/12, you'll get a major cola and a few side buds. This is done for S.o.g (sea of green) in smaller grows. You can do 10 plants instead of a few and have only a 10 week turnaround.

We shall see....I have some interesting things planed as time goes....I'm with snid....I wish I had more cabs to use.

What's up snid. This thread was a good idea
Thanks a bunch MI, glad you found the spot. It's a reboot of the old one and I'm hoping it'll be just as informative.

More cabs, more light more everything... Lol. We've got lots of time, so let's see what we can do for the science of autos together. That's what this thread is all about, great stuff Bckush glad to have you leading the charge.

Just add yourself a counter acting brace for the stem. If you continue without it you may end up pulling out the root system. As a fellow plant abuser I know how you feel. They always end up liking you for it in the end...

As do I, getting a couple new cabs, and just had 3 babies come out male so I'll have some space for new .

Sorry to hear you got males friend. I wish you many females in the near future!

Well the auto acids I have that broke soil seems like they are focusing on roots I guess because I dont see much activity above ground. One of them idk whats up with her it seems like she broke soil and just stayed rite at soil level...that was the bean that I had to use h202 on to get her to pop so I might just give her a few days and if she doesn't surprise me with some kind of growth then off with her head

anything that occurs in nature cannot be unnatural!

Hi all! New grower here and I'm encountering my first obstacle with growing a C4 Auto in a DWC setup. My plant is currently on Day 28 from seed and was doing fine until the last couple of days. Two days ago I noticed some of the older leaf tips starting to turn brown on the rim and yellow-ish around the middle of the leaves. Yesterday I noticed that some of the newer leaves are starting to do it and today I noticed the very newest growth is starting to show signs of turning yellow-ish.

Here's a pic of the biggest leaf damage:

Here's a picture of the newest growth showing signs of discoloration. You can't really get a good idea of the color difference in these pics, but under the LED light in the grow tent it's a lot more noticeable. Look very closely at the newest growth and you can see the color difference.

Here are the latest stats from my most current readings:

Strain: C4 Auto feminized
Day of Growth (from seed): 28
Growing medium: DWC 3.5 gallon reservoir with pumice-like grow stones
Water temp: 63.5
pH: 6.1 on 1/15/17, lowered to 5.3 today (1/16/17)
PPM: 662
Humidity: 50%
Ambient temp: 73.5

Nutrients: General Hydroponics Flora Series (Micro, Gro, and Bloom)
Additives: Rapid Start root enhancer, Floraliscious Plus (first used 2 days ago), Armor Si (first used 2 days ago)

On another web site I found some pictures of leaf damage and the corresponding problem and I'm leaning towards a Potassium deficiency. My pH was consistently at or above 6.1 for a full week (since my last water change a week ago) and from what I read, if the pH doesn't get to 5.8 or below at least some of the time, then Potassium is locked out. Am I correct in thinking this?

Assuming I'm correct, I lowered the pH just now to 5.3 to give it lots of time to creep up above 5.8 again. Is this the best way to address the problem or does anyone else have any other suggestions?

I'm open to any and all feedback and thanks for taking the time to read this! Cheers peeps!

:thanks:

I cant remember what light you have but if its led then maybe cal/mag def....Others can help more than I

Yes, bckush - it's an LED light. Sorry forgot to mention that it my post. Mars Hydro Mars600 full spectrum LED. It's about 22" above plant right now.
Have you been using any cal/mag or anything? I hear growers with leds talk about having to add that all the time. I'm sure someone will come along and chime in.

Not entirely sure what I'm looking for... kinda feels like a game of where's Waldo where everyone's Waldo... but only think I could really notice other than training, is it looks like you were trying to merge 2 nugs at a spot? If I'm wrong throw me a hint ..

¥Koality¥

Funny, I was thinking where's waldo when I posted that.

Bud merging.....never thought of that but no, thats not it. Try not to focus on the buds.
