Hey Alafornia! I’m glad I found my way here. That’s a great opening post. It really paints a vivid picture. I grow for my own medical needs to treat a few things some of which, apart from the autism, are similar to your household. I’m subbed in for the journey!
Your plan sounds great. I caught up a bit and collected thoughts along the way, lets see what they were
Too many medical people wonder aloud about the lack of evidence for cannabis and also the lack of date on adverse effects, especially so when it comes to kids using it. Yet, NONE of the medications my son was placed on have an indication for autism. The research for using them in autism or on kids is very limited. The adverse effects are numerous and, at times, dangerous if they occur. Weight gain, metabolic syndrome, tardive dyskinesia, and so on. And yet no one bats an eye when these are written off label for children. Suddenly we need good data and robust studies with cannabis despite the fact numerous case reports exist showing a benefit and very little risk. Suddenly many are afraid of using something we don't completely understand. And it's all due to decades of lies, fear, and propaganda.
tell it!
Most days now RH is in the teens outside and occasionally single digits.
Man that makes it tough!
I’ll echo what some others have said about the RH. Stability in environment is oimportnat too. They need stability to rally find a groove for growing rather than adapting all the time. I use a couple of small sonic coolmist humidifers and that works well. That one that SQI2kGuy posted looks the goods! I want one
So I’m relatively new to growing seriously and only on my second run indoors (have done a few more outside) and the main thing I’ve learnt indoors is that environment is everything. RH 50-65% is the range that gets recommended for veg (45-55% in flower) and recently someone posted an article in my thread about fluctuations in environment causing a lot of stress.
Hope you don’t mind me being so bold as to throw all this out there. I just think you’ll get a lot of important if yu can get some kind of humidifier and stabilise things in there
I am doing the same for my husband different strains for different times. Northern lights for bedtime it is. Thanks for info.
Hi Newfun nice to meet you
I’m doing similar for myself. I’m currently enjoying Kush strains for evening/nighttime but I have some northern lights to try too. They always get a great rap for sleepy time meds.
I’m really loooking forward to hearing more about some of these other strains you have going Alafornia! The White Russian in particular. I have 3 different daytime THC varieties for slightly different effects (currently Haze, Blue Dream, White Widow) and a straight CBD variety which is actually a parent to your Master Hemp (Candida CD-1).
And just in case you do decide to get a humidifier ... here's a nice one I use (from Amazon):
TaoTronics Cool Mist Humidifier
Programmable LED Display
4L/1.06 Gallon Large Capacity
I usually have it set at 50% but I just raised it to 70% for my new clones.
Thanks for posting that - and Hi
once to meet you! Wow just met 3 new 420ers
But yeah - that Humi looks really good. I’m going to try to find something like that here for down teh track, these little ones I have won’t last forever.
Sorry for landing here with such a long post ‘fornia
. I have some BPD to manage as well
but really it’s because I read everything from the start and lots of thoughts popped up, some of which I thought you might like to know about.
There are quite a few folks on here who grow for family and don’t/can’t consume the product themselves so you’ll find yourself in good company there as well. My partner doesnt do THC but uses the CBD oil I make for anxiety/depression and it helps with pain as well.
I cant wait to see your room full of flowering meds!!
