Amy Gardner’s High Brix Dreams

Update: Blue Dream (day 38)

The moon is a couple of days into its waning cycle which means, according to lunar gardening lore, that energy begins to move into the soil and root development is more supported than new growth. Of course new growth still happens but slower - the energetic support from the moons relationship to the earth is for roots at this time. So I’m pleased that it’s just about time for a full TP drench. Pot is drying out and hopefully it will be tomorrow.

I wonder when I’m going to top it ...

I usually would have by now but that’s an old habit so this time I decided to wait a while nd now I’ve become mesmerised by the 9 bladed leaves shooting out the top! If it was outdoors, I prob’ly wouldn’t top it at all. I’m wondering if I mightn’t just supercrop the main top and hope the others come up to meet it. Hmmm. There is certainly no shortage of tops coming in :thumb:

Growth did well after the GI drench and there’s been a ‘Transwater’ since then (plain water with TP Drench added at 1/4 strength). As we’ve all noticed its been getting super crowded in there and a few things prompted me to give it a bit of a prune and trim to open things up a bit. It’s about the right time for that - plus in the last 4weeks I’ve killed 3 single fungus gnats (by squishing them ninja style with my fingers) and I know that’s not many so I’m not worried, just watching. The denseness of the low foliage meant that today, when the pot is feeling quite lightweight, the top of the soil is more damp than you’d expect and not getting much air - and fungus gnats (if there are any more) would love that... i mean look at how thick that skirt is...

So I washed up and sterilised the clippers and did a bit of clearing...

...and just a little LST to open things up a bit more...

Employed some stankClips in a couple of spots...

And put her back in place looking quite a bit better I think! (The triploiod branch front n centre)

As it turned out the triploid branch is literally one of the first ones - had planned to remove them but in the end I only took of one of them that had been a bit buried and hadn’t come on so much.

It could be a clone - but i’m not set up for that so instead its going to garnish my lunch :yummy: along with some of the other trim

For me...

For the worms

For Duggan and Stage

Moon wise it wasn’t technically the best time to trim if you’re trimming for new growth as the growth cycle with regard to the moon is just ending. I’m not too fussed though, it really need the air flow and there’s plenty of time for a growth spurt. Like I said it will still grow during the waning moon of course and we’re right at the start of that quarter so it will make little difference. I wouldn’t do a trim like this, or a trim looking for new growth at the end of this quarter during the fully dark moon for example.

So tomorrow I think it’ll be ready for a Transplant Drench then 2 weeks of waning to dark moon for the roots to get their groove on with plenty of foliage to feed the herd. It’ll be 7 days since Brix foliar tomorrow too, so that will work out perfect to do it a day or 2 after the Drench.

That was a fun morning on the tiny farm! Thanks for stopping by :ciao:

All tucked back in...
Beautiful Big Blue!

A few fungus gnats are ok, I’ll get a few here and there;) Do you have sticky traps? That usually solves it

Awe...so sorry Amy...bin very busy...just seein all this this morning. looking very good woman. You are 'on point' with things and appreciate the 'toe toe' pic!:ganjamon:
About LSTing SCing , topping and things. That bushy lil girl you got there is ready for topping ...or LSTing , whatever , up to you. She has enough side branching to just slow down her 'main' a bit or is perfect for a very 'shallow' topping, which is what i would do ....now! By 'shallow' , i mean , take off as little from the top as ya need too OK...don't come down very far on the main stalk, just pinch off the very , very top Ok. This plant will get very bushy and 'sexy' with some love and attention....sumpin like she's already gettin....:thumb:
As Newty said...get a few yellow sticky traps...they work awesome for those lil buggers.
Enjoy the day Amy and friends...gotta book it...hockey camp to get too!:circle-of-love:

I’m sure it is Gaz! That’s pretty close to where I go. I was there for the surfing. Had the best weed I’ve ever had. Don’t know what it was called, the guy I got it from was our chef and one of the surf coaches. He said it was dakine from a local grower. It was. It was amazing - no speediness but beautifully high and no come down at all. Wish I’d known enough then to ask about the strain :)

That sounds fantastic. My kinda ganj! And how about the A frame....beautiful.

Remember where you come from little Plants  imbibe the vibe of your ancestors... :D;)
Haha! I played the girls some Hawaiian sounding rifs (my own loving grow chant) on my ukulele yesterday. They don’t even know they are in the North Pole:D

When I saw these pics I started getting itchy! I always wanted to go to Hawaii!

Even if you dont surf, the North Shore of Oahu is an awesome place to hang for a while, any time of year :ganjamon: but late winter early spring has to one of the best I think because there’s still the potential for big exciting swells (makeing for lots of awesome - in teh true sense of the word - surfing to watch) as well as calmer days full of amazing places to swim and snorkel etc. plus the waft of cannabis is just in the air all the time... it’s like heaven to me. I still expect to return regularly in the future!

Thanks for coming by @Duggan and confirming it as a good time to top. I appreciate it :) It’s done :)

I slept through my ‘brix time’ this morning - doh! - but I’m still int he 7-10 day window so will have to do it tomorrow. I always wake up about 5am which is 30 mins before lights on - today i slept in till 730  (that Aghani x Skunk sleep oil I made is good stuff :D ). Trying to time the brix sprays it so it’s sooner after the drenches though, so next time I’m setting an alarm!

I’m enjoying the US Open tennis a lot this week. I love tennis and the atmosphere at teh OPen is always so excellent. I’m recording it each night as it all happen while I’m asleep, and then i have it on tap all day. It’s time to relax with a toke and some Roger Federer :slide:

Happy days all - thanks to my new dosing schedule with the oils, I’m pretty much in a good mood nearly all the time at the moment. That could be simply the deeper relief from pain, but i’m sure there’s lots of other good things the oils are doing for me as well. :yummy: Uber magical healing plant

Caught up! That plant looks amazingly happy and the trim job was perfect. Looks as open and airy as a plant that dense can :).

Funny that you mention dakine because my son's best friend (who moved to Oahu from LA four years ago) was in town for a few weeks this summer and was talking about how that's the word they use for whenever they don't want to bother thinking of the real word. He said his soccer coach would say it to players when they asked what position to play!

I'm so glad you have found a good dosing schedule, and that you finally remembered to post the canna-coffee pics ;).

Yes - that’s right! :D I do remember. Oh that was a lovely gentle high al day from that. My oil doesn’t make me high like that but I’m noticing a lovely mood most of the time. And vaping on top still makes me nice and high - or stoned depending on the strain... life’s good with cannabis :)

I haven’t been in here for a while. Been trying to spend less time on my e-devices (not very successfully!) and mostly been in other journals and threads... can’t have my own journal hitting page 3 of my subscriptions tho’! So here I am.

Thought I’d share this lovely canna infused lunch I had last week. I’ve been so inspired by both newty and LadyGaea & now that I’ve discovered I can tolerate ingested THC there’s no stopping me!

I love LadyGaea’s tip about dosing per serve. It suits me well because the partner doesn’t use anywhere near as much a I do, plus I already use a dropper for my oil dosing so it’s been easy. If the meal suits it I just put my dose right in there.

This one had a bonus, the garnish from my trim job on the blue Dream.

The dish is a very buttery French lentils with carrots, celery and green from the garden - including the blue Dream - with sides of fried haloumi and some avocado. All of these suit oil but I just mixed it straight into the buttery lentils dish - Afghani x Critical mass ... delish! Pain modulating food :D

I’ll update next after the next drench, which might be today, but more likely tomorrow... still a bit of weight in the pot. It’s going to get a rescue drench as we lost some root hook up after the last drench. I maybe have some idea about how that happened - but I’ll speculate on that when I update. For now, you can see the mottled fade on the leaves. It’s minor and hard to catch on the camera, but it’s there - and it appeared quickly.

A rescue drench (which is Doc’s advice) should get everyone back in sync.

:Namaste:

It was! :yummy:

I should clarify that I didn’t make it myself :battingeyelashes: I’m not the chef in the family by any stretch of the imagination. I’m handy with most things, and pretty girly by most accounts - but cooking and sewing? Forget it - not my bag. Quite a good baker tho’ which is a bit hopeless ATM seeing as I’m off all grains and nearly all carbs ...

I might try to make some canna chocolates come Christmas time though!
