I just learned that the jumping spider that was your winning picture, has better eye sight than us and it can also see in the ultraviolet range.:Namaste:
:eek::eek::eek: I love this! Thanks :D
Wouldn’t you love to know what it sees!? It was looking at me while I was photographing it that’s for sure! I love the photo from behind where you can see 2 eyes and it just looks front on. Such a gorgeous little thing it was. Haven’t seen it since. Either still in my room somewhere, or ranging elsewhere in the veggie patch :)

It’s reaching that stage of the journal where I can’t remember who I’ve welcomed or not... so if I miss you or welcome you twice ... well, that’s how it goes . It’s hard to keep up - maybe a perpetual journal would save me the process at the beginning of every grow cycle :hmmmm:

:passitleft:
Hiya Eden Gardener,

Great journal, lots of pictures, marsupials, even some beautiful chard. Your ladies look great. I love that you set up an outdoor living space. Good for you. Cheers

Thankyou Bode :hugs: I’m happy to have you in the garden again. :welcome:I always appreciate your gentle and encouraging presence.

smidge late, but all caught up now!

I’m slow so you’re never late here! Glad to have you BeezLuiz - always happy to have another outdoor grower in the garden. Next year I might start a bit earlier with the trained plants. I’m already thinking ahead to next time! Better get these ones through first...

:welcome:Luiz :passitleft:

I’m here! Late but with snacks:)

:cheer: Garden party started :smokin2:

:welcome:Sis - stoked to have you along :surf:

A few things...

Oooh they look so goooood. Look e’ryone! Newty brought goodies

It’s a newty bhangbhang party in the garden of Eden:battingeyelashes:
You have so many!! Great job Amy:)

Do I? :hmmmm: Maybe I just have many pics of them  ... and there’s been too much management so it certainly feels like a lot :)
I only have 3 photoperiods... and a few autos which you haven’t seen yet ;)
the most beautiful faded colours.

I saw! Those colours are spectacular! I had no idea Candida did that.

too many spiders! #eeeek
Haha! You don’t encounter them S much as I make it seem perhaps - but I do love them and love photographing them, so you’ll get a high spider quotient impression! These ones hav been tiny, too. Wait till I get up the courage to snap some of our huntsmen spiders - they can get huge!

But all the lizards and dragons that live here eat them too, so when you come to visit, you’ll be well protected ;)

I want to build a buzz from lego treats, :thumb:  Legos  :Namaste:
To infinity and beyond....?

:Sneaks in the back door: :passitleft:
:welcome: Van Stank man! Our back door is our front door so there’s no sneaking in round here! :D I’ll see you coming and put the kettle on...

NewtyBhang?...

I was curious about the fuzzy white caterpillars :high-five:
Hmm - I remember posting a fuzzy white caterpillar last year. Do you know I actually ended up seeing the moth they turn into - but I found out so long after the fact it was long past the moment to share it. Maybe this year we’ll get lucky and I’ll get to capture them both again.
Awesome journal Amy! Really looking forward to seeing how WW turns out. I grew WW a few years back, and loved it!

*drags in a chair*

Hey welcome L’intel! :welcome:

Yet another outdoor grower! :high-five:

We are very lucky to have weather that lets us grow outside a lot :)

I’m looking forward to seeing it flower out that’s for sure. Glad to her you loved it, I suspect I will too. And hopefully my friends will also. I do so like to make care packages :)

Here, this Blue Dream is pretty nice too, I recommend ...

Hi Amy. I can feel the sun from here and it sure is nice. You have a beautiful garden this summer. Nice job fighting the bugs!
Hi there otter! :welcome: And thanks for coming by. Happy to have you on the team :high-five:

Mini Update: White Widow

Showed calcium def spots almost overnight as soon as I went offline!

It’s due for a Growth Ionic Drench and also needs transplanting soon. At first I thought  “up pot it instantly!” But, then I thought, it isn’t drinking every day yet, and hasn’t had a GI Drench yet either ... so maybe let it dry out - which should be today, give the soil a lovely GE Drench and then transplant Thursday with a lovely new moon in Pisces...

Oh and yesterday I trimmed off the two lowest nodes.

Here’s the spots that appeared - still only on lower leaves mostly.

New growth tips are still looking great ...

So that was Saturday (Friday for you Americans & Canadians)

- Yesterday I took off the lower nodes.

- Today I will give a Growth Ionic Drench (a hearty one).

- And Thursday (2-3 days time) it’s into the big 13gal pot.

FYI for those who don’t know: My soil mix had to be improvised a little (because PromixHP isn’t avail here, nor Sunshine#4) - then Doc and I agreed that maybe we’d not added enough calcitic limestone powder to the pure peat moss i was using. These little pots had that first round of soil I think, I’ll need to check my dates. But I’m hoping that’s all it is, combined with WW perhaps being slightly calcium hungry. I’m sure the Growth Drench will help and once up potted it will be into the mix that we re-ammended with a bit more limestone powder so should be fine (better at least).

Better get on and catch up on some other gardens!

Im joking about the white pipe cleaner caterpillars :green_heart:

You're on a roll :).

That critter is so funky it's even schlepping got organic garbage around in its fur!

WW tops look lovely if I do say so myself.
I think you can :battingeyelashes:

They turn into quite a delicate moth - I’m hoping I’ll come across another on a camera day (I deleted the old iPhone shot after I sent my ID enquire to the museum).

@Van Stank hey - this is some dope seeds genetics being grown out by Teddy E - and more a little further into the thread. It’s not their WW but it’ll show the vigour of their strains. :)

I’m a big fan of what Dope Seeds are doing. And their stuff seems really great so far - a great site sponsor too :thumb:

 Got me too Oldbear.

Amy, love the spider shots. :high-five: The energy crackles around me when I’m finding shots like that. I imagine it’s the same for you. :battingeyelashes:

Running a perpetual saves you from greeting everyone at the door like you do with a new start, but on one hand, isn’t this the sweetest fun? On the other, I speak from experience when I say that it terrifies new members to come across a journal into the hundreds of pages. Four years in and I’m still working for the balance.

You have particular concerns of energy conservation, and we all understand that. I don’t see anyone choosing to feel snubbed if they didn’t get the kiss on the cheek on Day one. We’re just so thrilled to be able to stop and visit and listen to you go on about plants we wish we were growing we’ll take any time we can get. :hugs:

Looking great!!

 It’s been discussed! I’ve been known to wake the other at 4am to come out and “deal” with one for me! They can get very active, chasing moths and whatnot all over the ceiling. It’s amazing to watch unless it’s happening in your bedroom

There’s a funny car commercial atm (I’m watching lots of sport - so, TV) where a huntsman in your car is reason enough to go buy a new one

Dreaming of spiders is evoking themes around fate... I’ve heard tell... :Namaste:

Mmmm LEGO gummy treats...
Present! Only four pages late. :ciao:

Can’t wait to see how you and the Sun team up on these! :high-five:

I’ll come check it out nivek :thumb: I was a creative professional al my life before I had to stop working - a fairly successful one. It’s a challenge to find an outlet that’s sustainable now, but on the days I can lift my camera, it’s never far away :)
Thanks for the input Amy, I appreciate it. I will have to give them a look. Gotta love the good sponsors!
