Arteekay's Second Grow - Autos & Feminized - Mixed Strains

Hoping you'll still keep PK in rotation for LST at the very least. I found Northern Lights Auto and CBDream to be really pliable. Perhaps you could experiment on those in the distant future. :thumb:

We'll do another Purple kush or two for sure. It's the most requested strain we get asked about. Even though our first didn't produce anywhere near what we hoped, it's still a pretty powerful stinker and smokes just fine. I just wish we had more of her.

Ah well, next one. We plan to finally get our other Mars II 900 fixed finally and add that to the photo tent, should boost things up from the current spider 4x and a big ass cfl.

We have our third Crop King Seeds Northern Lights auto sprouted. Our first two were in our first grow and journal and were part of the original six we germinated on Halloweed (at first a typo, then decided to keep it) of last year. We froze their feet on a concrete floor and did no topping or training.

So we're really looking forward to growing another one now that we have a style to aspire to. She's the only strain from that grow that we haven't done now that we have something of a clue of what we're doing.

Here's our first two:

"Trudy" (first known as "pale girl", renamed by our lord and saviour ShiggityFlip after our new Canadian Prime Minister, while he promising to legalize weed and before he went on his 25th or so vacation).

She was our second ever Cannabis plant we harvested.

and "Tall NL", who wasn't really tall but just taller than our other NL above.

MAN is it wild to look back at those plants now. We've come pretty far from those days I feel.

I had a good laugh about the name change and PM, there is always a good story or two behind every grow. I believe that your plants got bigger with your continued experience. You even have more office supplies in the picture room...lol. I see how the NLA is a favourite especially since she grows so fast. Now, did you take any pics of your last PK that underproduced for you? Just wondering if you got any of the purple leaves in the flowering. On the internet, I read that PK's should not have any Nitrogen nutes in their last 4 weeks, and since everything on the internet is true...uhhum NAWT!...what is your experience, do you change your formula's or process in any way to cater to PK's? Sorry for all the questions but you're a valuable source of information...cough cough - secrets...lol. Many Thank you's in advance.
:thanks:

Things are looking awesome as usual my friend. We are thinking of cloning our Purple Kush photoperiod just because we got our butts kicked trying to get those seeds to pop.

Keep up the fantastic job on your ladies and of course, Blessed Buds to you

I hear you on the germination issues, we lost a good 10% of our success rate in the last month. Our PK wasn't really worth taking a clone from, but I'll never discourage someone else from grabbing a few off theirs.

We haven't started cloning yet, but it's an imminent project for sure.

Ah Trudy, I remember her very well! But now, that lemon skunk is stealing my heart. What a beautiful specimen she is. You are a training prodigy. :bravo:

We actually just smoked our last bit of Trudy last week, having held onto a couple of her nugs far longer than is now typical for us. She was good enough to inspire us to plant another Northern Lights auto.

I'm really liking how this Lemon Skunk is turning out. Normally I'd have liked to stretch her out a little wider, but that freaking Quarter Pounder is taking up half the damned tent.

We'll be turning down the training for our next two photos. They'll be a tiny little SoG instead of our usual single plant SCRoG. We're even considering not topping our POW and taking a couple clones from her mid veg. We'll get onto this "real" weed thing eventually. :)

Wow! That early miss looks so good! It's one of my favorite flavors! So happy for you! :passitleft:

She's proving a little challenging to dry well, just so thick. But we'll let her take her time and get some "final" numbers later this week. She's our third Early Miss, and our first two were crowd favorites.

:yahoo:

Our leaves stayed pretty much green, or at least we thought so. We burned her pretty bad so by the time she was well into flowering, it was hard to tell what color the leaves might have been. The buds were deep purple though, we'll take it.

Here's her life story if you missed it. She's the only PK we've grown, and we're nowhere near experienced enough to offer much in the way of advice with photos. Let's both see how Arctic Bowl makes out with his.

We're pretty comfortable with autos now, but we're just starting to break into photos.

I got caught with a work issue that distracted me, and I hit post before I'd finished editing.

Jaybiz really liked Trudy, used her as a before bed smoke for weeks. I really can't remember anything specific about the other NL, we smoked her down to nothing long ago. I'm really looking forward to seeing how we make out with this one, but she's off to a slow start. You can see in today's pics how far behind she is compared to our second Red Poison, who is only a day older. I'm hoping she'll catch and take off. Crossing fingers.

The reduction in nitrogen I believe to be true, it's why no matter what nute line you get there will be different grow and bloom nutes.

Fair enough, thanks for your time.

No ma'am, thank you for taking the time to follow and read my journal. :adore:

That damned QP, with the gall to take up half the freakin' tent!!! :laughtwo: First world concerns, eh? Almost time for the TW to come down, isn't it? I'm excited to hear how it smokes.

Question: Of all the strains you've grown so far, which one do you believe had the best trichome development? I'm looking for autos with high THC and copious amounts of oil. You've grown a fair number of autos in the past year, making you an excellent friend to ask. :battingeyelashes:

Last update shows your game is solid. I did see what you mentioned over in my place and I fight that fight all the time. As soon as you think your dialed, nope. Great pull those buds are huge.

Cheers

She's got 16 days left by the breeder's schedule. I'd say as usual we'll be pretty close to right on. Pistils are still pretty plump. She got moved into the other tent tonight with the photos to finish under CFL. We want to give our second Lemon Skunk and first Quarter Pounder all the room they need to finish well and good.

Besides the Canuk Seeds Lemon Skunk auto and the Dark Devil you already know about, Crop King Seeds Early Miss is a big favorite and add the Sweet Seeds Red Poison that hooked Pigeons.

I really want to expand out into other autos than just the two breeders we've worked with so far. Recommendations? We've got a good assortment of photos still to try, but our auto selection is starting to feel a bit narrow.

Lol come on RTK don't keep us in suspense, what's the best one lol.

p.s. Sue, your awesome and we send our love and good vibes your way.

Canuk Seeds Lemon Skunk without question, but we look forward to going better when our existing stock, and trying out some new breeders as well.

If it was always perfect, it'd be boring as hell. :high-five:

August 9 (Tuesday) Update.

Autos: Train Wreck is 60, Quarter Pounder is 48, our second Lemon Skunk is 33 days, our second Red Poison is 9, and finally our third Northern Lights 8 days old. They are on an 20/4 schedule and are 13-21 inches from their lights.

Photos: POW 33 and White Widow are both 13 days old today.

I stretched our second Lemon Skunk out a little more, and of course that threw off the game of tetris I've been winning up until now.

Wasn't at all happy with that, so I went down later to try again, sorry for the pink:

Man, love that first POW shot. Looks like about 470nm, blue, awesome. That portable SOG raised corn cobbs. Lots going on and it all looks good.

It's closer to how it looks to us, no flash on that one and just the light spill from the tent. Wasn't sure if I'd include that pic, so I'm glad I did.

It took me a minute to figure out what you meant about the corn cobs, but once I got it it gave me a good LOL. I'm shocked with how that Train Wreck is doing.

August 10 (Wednesday) Update.

Autos: Train Wreck is 61, Quarter Pounder is 49, our second Lemon Skunk is 34 days, our second Red Poison is 10, and finally our third Northern Lights 9 days old. They are on an 20/4 schedule and are 15-21 inches from their lights.

Photos: POW 33 and White Widow are both 14 days old today.

Another pretty easy day. Jaybiz transplanted our first CKS White Widow into her final 5 gallon pot and watered her in with 2 liters, and the two youngest autos both got a partial watering of 2 liters.

We moved our first Train Wreck into the photo tent just to make room for our first Quarter pounder and second Lemon Skunk. She's got 16 days left by Crop King's schedule, and I think we'll hit pretty close to that.

Our first Amnesia Haze has recovered as much as she's going to from her incredible hunger. Her color has improved significantly and she's spent the week fattening up. We'll switch her back to bloom nutes on her next watering. I think she's got enough green back in her to finish well.

I can definitely see your training expertise just by looking at your group shots. You guys really have your training down. Very impressive. I'm too lazy to do that so I just throw a big net on top of mine and hope for the best.

Always a pleasure coming through here guys!

Cheers

RoorRip

Always a pleasure to have ya stop by.

I love training, except when I forget to leave myself room to actually water them. Then it's a big pain in the ass for weeks on end. :)

August 11 (Thursday) Update.

Autos: Train Wreck is 62, Quarter Pounder is 50, our second Lemon Skunk is 35 days, our second Red Poison is 11, and finally our third Northern Lights 10 days old. They are on an 20/4 schedule and are 15-21 inches from their lights.

Photos: POW 33 and White Widow are both 14 days old today.

Temps remain 82-85 during lights on, down to 69 during their night. Humidity is 50%

The three old girls all needed watering tonight. I gave our first Quarter Pounder one more half dose of veg nutes along with half bloom, just trying to get a little extra N into her before committing. Our second Lemon Skunk remains on grow nutes for another couple of days, and our first Train Wreck got likely her last feeding before we start planning her finish. 15 days left in her schedule.

Our newest Mars II 900 (new model with the switches) has developed a slight buzz in one fan, so I took a quick look at that but didn't manage to pinpoint the cause. I'm hoping it's just one of the wiring connectors rattling, but if it gets worse I'll dig deeper.
