Auto Growers Unite: A Community Thread

25 cm or inches? 25 cm is perhaps just slightly way too close :)

I thought of light burn as it is the leaves closer to the top and the inner veins are still green.

Have a little conversation to start up about wet VS dry trimming. Does dry trimming actually preserve more flavor ? And make for better buds or is it just a folk tale. Maybe someone who has done one or the other or even both can give me a little insight

Any outdoor Florida growers here??

There are actually only 5, one of these girls I took two pics of.......so these are 5 day from sprout above soil. I only have confidence in two of them, as three have fallen over twice, but revived or propped up by soil, so I'm not expecting them to make it. These are from an early miss / NYCd auto grow I harvested in mid April. Has anyone ever started an auto in fl summer before?

25 cms actually. Too close? Pulled it to 38cm.

It really all depends on what lights you are using. I'm going to hazard a guess and say LEDS and if this is the case, I would say 25 cms is definitely too close. I have one nominal 450 watt Led (actual draw 255 watts) where the manufacturers recommend a minimum distance of 18 inches (45 cms) and a different 450 watt LED (actual draw 200 Watts) and the recommended minimum is between 12 and 15 inches (30 cms and 38 cms).

Mine draws 240watts. It is my first led. I repositioned it..

As I said, it depends on the lights - diode size, reflectors and respective angles etc.

I think lifting your lights was a very good move. As a new LED user you'll need to play around with different heights and find out what is the optimum for veg and bloom with yours, but just remember one thing with LEDs - higher is often better.

hello everyone ... i am getting a precarious situation with my purple kush auto ... she has been stretching for almost two weeks now and the last weeks she grows a rato of 3 inch per day before it was a week at 2 inch a day ... she is at 41 inch atm and i allready had to angle my light and put the plant in a corner ... if she keeps this up she will hit the ceiling in a few days ... 12 - 16 inches left ...

my question .. can i risk supercropping her in this early flower stage ?? or will that hurt the yield hard ?

I don't know if it will hurt yield. But I was in a similar situation with my first grow. I resorted to super cropping her during a stretch and she didn't seem to mind at all. Got plenty of bud off her. :)

if its caused by the weight then i wont complain ;)

I would have no problem with supercropping, but you could always start introducing some weights, such as fishing weights for example, and gradually introduce more weight until the desired bend is achieved.

Maybe not the weight you would like, but a solution nonetheless.

Can anybody give me a general on how much longer this plant has. I bought a jewelers loupe to inspect the trichomes. And it says harvest when cloudy. Looking through my loupe they all look cloudy to me. But I also read the hairs should be curling and turning amber when thehba close to harvest. And my hairs aren't there yet. Guess I just don't know what to look for. Any help
