Best way to make auto seeds that you know will be stable is to use silver or something to make a cola produce male flowers and self pollinat another cola. Each seed will be whatever the mother was....ex auto acid fem would produce all auto acid fem beans

Auto Growers you all rock!!!! Thanks for the help I will be back soon to show off my Super Skunk autos that are coming . Pretty sure I will need some help !!! Thanks !!!!! Live-Love-Learn

:loopy::loopy::loopy: Wow......O.K. Everyone, I have seen this so many times and the answers are always the same...However, since i'm new and think differently then most...i.e. I'm not scared to use the fact that i'm a rookie in my first grow and take one for the greater good....do rookie stuff for the sole purpose of doing it. Not to mention :bong::bong::bong:

Wanted to share a picture of Ruth, my C4 Auto, currently on Day 24. Been doing a little lst...

Growth seems to be picking up lately. By the way, are these pistils starting to show? You have to look closely at the new shoots....
:volcano-smiley:
Definitely pistils showing, let quickening begin :thumb: you'll be looking at much faster growth now. Thanks for the pics :Namaste:

Sunshines little sister just popped her little head up.her name is Iris-(Greek) - Goddess of the rainbow and messenger to the Gods. Her name means rainbow in her native language. She is also an auto acid
Beauty! That's a start my friend, and with the helpful people around you're surely going to be getting some buds for enjoyment :thumb:

Sorry I didn't know you asked what I meant by unstable strain. Bckush answered what I was referring to perfectly. When you cross plants there's a little bit of inbreeding (basically) that you have to do for a few generations to make them stable. Im not really sure the procedure but im sure someone could help you but the charts are like this
420-magazine-mobile188198444.jpg
Perfect chart :Namaste: I'm glad you posted this, it's an absolutely perfect representation of what we tried to explain earlier. :thankyou:

Question.......if one of my autos accidentally got left in the flower tent for one night will that change in light schedule mess with her...shes only three days old but it was only one night
This is irrelevant for sprouts. But later on in veg or in flower... One night, not a problem... Let it happen a few times and you'll likely be looking at possibly getting a hermie response from her. In the photoperiod world this is a way to get self pollination. It's called light poisoning.
I have Tiny white little bugs flying around
Get some yellow sticky strips and catch them. Hopefully an infestation isn't underway... Attack attack attack!

I know you can top an auto but can you fim them. Isn't fim supposed to be less stressful to?
This is again doable but not feasible if you want yields. I've FIMd a couple in my early days and the resulting shock basically made some mini mees. I'd put the shock up a level in another magnitude level. Instead of cutting and redirecting auxins from one spot. Your doing it to 5 or 6 spots including half cut leaves and growth tips. It's definitely way more stressful, IMO. I've never seen a growth tip turn pinkish purple from stress with topping like I have from fimming. Again.. That's from my own experiences.

Yes....thats pistals.........looking good :thumb:
Patty was topped but then it grew back which means I didn't clip low enough...thus, I think I actually fimmed
20161226_235152.jpg

this is her topped...or so I thought
this shot was two weeks later...you can see in the middle...the main top is trying to catch back up

Here is a shot of the knot where i cut and it grew back...right where the two pistols are sticking out sideways.
Not a complete loss...I got all the benefits of topping and A brand new top :thumb:

:circle-of-love:
Thanks for sharing that experience with us, always good to see them figure it out and produce like they're supposed to. Great story, and results :thanks:

Cloning an autoflower experiment :high-five: now that's dedication to the cause. Hope she gives you a return, I bet if it takes root it will give you 1/2g bud . We'll be watching for some updates. Thank her for being the new guinea pig...

KiG everyone :green_heart:cheers

If you were to cut a clone from an autoflower plant would the clone be the same age as the mother in terms of making flowers? Or would it start on its own new maturing growth as if it were from seed??

¥Koality¥

It's just going to continue flowering....just really slow I would imagine

I'm curious if I would have taken a cutting from one of the tops before it started flowering what would happen. Sounds like a perfect experiment for the gdp auto I am starting in a week or so. Time for a visit to the torture chamber for more experiments.....going to do an auto on 12/12 when I run out my photo's in a few weeks also.

I love experiments

Hello all :ciao: in a constant quest to improve knowledge and understanding I have a question for the experienced auto growers.

How much light is to much light, In a discussion on another thread it was said that auto's are more sensitive to overlighting than photo's are. I have read that on photo's anything over about 10,000 lumens a sqft is asking for problems...But what about auto's.

Has anyone had adverse effects from to much light on your autos? Was he mistaken to much light for some kind of deficiency...said the leaves folded up like a taco from to much light.

Just wondering what everyone thought :circle-of-love:

Lookin' frosty ., beautiful crop! What kind of setup was she in?

¥Koality¥

She was in a 4x4 tent, with 1000w MH/HPS A/C Predator Hood, 5gal DWC buckets.

Check my journal out in my signature for some more info on the grow...this was the smallest of the 3 I have going.

Whats the wet weight

anything that occurs in nature cannot be unnatural!

Did not get a wet weight yet; was not really planning on it. I am going to weight it out once it has dried in about 5-6 days from now.

I have never done it but from all the articles I've been reading yes it would be

Will sure be wanting to check in on that GDP experiment, if it has results worth while I'll defiantly try it myself!

Is there a big difference in auto plants growth on a 12/12 cycle vs a 18/6 or around there? Mostly wondering if its better to start autos with some photos or wait till cycle can be switched ☀️

¥Koality¥

Thats what I'm looking to find out, I'm going to run a gdp through two weeks of veg at 18/6 take a cutting from a top... pop a bean of caramelicious that i'm running out at 18/6 and run it 12/12 all the way and compare plant structure and yield. That will be the perfect comparison because its the same strain. Then at the end of that grow i'm going to run another gdp with 2 weeks at 12/12 and then finish at 18/6...not a perfect comparison of the gdp's but should be good enough to compare plant's

I've never heard of too much light. You'll need to delve deeper into your research to find your answer. But to be honest, idk. That's a great question, if you do pinpoint an answer please follow up and let us know. :Namaste:

The difference would be under 12/12 you'll get more stretch and smaller buds overall. It also usually triggers flowering earlier on then it's scheduled to as per genetics. The autoflower needs light to keep its engine going, under 12/12 you're losing 6 hours of production time every day. Hope other can elaborate on this, great question koality :thanks:
