how are you getting on with the cfls I have got one big full spectrum an a smaller one I am just worried that they are getting the light they need I just changed over on this grow cause of cost an heat in my small tent

Do not swap for CFLs if you have heat issue, those produce a lot more heat. (Unless your plants are fine with less light and wattage or the space is so small that even a 250W would fry anything inside). No idea why people say CFLs produce less heat. That tech is simply less effective then HPS. Gives less light for the same heat (not considering spectra, but most grow hps has a proper one).
And even a 250W bulb is on the borderline, as MJ's need for light in flower is so high.
The thing is why could I touch the cfls even my 300w full spec the heat must be differnt The one thing that I do know about them is that if they blow the room has to be evacuated for a while an that is a small one that for me is the biggest worryShit I hope it will be alright

No Mr SpimpNO question the are way more effecient. And my tone was not inteded, it came off douchey and I apoligize. Ive looked at 5 other sites and been researching since my outburst and the only way it makes sense is distance. Given the same size box with lighting being the same distance its no contest. Also I have learned that the spiral of the lower watt CFLs dissapate the heat very rapidly as aposed to one bulb.
But, Ill admit I didnt consider all options and that Invi's point under proper circumstances is right. With a proper grow area, and cooltube options, a HPS can run cooler than cfl's. Especially considering for any effeciency the CFL's must be so so close to the plants.
I was thinking in terms of a small grow box, basically exchanging one for another. I didnt consider a tent like setup or proper exhaust and cooling techniques.
No matter what the HPS is WAY WAY better if heat can be controlled. ME = Dumb. Invi = Smart.

Dim its dark over here we had to pop out well phone a friend an her daughter brought well somthing green it had smell but nothing else cant call it med or even comercil weed it was dead weed with nothing but a dark green color an that was like I said from a friends daughter didnt have the heart to say anything as the friend also suffers with M.S
