Amy Gardner Of Eden: Perpetually Organic

Sour Bubba - The One That Doesn’t Smell
So sparkly and yet so anosmiatic! Must be something in the air since neither of my Golden Tigers smelled much.
Update: Panama - day 71(+31) plus some newbies
That Panama is quite a looker. Looks solid and the natural structure is easy on the eyes. Or it's just your photographic skillz again!
I think with a fish foliar ‘misting’ that it maybe didn’t really need.
I think fish foliar misting in a tent in a bedroom is something no one needs unless you miss your spouse who is out at sea.

Nice new babies too! :thumb:

Mini Update: Mini Veg & Propagation Box
:smokin2:

I’m moving up in the world! It’s a skeleton at present but a functional one. Cladding etc. Is coming later.

I have new buddy to build things with/for me. The partner of a good friend who has found my oils to be “an absolute godsend” and who will now help me build whatever I need  . ANd we understand each other well so it’s a godsend for me too! Honestly I can just hand this guy some joints of timber, some tools some hardware with a few measurements and a few words of ‘what’s the purpose’ and he knows just what I’m getting at! It’s a delight.

A good example is this one - when he was about to frame up the top and bottom sections - I remembered the corner jig I made when I was teaching myself woodworking so I went and got it plus 2 clamps and all I had to do was hand them to him, he looked at them briefly and then smiled and said - “excellent!”

I was stoked to be able to walk away and leave him to it.

Here’s the groovy little jig in action - nothing more than a corner piece w strategic clamp holes. I am chuffed too because he said it is very ”true”.

Ready for uprights...

I didn’t get a pic of the bare skeleton of the completed frame outside but it looked very funky!

Here we are inside with the light hung - we’ll raise that a bit higher. I may use just a single carabina at each hook. The eye-hooks go all the way through and bolt on top of the box - the nuts will be countersunk in to make the top a flat surface.

Here below, the CBD#1 and SB clones/cuttings have just landed in their new rooms. (The bracing pieces at teh corners are temporary - they’ll come off once the ply cladding goes on ;) )

B3ED34EC-7830-4FA1-93B4-5CC4BE4D9E45.jpeg

Outside dimensions of the box frame are 600mm x 420mm (I was gonna make it 450 for a clean 2’ x 1.5’ but 450 left me with very little desk space in front so... 420 of course!)

So it’s small, but that’s deliberate. I don’t want to be getting ahead of myself and end up with more to do than I can manage. I am kind of doing that all the time already so I have to actively restrict myself all the time!

I’ll use this to veg the upcoming CBD plants properly for about 5 weeks I hope - although CBD#1 might go into the flower tent earlier than that. And I’ll use it to keep on with my attempts at making clones (more on that in minute!) and I will use it to start plants for the veggie garden outside.

It’s all a reaheasal for having a larger veg and propagation space down the track. There’s some building mods happening here in the next year to do with wheelchair access etc. for me and that will include a propagation/veg area that I can access easily.

Anyway, I digress. Clones!

It’s very amusing to me that the only time I’ve tried making clones without without trying, it’s worked well!

I didn’t bother trying to get the humidity anywhere for these. They were in glasses on the window sill for weeks and some went into a tiny bit of soil and hung out in the same location, with a table lamp in their vicinity after sundown. Then they moved to the little temporary space near the LED/CFL that I germinated the CBD#1 under

I planted one with plenty roots last week you will remember... well, it’s already growing! And one that I put straight in soil has also taken I think, it’s growing too (it’s the one at the top). The ones still in water are now showing roots and should be planted.

It’s also amusing that my first successful clones are of a pheno that has no smell! I’m not sure I’ll be keeping it but I”m very happy to have the success. I may try to get them all going and give them away to a couple of folks I know who may be happy to flower them out for some bonus buds.

Oh - the light! The light in my new growbox is the Viparspectra P1500 that I won here at 420 :green_heart: in the Feb photo comp. I am super grateful to the site and to Viparspectra. I cant; really showcase it now becasue I think they are no longer a sponsor here, but I’m very grateful that they were!

It can dim all the way down to 8w from the wall and as high as 150w from the wall, so it’s really versatile. I have it at 4ow at the moment and will slowly increase that to 50-60watts. That seems like it’ll be a sweet spot for it in the space.

Ill be dropping the Candida CD-1 seed in the next day or so... as the ew moon moves in to Scorpio on Monday-Tuesday and that’s one of my favo(u)rite moon times to plant! :slide: I’m looking forward to germinating it in the new box!

Only issue is that I can’t get the heat up... and the P1500 runs really cool so it;s no help! I’m t8inking about a lizard enclosure rock, just for a few degrees. I dont want a heat mat under it all the time as I dont want to cook the roots, and they’re not cold anyway. It stays 20-21ºC (18ºC very occasionally at night) - I just can’t get the canopy temp much above 23ºC and things will be slow at that temp...

It feels a big step and one I’m very happy to be making! Seperate spaces means I am officially perpetually set up :thumb: Graduation day :D :nerd-with-glasses:

Hope y’all are having a really good day/night/afternoon/evening... I’m cruising into a nice DDA kissed Saturday morning... times are feeling pretty good here in Eden right now...

Wow, congratulations Amy! The new setup looks great. Congrats on the successful clones too!

I love that you've found someone to help you out. It's so special to be able to have an ongoing exchange with someone that is meaningful and that does not involve money.

Thanks my dudes! I got the heat u0p a little in the new grow box. It helped that I did a recheck of the watts the next day and found that the dimmer must have been knocked and the light was drawing all of 22watts from the wall  Only 24hrs luckily! It’s up at about 50watts since then and that gets me a couple of ºC. And...
just have to make your bedroom a little warmer:thedoubletake:
This ^^^ is working just fine :D

The subject of CBN has come up a bit, in passing, in different places recently So I dug out this little snippet of Samantha Miller‘s 2minutes on the subject (@Virgin Ground @InTheShed @Heavenly Hybrid

She mentions the UV factor outside. And also that thing I always forget: THC+Myrcene is as effective as CBN for sedation.

Interesting what she says about the biphasic nature of CBN too (higher doses guiding opposite effects), I knew this is the case for the other cannabinoids so I guess it makes sense that CBN is no different. It tells us we only need a little CBN :) Thankfully I suppose that would be easy so long as you take one hit and wait... hopefully you’re out like a light before you take too much!

Myrcene is one of the most common terpenes and I’d wager nearly every indica has it! The smell of mango can indicate Myrcene content. Guess it will depend then on other terpenes in the mix. If I think of a bud that smells of lavender and mango... My canna-senses can feel how that would be sleep-inducing. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Speaking of aromas... little update footnote that the Sour Bubba has finally started to give some! I can definitely detect petrol/fuel - not super strong but very distinct. And yesterday I got the lovely other to check it and she said “ooh! I like that :D ...coffee!”. So there we have it: coffee and petrol LOL!

Exactly what you’d expect from East Coast Sour Diesel x Pre ‘98 Bubba Kush :thumb:

I think my Sour Diesel smells like a musky coffee. :battingeyelashes:

Hi Amy. :hugs:
