Auto Growers Unite: A Community Thread

my heart skipped a few beats i just pinched the stem and it flopped right over full 180 facing the floor now ... damn ... this is scary shit ... oh and the stem splitted not to bad but it did ... i found the stem rather brittle
I've seen folks fix stems with electrical tape. Leave it on for a day, evaluate, then maybe put it on for another day.

i preffer to not touch it to much as thats an openwound for now and an open window for diseases to enter the plant so ill just leave it alone and repeat this mantra "it's a weed - it's a weed - it's a weed" ;)
i gave her a good feed ... temps are 26°C spot on %RH is a bit high the plant puts out a lot of water nowadays 72% but its rainy outside ... yesterday it was below 60% so no worries there

but anyway i realise this isnt my journal so this will be my last "non question" post in this thread .. sry for loitering

If u got an open wound I would tape that up asap. Just because u don't touch it doesn't mean bacteria or mold molecules wont. It may form a knuckle after it's healed but it's better to do that now to reduce stress, further damage or issues to the wound and get that stem growing.

I'm on my first grow and I have a question. Today is week 6 since sprouting and she just started showing pistils. When do I change to my 27k cfls, and when do I change to flower nutes? It's my forst grow, and it's an auto fem Revolver from CKS.

Good point ... i literally gave her a bandaid ;)

wait till the stretch is over and then start with bloom nutes and light
during stretch the plants still need alot of nitrogen ... thats why ...;)

Hi all! 1st time grower, 1st time poster (hope I'm doing this right) looking for y'all's opinions on my "Herbie". She's a 53 day old Auto White Widow, she's in her first week of flowering, all grow she has had light nutes (wanted to see what I could grow before I started adding variables).

Please let me know what you think of her. I know I've learned a lot from her even if I don't get a grand yield from her.

Well, I'm not qualified to give advice, as I'm new as well. But your plant looks good to me. This is a great place to learn, & get answers if/when you need them. Welcome bond, & keep having fun. :thumb::goodjob:

Since my journal isn't generating many responses I thought I'd put this in the autogrow community thread (thanks for starting it Stinky Snid!).

Is there any upside to trimming the lower small shaded buds to direct more growth to the upper ones that will obviously be more productive? How about trimming new shoots at the bottom once the flowering has begun? I know that autos don't like a lot of messing with but once they're in flower do they care what's happening near the bottom?

Hey guys, 6 weeks into my first plant and I'm realizing I did not train this plant properly, or really at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do at this stage to still maybe increase my yield?

I've tied her down twice, you can see one on the right side there. I was trying to do some LST but have no clue what I'm doing. Should've topped but didn't know I could since she's an auto. Anyways, any help is appreciated. Any additional info needed, just ask.

Nice but not enough info.... Lighting period is important.... auto aren't usually into 12/12 or 16/8 some aren't even into 20/4.... play with the lighting in little steps and in all my auto experience the one thing I always say is... An auto will do what she wants when she wants... don't hang on breeders claims it a 70 day plant or a 2lb plant.... just embrace that they are fun...

It what I do on all my plants... cut away big fan leaves and let light to the bud... if a higher up and bigger bud is blocking a smaller bud and I cannot manipulate the bigger bud... the smaller gets culled...

She's on a 16/8 schedule right now, in an organic compost soil mix, she's in her 3ft x 3ft x 6ft tent, I have had a 125W CFL (65K which is putting out 250-300W) on her throughout the grow and just recently added two 150W CFLs (27k) about 5 days ago. I have some more of these Kera Auto WWs and I plan on playing with nutes, light schedules, LST/topping and other variables with them. I don't know the soil pH, or the water pH, or what the ppm of the organic fertilizer (4-4-4) I've used is.

I'm just seeing what I can grow right now with tape water and soil. :) Thanks for the input and advice!

Thanks for that! I'm trying some extreme leaf tucking first as well as a little late LST just to pull some of the lower branches out and into the sun/CFLs (I'm moving them into the lights at night). As the flowering progresses I'll see if it looks unlikely that the smaller buds are worth keeping then I'll take the off and save them for making canna lotion along with the fan leaves, stalk, and stems.

EXTREME leaf tucking!

So here we are on day 68 - Week 10

King Tut is destroyed! She looks good from the top, but damn she is just destroyed! Very bad light burn. I have raised the light even higher to the 22" range and hope we can stop this bull**it!

The lower areas are fine, and the tops are scorched. I was going to flush her today thinking its nutrient burn but after more reading again it keeps pointing to light burn.

The other plant (Cheese) is fine and because she is still vegging and has been for 68 days, she has not been affected by the light...for an autoflower 68 days in veg, thats crazy, and we still have a minimum of 8 weeks of flower whenever she starts, if its a she..who knows!

Here are some photos of the damage, I will be happy if I get something to smoke off this, lesson learned, I am begging her not to die on me. I am happy that Cheese is still in Veg because we can avoid this for when she starts to flower.

I am still thinking I will flush the cheese plant because she is probably gonna enter flower soon I hope, and would be nice to get rid of that salt buildup from the last 50ish days

She looks nice from above...

Our Cheese is just growing and growing...

I dont wanna get excited because the last time I said she was flowering, she never and it was just another set of leaves...but this is a few days since we switched to 12/12 lighting....

....so...is this a pistol in the middle next to the purple pipe cleaner? It looks kinda big for a pistol, maybe that damn thing is just growing more leaves and is laughing at me for cursing at it so much haha

Time for this cat to smoke one and hit the sack!

Smoke em if ya got em!
