Arteekay's Second Grow - Autos & Feminized - Mixed Strains

Jan 22 Update. JH, CR, and NEM are 23 days old. DD is 12 days old. Temp is 72 and RH is 60%.

  • DD got 500ml of of bubbled tap water at 160ppm and 5.7 PH.

Inspired by the quantity of our first two harvested plants from our maiden grow, I decided to take these girls out for a night on the town. Let 'em really get some attention...

DD (6.8 lbs before, 8.4 after) We'd just hit the bar when this incredibly tight little girl started getting all flirty with me:

She knocked back her drink, then shoved her top down my throat. Dark Devil inDeed!

We'd committed to topping them all and who am I to question myself.

CR (23.8 lbs, down from 25 yesterday after transplanting and training) I didn't feel like dragging this hottie off the dance floor, so I just letter getter twerkon right where she was.

Looks like Biz is going to want to adjust her training tomorrow.

NEM (11.4 lbs, down from 12.6 yesterday) This one was a little shy at first, but she came around once I started moving her around, her and her cousin up next both got every limb massaged until it had it's own place to rest:

JH (10.8 lbs, down from 11.6 yesterday) This girl, man I tell ya, she just keeps losing her tops, I've bought her three now and they've all disappeared:

(no real change from yesterday's second topping, Expecting that to take another day or two)

She spread out for a full-body tanning session when we got home. Claimed she just didn't want any tan lines, but she's really just a huge tease:

Finally had to round them all up and stuff 'em back into their beds for the night, despite being up for 23 or 12 days straight they don't seem the least bit tired:

I admit it, I'm in love with these party girls.

(Yup, Trudy is kicking my ass)

Jan 23 Update. JH, CR, and NEM are 24 days old. DD is 13 days old. Temp is 72 and RH is 63%.

Quicker update tonight, have to work (remotely thank god) and really should get on it before midnight local time.

Jaybiz spent some time adjusting CR's training, and I manually adjusted NEM and JH, and tied JH down a bit to keep the angle I wanted.

Nobody got water, we soaked the other two 5 gallon pots on day 14, which was too early and they were at least a couple more days bigger than DD is tonight. I'll probably give her a full liter tomorrow and make her wait three or four, then soak. All plans are firm until the moment I hit submit reply here. :)

JH (9.6 lbs, down from 10.8 yesterday):

NEM (10.4 lbs, down from 11.4 yesterday):

Looks good, when I topped I sealed the cut with wood glue, that might have been a mistake. I do not see new growth just a chopped stem. :-(

How long has it been? My topping have always (Man, I say always like I've got more than three months and one and a quarter grows as experience) taken at least two days to recover and show new growth. The top itself should just seal, it's the growth points just below where the top was that become the new tops and it's important to try and not disturb them. I'm sure you knew this I'm just typing it out in case others stumble across this later that might not.

Anyway, I wonder if the wood glue may have been diluted into the plant and distributed like a nutrient might, rather than staying on the tip and sealing it. Just a random #stonedmormon thought.

Wood glue is perfect for plant repair. I'm thinking that air is needed to spur growth and I sealed it.

rtk, do you find topping that low to be more productive for you than a little higher?

Stick around for a couple weeks and we'll find out together! :)

After we saw what happened with Britney, our first Early Miss just now getting into full flower in my other grow journal, we committed to training hard next time and seeing what happens.

I figured that if we were going to top, we'd do it as early as we can. The second topping on JH was just straight up for the hell of it. She's been the most vigorous since germination and is a taller, longer strain than we've grown before so I wanted to get her under control quickly and try hard to keep her short and bushy. We're not going for maximizing absolute yield as a primary factor anymore.

Maybe we should have kept one untopped, but it won't be a great comparison to our first grow anyway. We screwed up the watering early and for the first four or five weeks of their life, and kept them on a cold cement floor for a good portion of that. I'm expecting better results all around this time.

Mmmmm... couch lockkkk

Those indica females look nice :thumb:

No problem Vlad, we have a strict no screwin' around with a nap rule around here, it's a capital offense.

Love seeing crop king grows, they have been nothing but greats to me! I'd recommend them to anyone

Can not, and will not disagree. My first grow journal won second place in their recent "best grow journal" contest, but I was a huge fan well before that. I picked a pack of feminized Purple Kush photoperiod and Amnesia Haze auto for the prize, and they even threw in a little pocket grinder. They'll get popped for a third grow we're currently thinking.

Love those folks!

Seriously man? You honor me! Brit is a real trouper, a testament to this plant's incredible resilience! She's only got a couple more weeks until she completes her journey through life and despite my attempt to decapitate her she's turned out incredible.

Can't say I wasn't happy to get one of the small 1.5g air pots out of the cycle. Daily feedings by the end with the Revolver, and I've serious concerns that Brit may need more than one a day once she gets heavy into building calyxes.

Nice looking girls! I'm subbed! :thumb:

Welcome Tarheel. So far so good, they are at the point that continuous overwatering of the girls in our first grow really started to impact them. It's so incredible to see the difference. If I get bored tomorrow I might post some comparisons.

Jan 24 Update. JH, CR, and NEM are 25 days old. DD is 14 days old. Temp is 73 and RH is 61% at the canopy, 71 and 68% at the top.

  • DD got around 800ml of bubbled tap water at 160ppm and 5.8 PH.

CR seems to have slowed down since transplant the other day. Not worried though as she's our first photoperiod. Jaybiz can veg her for as long as he wants for all I care. :)

DD is still recovering from her topping. I've been doing some late nights with them and thought it'd been three days now, but it's only two. She's doing fine, although I'm not sure I really should have topped her. Ah well, she'll still be purple in a few weeks and I'll love her no matter what! I've learned just about anything can happen.

JH and NEM could have been watered today, only have a little more than a liter of water weight each. If it's tomorrow or the next day, it'll be their first feeding of grow nutes at 1/4 or 1/2 strength. The first grow's girls took the nutes without any issues, so I won't be particularly conservative with them this time and re-evaluate if necessary.

DD (7.2 lbs, down from 8.6 yesterday, and 9.2 after watering today):

CR (22.1 lbs, down from 22.6 yesterday) Not using very much water day over day, erg:

NEM (9.4 lbs, down from 10.4 yesterday) Same manual training just with gently increasing bending and twisting, branch and fan leaf arraingment:

JH (8.6 lbs, down from 9.6 yesterday) Same training as NEM:
