Amy Gardner’s High Brix Dreams

Excellent- seaweed did me well last year too. If you can get stinging nettle it’s really “the tits”! As they say ;). And the most powerful thing I picked up from Doc when he was doing his early R&D is the 6/5/3 calcium blend (6parts carbonated limestone powder, 5 parts soft rock phosphate, 3 parts gypsum). About a quarter to half a cup of that per cubic foot of mixed soil really made a difference to mine. I highly recommend it. :thumb:

I’m sure it is Gaz! That’s pretty close to where I go. I was there for the surfing. Had the best weed I’ve ever had. Don’t know what it was called, the guy I got it from was our chef and one of the surf coaches. He said it was dakine from a local grower. It was. It was amazing - no speediness but beautifully high and no come down at all. Wish I’d known enough then to ask about the strain :)

Its all the "da kine" at least thats what everyone called it back then ;)

Yup Many a day chillin on the Beach and seeing Don Ho at the International Marketplace in Waikiki
Or the Booze cruise ;) But I am sure its all changed in the last 40 some years

They use da’kine just to mean it’s good authentic local stuff, was how I understood it. Just means, ‘the one’, or ‘the real one’ Whatever it was it was pretty special. :ganjamon:

Only spent a few days in Honolulu (at a conference) - it’s all about the north shore strip for me

Yup Generic slang for the GOOD STUFF
Oh yea North shore is/was away from the tourist traps. I cant remember the name of the beach but it was
the one with the big rock in the surf that you can dive from, needed to time the waves :) Being in the
Military I had access to a lot of places even the locals were not allowed ;) at least not legaly

I've used stinging nettle tea before, infact I still have over 1k of stinging nettle seeds since it's a great plant to have around for the health properties (for us humans not plants). I have my own recipe for soil cooking/amendments thanks all the same. As I said before nature provides me with what I need mostly and what i can't make myself I buy at bunnings. Here is a photo of 1 of the 10 plants from that 1 outside grow to give you an example of the health of what I can do with what I have learnt.

I actually had 2 lol. I have some nug shots of the 90's 2 as well.

Have a good one!

Beautiful wings! I didn’t doubt that at all... just passing on an awesome tip I found here that worked amazing for me when I added it to a process that looks similar to what you do. :)
Those plants look great - such nice colours in that first one :yummy:

I know right! I’m just discovering this myself. Weirdly we managed to have a patch die on us :( I don’t know how we managed to kill stinging nettle! We think it’s just so close to the big eucalyptus forrest and they have their roots into the area. Going to put some raised beds there and hope that’s a bit better. But honestly, can you believe it...? we killed stinging nettle :laughtwo:

Hiya Amy G,

I didn't mean to suggest you change your avatar. I meant that I like the symmetry (so amazing, mesmerizing) like you like the palm tree picture in your avatar. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Sall good I know you didn't mean anything by it, sorry if what i said came off a little negative cause i didn't mean it to be that way lol. I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future if I ever want to utilize it :thumb:

Thank you :) I didn't take many photos unfortunately but i'm glad i took some to share around.

Damn things hurt though when they get your skin haha. Bahaha I don't think i've ever killed nettle other than chopping it down, my dads backyard is full of it now since I let 1 big one flower out (for seeds ofc ;)) You're probably right about the eucalyptus roots taking over, especially with a forest of them there roots would be quite substantial and deeply rooted. Raised beds would be the way to go for sure :thumb: As long as you have more seeds or plants to move into your beds it's not that bad, I mean it's funny but not that bad hahaha

It is funny. Our veggie patch was suffering in similar areas until we built a whole lot of raised wicking beds. They’re independent units now and going well. The nearby trees over hang tha area a bit so they’re roots are likely everywhere! We will try again this year in some regular raised beds and hopefully get a keeper patch. :)

I didnt ever swim at Waimea - just watched the young local men and women dodging and diving massive shore breakers! And some big rides out on the point. My adrenaline there comes from nice 4’ waves at chun’s reef - and then there’s all the turtles to chill out with between waves ... such a happy place
:circle-of-love:

Drift!

On my last night in Hawaii the last time I was there, I took a one hitter to this place and sat for 2-3hours while the sun went down. I took these pictures then. It was my first time using a one-hitter, what a great discovery :ganjamon:

I ride a 9’2” longboard so that’s not my kind of wave to ride, but I’m just as happy watching :) (why I love the north shore so much).

I’m pretty sure that’s former champion body boarder Claudia Ferrari on that first wave.

So cool - rocky point :D

There’s also this one, a bit out of focus because I was rushing to catch it (and I was very high), but there were many split peaks that afternoon ... bliss ... it’s wasn’t even as good as it can get there, and it is still stunning.
These were all late March 2016
