Any2's Vertical 2k Double Donut w/ High Brix - First Indoor Grow

That clawed one looks like my Tangerine Dream did, only it wasn't flowering yet.

How often are they getting Stress?

And any chance the drench concentrations are too high? (I know - like asking if it's plugged in).

And the last thought is excess water in the bottom. They're big pots with small plants ...

[Edit] Yeah, whatever I'm growin' ain' no Wild Thailand.

They will get stress this week as this symptom just showed up. Also I noticed a little leaf twisting in the middle zone of the Grandberry. I have not given them any stress except for one time and at 1/2 strength shortly after transplant. As far as the drench concentrations I mix em up exactly per instructions, .50 oz of whatever with 2ml of tea in a gallon then dispersed into 6 gallons and they get 1 gal every week with some light quenchings when needed. Excess water......hmmmm I keep them on the dry side if anything but I suppose it is possible. But yea lol as bad as I messed them up I think it will still be excellant. Yield is low and have no idea where it will come in at but they are stinking and more every day. My wife always jokes "you have had your fingers in those Thai girls again haven't you". Smell just doesn't wash off that easy lol. Anyway I have pondered 1/2 strength drench concentrations every now and then. Anyway back to the clawing it is only on the blue dreams at the moment and it is slight so I am not gonna trip to hard on it for now. Thanks for your thoughts.

Peace,

Any2

I think you went wrong not using the Stress foliar. In first run soil, you really need to give 'em a shot once a week at least. And I haven't done 2 cat drenches yet, so I'm a bit leery of it. It burned the hell out of my plants in mineralized soil. The first JDs I ran didn't get cat drench at all.

You should give it a try - spray 'em every couple days this week and see what happens. My Tangerine Dream startled the crap outta me. It's a different plant now. Give the Blue Dreams some, too.

Stress is for Plant Stress. If you look at your plants and they seem unhappy or stressed....spray them with 1oz/qt Stress.

1/2 strength is for clones. Full strength is for plants. Spray them. That's what it's for.

Yipper.....they just started with some of the unhappy look on a few and before that they looked super so as long as they were thriving I did not give them any stress at all. The one time I gave them 1/2 strength they were looking great even after transplant so I gave them an obligatory dose of some extra I had from the clones. I just remember you saying if they look good and healthy forego the stress so that is what I did. So Doc should we at the very least give them a once a week stress foliar even tho they are thriving as Graytail suggested on first run soil? Does anyone ever skip the stress foliar?

On runs 2 and 3 I spray stress less often....maybe every 2 weeks at times. But on first run soil, they like it once a week.

It has PGR's in it, (natural ones) and all kinds of trace minerals and microbes. Use it weekly, like Brix, unless the plants are stressed out---use it twice or more then----or if the plants are PERFECT, skip it. (Green petioles, perfect, shiny leaves, lime green stems, etc.)

However, you'll be just fine, judging by the looks of your plants.

I still can't believe this is your first grow! You're killing it!

very nice High Brix setup ANY2!!

+rep for the learning curve and great recoveries here.

im sub'd for the journey and will b following along with you.:high-five::yummy:

im waiting on my soil to finish cooking same day as your next cook should be done too...on 12/23/13!

So we are at 59 days@12/12 with the Wild Thai and heading into week 9. They just got their last energy dose yesterday and water til they finish out. Recieved brix yesterday as well. Smells wonderful and packing on the resin. Would have liked to have them veg taller next go around as they did not get as tall as I thought. Basically 3 ft to the top of the cage and want to end up with a 4ft + size so they go through the netting at the top. Put these girls through hell and back so the look and yield is not all there but I think it will be great smoke nonetheless. Gotta make mistakes to learn and I am hoping the next set of Thai girls will be awesome.

Those girls look pretty awesome to me, Any2!

Big honkin' plump buds ...

Nice!

+reps

[Edit] Do you have a refractometer yet? What is brix on those girls?

Lol......no don't have one yet!!!
on the santa list!!!!!!

Thai girls are finishing up and Friday will mark 70 days. See a few amber trichs but they are good and ready. Harvest will be this Saturday. They are dense, sticky and frosty and smell insane! I have another set of 6 that I am going to veg a lot longer in their 7 gal pots this next go around to get some more size. While I had many set backs I am happy to get some dialage in on the environment during this 1st round and I look forward to the next rounds. 2nd donut of the "fab 5" are doing fine and just finished their 2nd cat drench and I will post some pics of those as well.

This indoor stuff is fun but it is not as easy as one would think and I applaude all you guys and gals that grow healty beautiful plants! Some pics.

(now if I could just figure what mine is ... sure ain' what you grew ...)

Great grow especially for a first. Looks like the vertical worked out pretty well :)

My Wild Thai from Landrace is only about 4 weeks into flower so far. Not sure how well this strain yields. Ill def be interested in hearing your final weights.

Here's a few pics of mine if you don't mind. Figure it's a great comparison for high brix. Mine is in pro mix only with very little FF trio nutes. A trellis is a necessity lol. I figure I'll have to tie quite a few branches on her.

Don't mind at all!!! I am not sure if the wild thai strain is a heavy yielder or not and I am not going to gauge that on this grow since many things went wrong. Doc was helping me play nurse a lot especially in the beginning. Knowing what I know now and looking back on this grow I made some horrific errors right from the start. I think the biggest one was starting 12/12 in the 1 gal pots from a cozy T5 environment and into the 1k fire, transplanting them 6 days later into the 7 gal smarts. I believe the root system just did'nt grab and caused a lot of stress very early on. Also 2 days after putting them in 12/12 they wilted into shock being in small pots. Now then lets add an environment that was highly unstable, too hot at it's peak and some huge temp swings on top of everything else.

But all in all learned some very valuable lessons. I was laughing at myself after also being ignorant to the effects of drastically changing photo periods from veg to flower. Which caused some mutant leaf patterns and I laughed even harder when I made clones from the batch that you see now 6 days being in 12/12 start with single and double leaf patterns from the photo period trauma I put their moms in. So yea a few of the new set of thai's still bare the retarded leaves lol but are doing amazingly well now. So I am going to do another round of them hopefully with some justice this time around ha ha.

Going to veg them in their 7 gal pots and bet them much bigger this next time to. Get them as big as I can under the T5s then let all twelve of them veg a bit under HPS before going into 12/12. Also....I have been thinking about the GLR method and tossing around that idea.

So yea having a lot of fun with it and I plan on growing out this 2nd donut with the 2 Blue Dreams, 2 Blueberry and the Grandberry while cooking soil and vegging the next set of 12. (6) Wild Thai's, (3) GDPs and (3) Grandberry.

So with all those F ups looks like I am still gonna have some awesome smoke thanks to Doc and all my fellow brixsters!!!!

Peace,

Any2
