Update: Blue Dream - Day 80 (+2)
It’s been a busy week. I decided to save my hands the trouble of this particular DIY (even tho I have most of the parts) and purchased a cheap extraction filter on the bay. It’ll work fine for my purposes
So, there I was, wondering who I might rope in to help me hang and attach it and lo’! My usual garden helper (nephew) called me to see about a visit. How perfect
. He is always happy to help and picked up the conduit on his way through town.
During the last (and final) tent upgrade we rehung the light from 4 seperate points, which means it’s easy to drop it flat against one wall and access the ceiling.
Then it was fairly simple and we managed to get it pretty close to the top. My air extraction is now light tight as well
He went home with some Professor Chaos (which he loves) and some CBD Critical Cure... plus we‘ve had a few educational convos lately about auto flowering plants, and how I think they might suit him at the moment. He has to grow stealthy, in the bush, and we can have wet and humid end-of-season weather here too, so many folks get hit by mold. He was keen to try some and have things finish while the weather is still warm and dry... not to mention a bit of a quicker run is good for stealth purposes. So he also went home a very happy man with these.
Then, the day after, I made the intake light tight using the rest of the conduit.
The whole thing has tightened up the airflow (sucking in the tent a little bit) which is great but also means it’s not clearing the humidity as well as before (plus our weather has turned humid), so today I’ll buy some more conduit and add another intake at the other side.
So, the tent fine-tuning is nearly done. It’s light-tight now & I flipped the light schedule on Sunday with the dark moon.
Beautiful Blue had already started to open up a little bit, finally, and has done so more since the flip.
On Sunday evening I was inspecting, and saw something suspicious on a couple of leaves so I plucked them off. The loupe revealed this...
It looks a bit like a thrip, but the leaf damage doesn’t at all resemble thrip damage. Whatever it is, it’s dead now, and I decided another thorough Leaf Wash was is order.
I had to do it Monday as my helper was here and I can’t carry it (it has to go outside for washing!). So here she is catching the breeze while waiting for her spraydown.
The other gardeners arrived at the edge of the forest just as Big Blue landed in the garden
A very thorough and vigorous spray of Leaf Wash with the Solo sprayer and she dripped off a little, while the gardeners did their job.
You couldn’t see it in that other photo but the very youngest one is having a lovely nap between munching grasses...

I was a bit concerned that the leaf wash timing would be off, because I did a destress only a couple of days before. But I had to do this wash when I had the help so it had to happen then. I was therefore relieved and happy to see this the next morning!
And today, we are here
Early Miss continues on her merry way - day 14
there’s some nice genetics in this so I’m really looking forward. A couple of buddies with be growing one or 2 as well.
We had a plumber visit yesterday, no disaster - just replacing some taps and our under sink filters (gee our bank balance misses my DIY capabilities!). But anyway, our plumber is the nicest guy you could hope to know. He’s been our plumber for about 15 years, in all our rentals before we bought this place. He’s also a fellow cannabis lover... and was happily interested to learn about auto flowering plants as well. He went home with this stash of growables. Our
sponsors are lookin after me and my friends
I’m rushing off again now - going out to get my eyes tested for new glasses
I’ll check y’all later!!
