Amy Gardner’s High Brix Dreams

I’ll post this weeks update a little later tonight - while most of you stateside folks are either still sleeping or just getting up. It’s a bit late this week cause I’m a bit tired.

Meanwhile - my interesting journey with tents continues. This Gorilla is awesome in most ways - and in the ways that are important to me. The lightness of the zipper action alone makes it necessary that I have one of these.

But this has leaks too  Not as many as the other one but a few of them are actually bigger than the holes in the other tent. Like this one at the back seam of one of the windows - the window on the other side doesn’t have this.
This is taken in a well lit room - at night this looks huge to the naked eye.

Flower is going to be happening in late spring, when it’s light till late and the dark period in the tent will be from 430 in the afternoon. The room will be light and I can’t change that. I’m wondering if I have the energy to go another round on this - that said, this tent was more than twice the price of the other one (I’m still paying it off!) ... so quality is an expectation.
Seems I don’t quite have the right tent yet. ;)

I know less than ideal environments can be grown in but when you’re physically very limited certain things just can’t be worked around. I was gearing up to write a super positive review - esp from the perspective of growing with a disability, but can’t quite yet until I’m a bit more satisfied that this leak either isn’t a problem and I should just get over it (somehow, for over $400 I don’t think so), or I get something else sorted.

Update coming later...

I made clones!

Patch it up and forget it, is my first thought. However, what pisses me the most is when you pay $400 for what should be priced no more than $100 you expect to receive something that will not require you kneeling around and patching something. And yet you still do not get this, even on your second attempt.

I don't see that leak as being that big of a deal. I would just safety pin it if you're worried about it.

Hiya AmyG,

I guess we're all thinking along the same lines. I'd get something you could paint/spray (thick enough) to cover the holes (opaque) to darken totally. Or if too big, they have iron on patches. There must be a way to fix this.

Yeah that’s where I’ve mostly been with it, even though it is super annoying ... I was thinking shoe-goo would do the trick, dont know if that’s and Aus product or if it’s everywhere. Be a challenge to make it neat tho and the tents not exactly out of the way :hmmmm: If caulking silicone comes in Black that could work to. But I’m not really up to that anymore.

Just, then I had a conversation with someone today (friend/carer) who said at that price it really wasn’t a good look. I’m a pensioner after all so it’s a significant investment. It’s their new range that’s supposed to have the same build quality, so maybe I’ll have a chat with someone. I spoke to them already about the 420member discount, which they came through with so I already have a contact. I’ll see. Thanks neiko, that’s kind of what I thought. It’s clearly a manufacturing flaw (on one side only) - part of their new range so maybe they ought to know if they’re coming out a bit wonky...
It’ll depend how I feel tomorrow. Thanks all - it’s late here now (for me anyway) too tired to upload pics... so I’m to bed.

Thanks everyone - again

Did you buy one of the new Gorilla Lite tents? A friend of mine up north bought one too and his had a corner seam that had about a 7" section that was not stitched at all. He said he did get a replacement, but had to work for it a little more then he would have liked.
