Alex's - SCROG - 620 Watt CFL's - Actual Wattage - Super Lemon Haze

Agree with fishcake. I expect to yield a decent amount of sativa loveliness from this cfl grow but remember I'm using nearly 600 watts of CFls actuall wattage not equizalant. But I'd be better off using a 400 hps for yield I think pretty sure about that. CFls are great using low watts in small spaces really close to the girls. In pc boxes and little cupboards. Anything over 2x2ft I would go hps all the way. Anything bigger and you end up needing a lots lot lot of bulbs. And the heat issue with CFls being a lot less hot. They are but when u have a dozen of them equalling 520 watts there just as hot as a 400 watt hps

I think I'm doing a good job of selling hps lol but it all depends on what u want to realistically yield.. How much space your using.. And what method your growin Scrog lst Christmas tree ect

Scrog is great for cfl because most of the buds are somewhere near level meaning you can have ur bulbs on a reflector as spouses to having them hanging allover getting to lower bud sites etc

I will now always I think grow Scrog. 1-2plants and I'm confident il probs veg using CFls probs 200 watts worth that's enough they great for veg. And I will in futrre flower 400-600 hps

If I was only allowed one or the other I would 2 plant Scrog start to finish with 400 watt hps, I think that would be the best cost iffective bet for me in my space watt to gram ratio taken into account.

I think the HPS is so far superior in penatrative light as well. Im running roughly 200w actual cfl, I cant imagine the heat box youll get with 600! If I ever get a nice country home Ill look into a tent with a HPS and cool tube, but for my purposes cfl is the way to go. Ive seen lots of journals with not enough CFL's and the buds seem to be very light and fluffy. I think keeping them almost touching the plants with decent reflective box and you get the swell. But you gotta run alot of em. The difference I noticed when I added all the extra was amazing. Every day i could almost see them swelling. I luckboxed my way into it because they were already at a good height for me so all those extra lumes went straight to buds.
I think for anyone wanting more than a micro, CFL's are not the best choice at all. You have to constantly adjust plant height to keep the effective lumens where u want them. But for a hack like me, They do ok. :) I cant wait to see your harvest!! are you still about 4 weeks or so out?

So lights on this morning I had a poke about and a wobble of some buds.... One plants buds are so so much denser than the others. The one with the minimal undergrowth trim is mega dense compared to the other. I'm sure that's coincidence as I'd expect it to be the othe way around. The fluffyr girl has always been slightly behind due to a little heat stress early on. But it is very noticeable the diference in buds. Looking forward to the last two weeks and weight to be packed on hopefully. 3 weeks tomorrow going by the book, 11.5 weeks from seed seems to of gone in the blink of an eye
 
I totally agre but when you are at wek 4 it dont seem to quick an the Mrs is smoking my herb tea leaves:welldone: I cant wait for the final lemon haze sounds nice

Drill worms are completely out of my expertise range which doesn't actually stretch far lol I feel sure fish or king Jon or invi or another on the journal can help .

in the same country in hear is nieghbors you got a new seed going I did that when my first small fail happened my dwarf auto started to into flower when she was about 2/3 inches tall she has got pistols now an starting to smell but I dont think I will get more than a couple of dry grams out of her :thumb: At best she will tied us over till my royal critical go to flower an to be double sure I put another auto dwarf in a she is on her 1st week I think?:)

ok here are some organic suggestions
Nematodes if you can get them. next would be to take a wad of chewing tobacco and brew a tea with it then soak the soil with it. one other try would be to get some food grade Diatomacious earth and dress the top of your soil with it. the D.E. will prevent and kill any bug from getting in your soil. good or bad.

Really chewing tobaco what if I used my nicotine vapour oil I will only smoke tobaco with ganja as for the food grade Diatomacious never heard of it.
Still they use nicotine as a pesta side so if the girls could handel that do you think a solution using nicotine oil also has a flavor though , it is not so bad at the moment I reconized it from back years ago 2o to be close I got a lot of this bug in a awful lot it drills between the leaves fats up on nutes from the poorly girl then becomes a maggot by this stage if I hadnt found them an got them out myself thay would kill the plant:circle-of-love:

I thought your nemesis was under your compost. I suppose the oil would work. but instead of drenching the soil make a spray with it and spritz the leaves you could also add hot peppers to the brew. the D.E would stop anything trying to burrow in to your soil. if you have a pet shop around you should find it there or at a farm supply. rosemary oil is a good defense also. that is about all I have without going on chemical warfare Jaga.
