Alaskan1's Flo n Gro Mixed Bag Grow

I was hitting the Plants with AzaMax since my other tent had root aphids. I also saw a few nibbled on leaves which made me worried so I gave them a shot because of that as well.

Even though I don't foliar feed my plants other then the clones I did not know that tid bit of info. Thanks SpaceGhost! :thanks:

Loved that show btw, SpaceGhost coast to coast :thumb:

I am sorry to hear of all your troubles with your roots and pests, I must be doing something right. Knock on wood.

I was reading at the start of your thread that you believe your problems began from to much water and not lowering as the roots grew. I run my water level 8.5" up the bucket and by my figures that's about 2" contacting my net pot. You must have great air movement under the roots, lots of bubbles. I tried using the round air stones and took them back as they always clogged. I am now running the 4" blue .99c air stones and they work fabulous. also make sure your using 30ml H2O2 per gal in your resovior. I am this week now going to try on the weeks that I don't clean my resivior to and 15ml H2O2 until I change and clean my tank, by the way I'm getting 3 weeks without having to clean my tanks.

If you do foliar feed do it as the lights are turning off as not to burn the leaves from the light magnification of the water droplets.

I don't think you need to foliar feed with a DWC. just my 2c. I quit foliar feeding a while ago and I have had many less issues.

not here to start an argument spaceghost, just want to make sure we cover the gray areas on this topic. foliar feeding is just as effective in dwc as in soil/soiless. both plants breathe in/take in Co2 and other airborn pollutions/chemicals through their stems and leaves. the only way DWC wouldn't "need" foliar feeding is if the DWC plant sprouted its own foliar feeding bottle and sprayed itself lol.

i agree foliar feeding can cause problems for plants like mold, burns from lights, over sprayed and drenched but just because the roots are in water and not soil doesn't cut off its ability to take in nutrients of chemicals through its stems and leaves.

i hope i didnt come off too strong, i just wanted to throw those examples out there for you to look at and decide if it makes sense or not.

Haven't had that exact experience, but I'd say that PH often drifts up, and can be rather unstable in general at low PPMs with RO water which has nothing to buffer PH. Also your plant is flushing nutrient salts and any other gunk back left in the media back into the reservoir causing PPM's to go up.

Doesn't sound necessarily bad or unusual to me, unless that was a large reservoir making that PH jump. I can't remember, is it?

If you haven't noticed yet after setting the ph the ppms usually go up from the additives of the ph down

When I go about doing my daily checks of my ppm's and ph. I do a routine. I 1st check what the ppm's are and if they are close to my likings 1080-1200 if they are good I go about checking the ph and don't think twice about the ppms again as when I adjust the ph down it will raise the ppms but not in a bad way. If they are low I ad a nutrient mix that I have ready in a gal jug bring the ppms up then adjust ph. If the ppms are high I ad water bring them down and then ph the tank.

you ph additive will change your ppm's

No your absolutely right Bro and I want to try the bottled carbonated water, but i hope it's really not worth the pain that some of the utube videos make it out to be.
And then there's bud rot on flowering. I just don't think it's worth all the risk whit DWc
Just my 2c and what do I know I haven't even finished my 1st grow yet. although I don't have bugs or root rot like either one of you 2. agian go ahead and keep doing what you do and I will read and learn from your two's experiences
And my plants are so saturated with water right now if you touch a leaf it will leave droplets of water in your hand

I don't foliar feed my plants, I only use the pesticide Azamax (liquid neem oil) as a spray on my plants to prevent any buggers wanting to eat them or to get rid of bugs that feel my plants make a nice home. I always shut my lights off when they get sprayed and do not get turned back on until they have dried.
Currently I am using H202 every other week in my 55 gal res. Seems to be doing the trick as is.
As soon as the plants that are in the 5 gal DWC buckets are either done or dead that system is going into the trash. :bravo:

Yes, they will replace it. Come with a 1 yr warranty I does believe :high-five:

Cool! Nice of them to just replace it in-store rather than making you get an RMA from the company to get it replaced. Stores do not necessarily have to honor a manufacturer's warranty unless expressly written in the warranty, "Return to place of purchase...", and even still it is sometimes iffy.

They have told me that ANYTHING I buy in their store they will replace if it's still under warranty and handle it from there. These people have been very good to me. The more I purchase from them the larger my discount becomes down the road. I got my last Flo n Gro cheaper then I could find it on the internet.

Thought I would throw out a few pictures of the girls in blOOm!

now that explanation i can understand and agree with ya on. DWC is a pain in the ass itself why put your plants through more obsticles that can harm it. i see what ya mean now bud.

Whats up with the tuity fruity cabana umbrellas next to the clones....ok deals off, you cant come on vacation with me..............

Buddy, clones look awesome.....are they rooted?

Very cool first pic too,,,,,,,,,,,oh how I long for such a big tent.........jealousy just set in.

HAHAHA hell yea...if my eyes are working right i see umbrellas next to them lol. well they still look a little stringy but they'll fill in. man thats cool seeing the plants from my grow growing in your grow. you took some good clones and at a good timeing also/

The white russians have roots popping out. The white widows are showing the very beginings of roots. I added super thrive last night so that should speed things up a bit!
